A FEW MINUTES EARLIER

Riella followed the guard to the room. They got there before Noelle braced herself to go confront stefan. The guard moved back in fear as he saw that the chain used to tie him down has been broken. Riella saw how red his eyes were, she sensed his anger.

"Don't move close to him miss, just stay here and talk to him." The guard warned her.

"What's going to happen if I do? I can't help him if I don't move closer to him." Riella protested.

"I know but this is his most dangerous state. He has no control over himself, he could kill anyone without recognising them. Please stay back a little bit." The guard explained.

“Staying back will not help solve anything. He needs my help as fast as I can. I can't disappoint his sister who I already promised. Besides, this is my chance to get rid of them.” She thought.

The guard thought she has listened to him. Instead, she ignored his words and moved closer to him.

"Miss! No, don't do that!" But Riella already went closer to him.

"Umm... Hi Nathan. I know you are mad at me right now but I need you to come back to your senses. For your sake. I will accept you as my mate, I take back my words on rejecting you..." She said it like she meant it.

Her words were cut off when he grabbed her neck, raising her up with so much strength. His nails were digging into her skin a little. She whimpered and tried to fight him off with her strength. He was just so much stronger than her.

"Stop! Listen to me Nathan! I am your mate! Come back to your senses!" She growled and finally managed to push him off.

He stayed silent for a while that the guard thought he was dead. Until he stood up by himself, and the guard was marvelled. No one has been able to do this before.

He suddenly came back to his senses, his eyes turned back to normal. Riella left the room immediately and he could not see her face. He has been unable to see the person who sped out of the room.

"Who is that?" He asked the guard.

"I don't know. I just got here too." The guard answered.

He ran out of the room after her. He still saw her and he wanted to go after her when he heard noises downstairs so he went to the direction of the noise instead.

That's how he found Stefan in the living room with his sister. No one expected this to happen. Meanwhile, Nathan dashed to the entrance where Stefan is. He stood there and overheard their conversation before showing himself. He lost it the moment Stefan asked Noelle to bow to him.

"Why would she do that Stefan?" He asked coming out to face everyone.

Everyone's surprised to see him standing in front of them. The look on Stefan's face was priceless. He felt like he's been tricked by the one who gave him information. Nathan looked totally fine, there's was nothing wrong with him?

Noelle could not keep her mouth shut either. She wondered if it's an hologram or its real. Her brother came back? Is Riella some sort of magician? She did fulfill her promise and probably left by now.

"Why ask my sister to kneel before you when you can't even fight her on your own. You have to depend on your men to win a fight, yet you act like you have it all. You are pathetic Stefan." I said to him.

He did not say anything. He continued to stare at me hatefully. Of course he could bury me by now if looks could kill.

"What's wrong? You can't talk anymore? Are you that shocked?" Nathan asked Stefan. "Wow, I guess you really wished I was dead."

Stefan finally found something to say. He was not going to buy the show that Nathan is putting on.

"You think I'll believe anything that comes out of your mouth? You're just a weak leader, everyone already wants me so step away." Stefan mocked.

"Why do you think I am a weak person? You must still be reflecting on the past. Things have really changed now. Don't underestimate me Stefan." Nathan warned.

Stefan laughed hysterically, "What? Are you threatening me? Have you forgotten your place? I only let you have this position to respect our father's last wish. How dare you threaten me?"

Noelle saw how things were going. Nathan is not strong enough yet to fight Stefan. If he loses now, it won't be good for anyone.

"Listen, you already saw him. The show's over, you all can go back home now!" Noelle cuts in between them.

Stefan pushed her aside, "Your brother just challenged me to a duel, you think I'll let that slide?"

"Nathan is a bit sick and is probably saying nonsense. You have no right to speak to him that way, you should leave now." Noelle replied.

"What? Are you playing with me right now?" Stefan was getting more annoyed that both siblings are trying to play with him.

"I am not sick Stefan. It's time for you to stop bothering me and leave me alone." Nathan said proudly.

"What? Don't..." Nathan stopped her from talking.

"Trust me. I've got this. Get the council elders and everyone else in the leadership to come here. They will watch the fight between me and him."

"Are you crazy? You can't just start fighting just because you found your mate! It's not like she accepted you yet!" Noelle scolded him.

Stefan is amused. He is a hundred percent sure that he's going to win. Though he's still cautious and curious of Nathan.

"I heard your mate rejected you. I know you can't do anything without her. Your mother must be so disappointed in you. I can't wait to see what you want to do. I hope you succeed." Stefan mocked. He got up to leave, obviously disappointed and angry.

"It's tomorrow, don't run away. Isn't that what your mother taught you? I forgot, your mother lacked manners too. It's such a generational trait." Nathan mocked back.

"How dare you? How dare you talk about my mother you wrench!" Stephen suddenly turns around and shoots a gun at Nathan before running away. The guards chased after him. Nathan fell to the ground.

"Nathan! Oh no!" Noelle and Riella rushed to him. "Call the doctor! Quick!"

His skin was burning and he was groaning in pains. He was having severe bleeding. Stefan just shot him with a poisonous bullet.
