He went wild

CHAPTER 2

Riella stared at him as he touched his chest. She had mixed feelings about what she just did. But the feeling of hatred was greater than the feeling of likeness. If only he came from another pack that wasn't the Goldenrod Pack, things would have been totally different.

"But why? You can't do this to me please..." He pleaded with her.

She scoffed, "Who on earth made you the pack leader? I've never seen someone as dumb and weak as you are. Just leave before I call for help and report you for trespassing. I want nothing to do with you as you can see, just leave me alone and never come back!"

She was about to leave when he pulled her back. Riella was flustered, she felt strange as he touched her.

"Why? Tell me why you are doing this."

"Don't touch me!" She snapped at him and pulled her hand off him, "You have no right to ask me why! Ask your pack what they did to my father! He was all I had left and you people just had to take him away from me. Now leave, I don't want to see your annoying face!"

Riella went back inside and slammed the door on his face. She looked through the window and saw Nathan leaving.

Something strange happened when he got into his car, he growled so loud that it could attract a lot of people. Luckily, not much people are in this area. He also drove off like someone who's gone mad.

Riella shook her head and fell on the couch. She never wanted to do this. She also wanted to meet her mate, she wanted to be happy. But nothing has been the same since her father died. It's about a year ago, she only came to collect his remains and went back to where she lived. She only returned home a few days ago to clean up the house.

It brought unwanted memories of her father, so she wants to sell it and move on. Still, she is habing second thoughts about this. The Goldenrod Pack was the last place she wanted her mate to be at. She found out they killed her father saying he commited treason but had no evidence that he did. She felt wronged and hated them all.

She wants to avenge his death and wipe out the entire pack. She is a very powerful Beta and could do more if she had an army by her side. She has trained well as a child and trained more when her father died. Even if she dies in the end, she will make sure to get her revenge. This was her mindset all these while until she met Nathan yesterday.

At the art exhibition, she bumped into him and her mate got excited. She found him handsome and liked him already. She got a call just when she was about to talk to him. She went out to pick the call, then she checked her messages. She saw the information she asked for. The picture of the pack leader which is that of Alpha Nathan appeared to her.

Hatred covered her likeness instantly and she left the event. She went home cursing herself. So much for wanting a mate. The moon goddess had to curse her with a man like him? There's no way she would accept her father's killers as family. If they could kill her father, they would do more than that to her too.

She left the couch and made herself something to drink. Her mate was devastated despite having reasons to reject him. She somehow felt bad for him seeing how he did not take the rejection well.

This made her wonder why he was so eager to meet with her. What could be the big reason behind being so heartbroken? It's not like he'll die or anything right?

"Don't you think you are being too harsh on him?" Her best friend Casey appeared from the back door.

Riella rolled her eyes, Casey is the only one who would come to her house through the back door. She lives not too far and they have been friends since childhood.

"I am not harsh. I am just saying the truth. How long have you been around?"

Casey shrugged, "I saw him drive by just when I was getting close to your place. So I hid and listened to your conversation. I think you should take it slow, don't you know what you just did to him?"

"Like I care? His pack made me suffer. My father died, for no reason. No one in this pack is fighting for him, why won't I fight for him myself?" Riella fired at Casey.

Casey shook her head in disapproval. It seems Riella would never fully understand what is going on. All she sees is that her father was killed.

"I kept telling you this. You might want to ask your father for the truth."

But Riella turned deaf ears to her. She did not want to believe that her father did anything. All she believes is that her father was never wrong.

Nathan came home dragging himself and walking like a zombie. His guards could not touch him, they all thought he was having one of those days.

The days when his beast would come out and he becomes untameable. It takes quite a number of people to chain him which he usually breaks by the way. He has that much strength, but he can't do anything with it until his mate accepts him.

His step brother is looking for the perfect opportunity to come take his place. Noelle doesn't allow word go outside when this happens.

As soon as she saw Nathan, she signalled the guards to help him to his room. She helped lay Nathan on the bed and secretly signalled the guards again to get ready.

By the look of things, it is obvious that things did not go well where he went. Which explains why he is down like this. Didn't he find her? Or did she reject him?

"What happened? Why are you like this? Breathe slowly." She asked him, noticing his erratic breathing.

"She rejected me. I have no other way to survive this and she rejected me. What am I supposed to do? I can't..."

"Breathe slowly Nathan."

"NO!" He jumped up, his eyes turned totally red and his fingers grew.

" Nathan, don't-" Before Noelle could finish what she was saying, Nathan wrap his head around her neck and strangle it.

His beast came back! Noelle managed to signalled the guards.

Though it wasn't easy as more guards came in and helped in chaining him.

" He's run wild! He's going rogue! " Noelle thought as tears dropped from her eyes

Then she suddenly remember Nathan's mate, " T-that girl, she's the reason! I need to see her,"
