UNRAVEL THE TRUTH

PEARL DAVIS-MALONE’S POV~

The cheerful sound of a small bell chimed in the hallway as my heartbeat danced in excitement.

“It's not tummy aches?” I asked again just to be sure I heard the doctor right.

“Far from it Mrs Davis-Malone, you are pregnant, about 6 weeks gone” he repeated, and it sounded like a miracle had finally happened.

After four long years of hoping……

I clenched the seat tightly as I imagined Logan's handsome face gleaming with excitement when I told him I was finally carrying his child.

I heaved a sigh of relief as tears streamed down my face, and joy beamed through me, finally, I was having a baby.

“But you have to be careful Mrs Davis-Malone, the baby is still very delicate, you must not engage in excessive activities that lead to stress, you know what im talking about” he mentioned before giving me a long hard stare.

I knew very well, he was talking about my mother-in-law, Abigail Davis-Malone.

I got up carefully, turned to the doctor and thanked him. He may have just saved what was left of my marriage with this exciting news.

The drive home was filled with silence and happy tears. ' I'm going to be a mother' rang over and over in my head, I touched my belly lightly before taking a left turn, and soon I reached home.

The estate of Davis-Malone, I married into old money so to say, they’ve been here for hundreds of years, they owned most of New York.

But I'd never felt quite at home since Logan introduced me to his mother Four hellish years ago.

Now I have something to bring to the table, the future heir to the Davis Malone fortune.

I met the devil as I drove into the compound, her mouth upturned, a displeasing look as she scoffed.

“Good of you to join us, we thought you had died, I almost had Robert get the dogs to sniff out your carcass,” she said before looking away.

I sighed, “Good day Abigail, do you know where Logan might be?” I inquired before stepping out of her way.

“My son should never have brought a diseased rat like you into this family, we are of royal descent, our family journeyed from Europe during the…”

“Logan? Maam?” I interrupted, she looked at me with anger before she pointed up to where his study was.

“Great! Thanks!” with that I zoomed off leaving the woman more bitterness than she had woken up with.

I couldn't wait, I had to tell him, I reached for the knob and swung the door open, “Logan im…”

I stopped abruptly, I paused and looked around. Logan wasn't in the room but when his chair swung I saw his brother, Liam sitting comfortably with his legs crossed.

“Why are you here? Where is logan?” I inquired, looking around confused.

He chuckled and got up confidently from the chair.

“Dead,” he replied.

“WHAT!” I exclaimed in shock, “You are a liar, he was alive when I left this morning!”

“Well, now he is dead, and I'm in charge now,” he grinned before walking towards me. And that means you, dear sister-in-law, are mine now.” He smiled, grabbed my arm, and pulled me close to him.

Way too close for normal.

“I promise I'll treat you better. Let me steal a kiss,” he whispered close to my ears.

“Get away from me!” I yelled before pushing him away from my body, but his weight on my body was too much for me to handle. 

“What do you say? Let's make a baby right now, my impotent brother has been useless I can tell” he continued before pinning me down on my husband’s work desk.

What is happening right now? Why is Liam doing this? Every other day he ignored my existence.

He looked deep into my eyes before lowering his lips to meet mine, I stood there in disbelief.

Just as I was about to push him off me, the doors flew open and my husband walked in his P.A Devina Daniels, smiling by his side, her blond hair sitting plum on her shoulders.

“Just what the hell is going on here, pearl?” he thundered before lunging at his brother, who grinned cheerfully before retreating.

 “Brother, she wanted it too, I promise. This isn't our first time,”  he continued. I turned in disbelief. I was shocked to my core and dumbfounded all at once as I sunk to the carpet below.

His mother came in with her poodle safely tucked in her arms, “I knew she was a treacherous rat!” 

“ He is lying!” I exclaimed as I got my voice back, tension built in every corner of my body as I felt my husband’s heavy glare on me.

He reached for me and grabbed me by my hair, “you’ve been cheating on me Pearl!” he thundered viciously.

He tossed me across the room and I hit the bookshelf before sinking again to the ground.

“I told you, I saw them last night, it turns out they have been doing this for quite some time now” Devina smiled before turning to meet my horrified gaze.

“I can't believe this pearl, I had to see it with my own eyes! Devina was right, you've been sleeping with my brother!” 

My lips quivered with fear as the three of them looked down at me where I sat terrified on the floor.

Maybe if I just tell him,

“Logan, im….”

“Logan and I are together now Pearl, and I'm carrying his baby since you can't give him one” she laughed before sliding her fingers between my husband’s and fanning herself with an envelope.

My heart sank, his baby?

Logan looked away, “what the hell is she saying? You've been cheating on me?” I asked, my eyes welled with tears, I couldn't believe what Devina just said.

“Only because you cheated first, and I can't have you under my roof anymore pearl, you disgust me!” he growled furiously.

He reached out and took the envelope from her, he took out the paper inside and flung it at me, and soon after he tossed me a pen.

With trembling hands, I raised the papers to meet my gaze, fear overtook my body as I stared back at my husband in horror.

“Logan!”

“Sign the papers pearl, right now!”
