Chapter 1

New York Airport

Nicholas dragged his suitcase out of the airport while his eyes searched for the person he wanted to see very badly. Soon he found that face in the crowd, and immediately rushed towards him leaving behind his suitcase.

"I missed you so much, bro". Nicholas shouted loudly as he hugged his elder brother tightly.

"I missed you too, Nick." Andrew said as he hugged him back and caressed his head. He wiped the tears from the corners of his eye.

They hugged each other for a while when Andrew released him and caressed his face as he said," You look very handsome now."

"Oh come on bro, I have always been handsome, Okay?" Nicholas said as he spread his arms and expectantly looked at his brother to agree with him.

"Yes, yes, Of course. "Andrew said as he slapped his head lightly and walked towards the direction where Nicholas left his suitcase. He dragged the suitcase and said to Nicholas, " Let's go home. Mom, dad and Amyra are eagerly waiting for your arrival. Infact, Amyra wanted to come with me but mom didn't allow her as she wanted Amyra to help her in making the preparations for your arrival celebration party."

They both walked towards the car while talking to each other and Andrew handed the suitcase to the chauffeur. After they both sat in the passenger seat, Andrew asked Nicholas casually, " So what you want to do now after completing your masters degree."

"I have not decided yet, bro. As for now, I just want to chill for some time as I missed the life here for 5 years when I was in California."

Andrew nodded his head and said with a smile on his face,"That's right. There is no need to rush the things. You can take your time. After all, you have returned to New York after such a long time.

But you need to know that I can't handle the company alone. It's too tiresome, you know. I find it's difficult to have time for the family. That's why you need to share my burden so that I can live my life with some ease."

"Of course, bro. That's why I decided to study in California so that I can help you in managing our company in a better way." Nicholas replied to Andrew as he looked outside the window reminiscing his childhood memories.

They reached the home after 1 hour while talking to each other and as soon as their car stopped in front of their mention, Jenny, their younger sister came from inside and immediately opened the door on Nicholas's side.

She used all the force to drag Nicholas out of the car and directly punched him heavily on his chest as she yelled ,"You liar, you promised me to return on my birthday every year and made me wait all the time on my special day."

Nicholas yelled in pain and scolded her,"Gosh! You have become so violent in these years."

"Don't try to change the topic. Answer me, why didn't you come on my birthday in these years?"

Jenny asked with tears in her eyes.

Nicholas felt bad seeing tears in his sister's eyes and hugged her and as he tried to calm down her. He said," I swear, I didn't do that purposely. Unfortunately, my leave got cancelled by the University every year. But I had sent you presents every year. How could you forget that?"

"Those presents couldn't make up for your absence, okay?" Jenny said as she crossed her arms on her chest and turned her face in other direction showing her anger.

"But...." Nicholas tried to argue back but was interrupted by a voice," Look at them. They are adults but still fighting like kids." Gina, their grandmother said to their mother Shelley who led her towards Nicholas holding her hand followed by Amyra.

Shelley smiled and glanced at her younger son, who was in front of after so many years. He had changed a lot since the time he left the house. But no matter what, for her, he was her child whom she loved the most amongst her 3 children.

"Awww... my child. You have become so thin. Didn't you like the food in California?"Gina said to Nicholas as she held his face in her hands and kissed on his forehead.

"The food was not bad there, it's just I badly missed my mother's delicious food when I was living in California." Nicholas replied to his grandmother while looking at his mother with teary eyes.

Then he hugged his mother from side along with his grandmother while Shelley also cried as she hugged her son. At one time, she had believed that he might not come back because she was the only one who knew the reason for him leaving New York 5 years ago.

"Are you guys planning to stay here forever?"A cold voice interrupted the harmonious environment and everyone looked in the direction of the voice.

The voice belonged to George Price, the chairman of Price corporation and the head of Price family. He came out of the house after waiting for Nicholas for a long time and felt very bad seeing them having a union outside of the house completely ignoring him.

Everyone smiled sheepishly seeing the displeasure on his face because they found it somewhat funny. Before his father get more angry, Nicholas walked towards George and gave him a tight hug.

The frown on his face disappeared immediately after being hugged by his son and he patted his back as he said, "You have finally found the way to home, you brat."

"Yes dad and I promise I will never leave again for such a long time." Nicholas said as he looked at his mother to assure her as well. His mother smiled and nodded her head with satisfaction.

"That's good if you never forget your promise. By the way, have some rest and be ready for the celebration party by 7 pm." George said as he patted his face and went again inside the house.

Everyone followed him inside and Shelley said to Nicholas in a soft tone, "Go and get freshen up. I will ask the servants to get ready the lunch."

"Okay mom." Nicholas said to his mother and walked upstairs. He was surprised to see that his room was neat and tidy and same as before. It was evident that not even a single thing has been moved from its place.

He hurriedly walked towards a book rack and picked up a diary. A photograph fell down from the diary. Nicholas put the diary back and bent down to pick up the photograph.

A smile spread on his face seeing the photograph and he caressed the face of the girl in the photograph as he said," I have come back to settle scores with you. "
