Shackles and Lies

Seals were difficult to place and even more difficult to remove. Unlike other abilities that could be dealt with by taking care of the source of the problem - which in most cases is the wielder dishing the attack - a seal could only be broken when some specific conditions were met. There were some seals that could only be removed by the one who placed them. Such seals would remain forever if the one responsible died! Only if the victim found the hidden locks to the seal, could the seal be undone. Unfortunately, it was difficult to find those locks. They were mysteries that could not easily be seen through, even by great Scholars.

The other type of seals was the immortal type. An immortal seal was just as the name implied - it lasted forever. The caster had no right or the ability to remove the seal, neither were they any hidden locks - conditions for removal - that had to be met.
