I am dizzy from all the phone calls I made during the day. Valentina, Joanna, Sophia, Alice and Stella have spent hours talking to me on the phone, congratulating me. I am very surprised by Stella who had already sent me three yellow balloons at Hunter's house two hours earlier with a very cute card.

Hunter and I have continued in an almost non-communicative relationship since our argument yesterday.

The news that I will only have three more months in Spain takes me completely by surprise, and at a time when I thought everything was going to start to change. Never in my life do I remember getting a student visa and that I needed to change it. Damn the accident...

I stay in the living room reading a magazine and listening to Hunter talking to another person, interested in purchasing the house, since in a few weeks he will have to move.

“How are you?” He sits beside me.

“The same?” I look at him who is nodding his head.

“I'm sorry,” he says. I open my mouth but stop from saying anything

Thankfully, today I wake up much better, as yesterday my back was stiff from so much pain. The medications aren't working as I expected so I try to keep myself busy with enough tasks to distract myself.Sophia arrived two hours ago and for the first two hours she's been putting her mouth on me for not telling her about the pregnancy and how much she was hurt and of what a liar I am and all the pure drama involving her and now she is laughing at me. I can't stop analyzing the diamond ring on her ring finger.“Stop laughing,” I speak, putting my swollen feet up on the bed.“You are crazy,” she says, lounging in the corner.“It's complicated Sophia, everything is very complicated.” I lightly massage my tummy, a little bigger than a basketball.“Being a mother must be complicated.” She fiddles with her fingers as if guilty of something.“I don't know and now I'm going to be a mother of three.” I tilt my head. “What is it, Sophia?”She clears her throat. “I'm pregnant.”“My God, Sophia!” I

I'm an idiot.A tremendously selfish and genuinely dumb idiot.I look at the pool in front of me. The sunlight reflects across its crystal-clear water. I stand at the edge, reflecting as a person who has no notion of his actions. I try to think about what I did.I accepted the request. I selfishly accepted the request and felt like the most complete person in the world. I continue to watch the water with the filter jets running and thin about Hunter's words hanging over my head last night.14 hours ago..."Hunter!” I squeal, covering my mouth as I view the lantern-like lights around us.“It took me too long to do this.” He glances at me nervously. “Sorry for being the biggest asshole in the world and not having seen what you really wanted. Or actually, deserved.” I swallow hard feeling, my heart stop. “I can't spend a second longer away from you; I want you at all times of life and maybe even later.” With that he gives a disgruntled helpless smile.“Hunter, you don’t need...”“I alway

The noise of my cellphone ringing through the car speakers wakes me from my daydreams.“Hello, Jimmy,” I speak as I reduce speed to stop at the red light. The traffic was insane for some reason today and it wasn’t even the weekend or a bank holiday.“Let's go to Eric's house,” he suggests.“What's there?” I ask, rolling my eyes. I don't see anything funny about any of this.“The Lamborghini is available,” he offers.I look at the shiny black car beside me and make a face. “I don't want her.” My voice comes out like a child’s.“And by the way, where are you going?” I stammer a little and he senses my hesitation. “Don't tell me you're alone.” I can hear his smile disappear.“Yes, I am and I'm going shopping,” I say, firmly.“Purchases?” he inquires.“Yes,

I can hear my own heart beating; I am so still. As if standing still would help with anything. As they say, no women can ever hold a secret for too long or be in suspense! It is the ultimate form of torture. My heart nearly leaps into my mouth when Hunter opens the door. I am sitting behind the balls, so it is pretty clear what I am presenting here. I was tempted to bite my nails though. He approaches silently, scanning me and the three balls, not quite understanding. He steps closer and reads the three plaques on each ball. When he finishes, that perfect mouth breaks into a huge smile for me.“There are three boys, my 3 boys!” he says, choking up.“Yes,” I confirm, smiling. His happiness was out of bounds as he collected all the 3 balls in his arms as though our babies were in front of him.“I'm almost the luckiest man in the world.” Then he frowns. “All I need is an answer.”“You've already had your answer.” I smile.“I made you a proposal.” He sits in front of me, moving the balls.

This thing where I turn from one side to the other is not my thing. Again, I roll onto my left side, admire Hunter's bare back, and count his little spots visible in the room’s darkness, where the only beam of light is from the moon.I roll over onto my back again, and my newer, more usual discomfort remains with me.“Shit.” I punch the mattress with clenched fists.“What was that, Selena?”-mutters Hunter sleepily.“I can't fix myself to sleep” I whimper.“Again?” Finally, he turns and faces me with those beautiful pairs of blue eyes.“I thought I would sleep well, at least this night.”I was counting on it. After Hunter's long presentation celebration, we arrived at the hotel right after his first appearance as a Real Madrid player. It was after one in the morning! For a change, I had to sit for more than half the time. I was unable to drink a little sip of champagne and I had to sit still and wait for people to come and congratulate me on the “baby” who was almost winning. That's wh

One year later...You've been married for just over a year, and your children will complete one year. How has your life changed from then?I fiddle with my fingers that are resting on my now finely crossed legs.“I discovered myself as a woman,” I answer, facing Alice as she interviews me. “I found that I can really take care of someone, since I didn't even know how to take care of myself. And now I take care of four!”“How is the atmosphere in your house with your children?”I smile. “My house is the biggest mess ever. It's a minefield of toys everywhere. Every time I get home, my kids start waving their arms frantically and laughing nonstop to see me.”“And your husband, Hunter Blanco, is at home with his children?”I look at the camera nervously photographing me and then back at Alice.“He is an amazing father, and whenever he can, he is with his children and family.” I end it there and Alice tilts her head and looks at me.“Selena!” she scolds me. “This is a personal interview, so

I let him enter the dimly lit room. The quiet and peaceful environment, together with the image of Hunter kissing our children's foreheads, fascinates me. He cares about them fifteen thousand times more than he cares about me. Before, I didn't understand the reason for this exaggeration, but now I would watch over them as they sleep twenty-four hours a day if I could.“How did they spend these last few days?”My heart sinks, remembering. It’s been five days since we've seen each other, way too long!“The pediatrician said that Valeria should start taking half a dose of the medication,” I inform and he sighs. “The boys are missing iron. Did you see the size of Pedro's fat little hand and Liam's thick thigh?” I say, laughing.“There was no way not to notice it, it makes you want to bite it.”I feel like crying to see him so happy. I want to hug him and hold him so much that I have to hold back. I need him to keep me strong, and I like it better when I have more time, but now it doesn't

Still, every time I look at him, I see his watery eyes for our daughter, who hasn't shown any improvement. I can't hide my crying spells. After all, I want my family back home and healthy. Life is sometimes so unfair but objectively correct. There are no pains that cannot be healed, no bonds that cannot be joined, people that do not come back—the concept of life and death. Widely known as the eminent pain after a person, who is deliberately said to set out on a better journey. Maybe not. Since no one has yet discovered what occurs after death, there are only scientific and religious theories to go by.I can say that experiencing death is neither painful nor sad. I don't feel like running out of the light and back to life. Peace. Perhaps the peace that everyone seeks is not in life itself. Never, ever, no matter how hard you try, you will never have any rest. As much as something is resolved well, another factor comes and shakes everything again. That may be the meaning of life. It’s not just you opening your eyes and feeling that your heart is still beating. It's a vicious cycle, where love and disagreement will always be present as a challenge, a challenge you face eve
