Pearl’s pov~
The words clearly written on the paper jolted me up with the speed of lightning.
“A divorce?” I inquired, I ran to my husband who wouldn't look at me and Devina pushed me off before I could reach him.
“He is mine now Pearl, the next time you touch him again I'll make sure you regret it you barren whore!”
Those words penetrated my brain and like instincts I raised my hand to her face, a loud slap echoed amidst the room.
“How dare you try to come between Logan and me! Logan, are you just going to stand there? A divorce” I cried.
He pushed me away and I landed on the sofa opposite with a thud.
Tears streamed down my face.
“After everything! Logan, I sold my company to be with you! My parents disowned me because I married you! And now a divorce? You can't do this to me please!”
Logan was quiet, “ No one asked you to do all that, you just wanted to be a Davis-Malone so bad, and you can't even bear children so useless!” Abigail laughed.
“I'm glad my son finally got someone else pregnant, you have been a burden from the start.” she finished before pointing at the papers.
“Sign it pearl, we’ve hurt logan enough, we shouldn't have started this affair, I'm so sorry, but your wife just couldn't get enough of me”
His brother came next.
What the hell is going on? Am I being framed? Who put Liam up to this?
With the way Logan’s eyes glared at me murderously, I could tell he believed him.
So I decided to try one last attempt to save my marriage, for the sake of my child.
I crawled to him and clung to his pants.
“Logan, please don't leave me! Please! I can't live without you! I love you! It's all a lie, a misunderstanding…..”
He kicked my hand away from his body and banged his fist against the wall, shocking everyone present.
“Sign the goddamn papers pearl! I want you out of my house tonight!”
He thundered as he did lighting struck in the sky outside, and the weather had turned grey.
“Even our ancestors don't want you here anymore” Abigail snickered.
I was speechless, how did it get to this?
A few hours ago I was the happiest wife in the world, and now my world is shattered. My husband got another woman pregnant and now he wants a divorce. How can I accept this?
Maybe if I beg a little more……
I fell to my knees again, my hands pressed together as I pleaded for mercy from my husband.
Devina laughed and crouched down to where I was
“ So pathetic, no one would believe you were ever the Ceo of a Fortune 500 company, now see what you have been reduced to” she started before placing the paper in front of me.
“Sorry it had to come to this, sign these papers pearl so Logan can finally be done with you, you are no longer wanted in this family” she finished before getting up.
I looked up teary-eyed, it seemed Logan had made his choice.
But I won't accept it, this is not the man I fell in love with.
“No, I won't sign it! Logan look at me and tell me you don't love me anymore! It'll be a cold day in hell before I sign this divorce paper!” I yelled before running out of the study.
I bolted up the stairs and soon I heard footsteps following me.
“Come down here pearl!” I heard Abigail’s croaking voice echo through the quiet halls.
I locked myself in my bedroom and leaned against the door.
I can't believe this is happening.
How can Logan believe these lies? How long have they been together?
These questions hovered around my head, my head and my heart unable to accept reality.
Soon a loud bang on the door followed
“Pearl! Come out here right now!” I heard Logan yell as he banged continuously.
“No! I'm not throwing away four years of our marriage for their lies! Logan, they are lying to you, I never cheated on you!”
But my cries fell on deaf ears as the banging intensified.
“You are only worsening your situation dearest, come out and sign the papers” I heard Abigail’s happy tone.
I started to tremble and panic as they kicked the door aggressively.
“Why are you doing this to me? I never did anything wrong, I was a good wife to you Logan!” I cried, memories of the blissful first 2 years of our marriage flooded my thoughts.
“You can't give me what I want pearl! Now I know why, You are a whore and you can keep whoring outside the walls of my ancestor’s resting place, you will sign those papers today”
With that, the doors came down and an angry Logan came in.
He grabbed my arm and pulled me toward the cupboard, squeezed it tightly
“Logan you are hurting me!” I cried.
He slammed the papers against the door and Devina came in with the pen pointing at me.
“Nowhere else to Run Mrs Davis-Malone,” she smiled.
“I'll give you one more chance to piss me the hell off before I throw you out of this window” he pointed at the storm outside.
“Trust me, your parents won't care if you are dead, that much has been proven”
The words out of his mouth pierced my soul, after all, I had to go through to be with him, he betrayed me this way.
“Tell me you don't love me anymore and I'll sign it”
He put the pen in my hand and tapped the paper, “Your signature, right now I don't want you anymore, you need to go”
My heart was broken I gave him what he wanted, he smiled and gestured to the guard to seize me.
“Throw her out” he instructed, I was defeated and speechless as they grabbed my arm, too weak to put up a fight anymore.
“There’s a storm outside Logan surely she can leave in the morning?” Liam said in my defence, I turned to look at him, clear murderous eyes stared at him.
“If you wish to join her be my guest, I'll have it arranged!” he yelled before taking Devina’s hand.
“It's been you all this while, taking care of me, loving me, you Devina im sorry I didn't see it sooner, will you marry me?”
I heard my husband propose right in front of me.
She smiled and nodded her head before Abigail erupted in a cheer.
He leaned down close to her and pressed his lips on hers, kissing each other in a way I've only known him to kiss me that way.
My world was destroyed, betrayed and hurt. I silently prayed for revenge.
“What are you waiting for?, throw her out! I've got a wedding to plan” I heard him say.
Not long after I was hurled out of the Davis-Malone estate, I landed with my belly on the pavement with nothing to my name.
I'd given up everything to be this man’s wife and now I've been discarded like a piece of rag.
The rain poured down heavily and it was cold.
I tried to get up and my legs quivered in shock, I held the walls of the gate and gathered myself.
“Aaaarrghh!” I felt a sharp pain from my belly to my legs and back.
I felt a warm liquid sticking between my thighs.
I looked down hoping it was not what I thought it was, I touched between my thighs and raised my fingers to my horrified eyes
Blood…….
PEARL’S POV~“Oh my God! Help! Help! Please, someone, I'm bleeding! Logan!” I shrieked as I rattled the gates of the estate locked before me, the guards stationed out front ignored me.“Please help me! I'm bleeding!” I cried again but they stood there stoically in the rain, the downpour was much too excessive and the streets were flooded. “Logan you bastard you will regret doing this to me, argh” I screamed. One of the guards placed his comm close to his ear, and soon he pointed the gun at my face. “move it! Or I blow your head clean off, orders from above” he stated.I was horrified. Logan would dare to do this to me!Angry, hurt, broken and full of revenge I moved slowly in the rain screaming for help as blood trickled down my leg.I soon saw lights, but the rain blinded me and I didnt know if it was a car on the horizon or a motorcycle, as it drove closer I could see it was a cab.Thank goodness!“Stop! Please stop!” I cried in pain before jumping in front of it, the cab stopped
NICO D’ANGELO’S POVIt was here…It was right here in this study room when the doctor diagnosed my 3-year-old daughter with bone marrow failure.A genetic disease found dormant in my DNA, she got it from me.My heart shattered for her and I swore to do everything in my power to make her life easier. And now it's been an extra 3 years of battling this wicked disease. At first, we could manage it, my wife, her mother Lola was a match for her.Not only was my gentle daughter battling a rare disease she was also cursed with the rarest blood type in the world.Rhnull ….. the golden blood.Lola couldn't take it anymore, this is not the life I promised her.So when she decided to run off with her therapist I let her, as long as she kept her part of donating to our daughter she could run off with the devil for all I care.I loved her goddammit! PEARL’S POV~“Please you have to save her please!” he pleaded, his voice filled with worry as his grip tightened around me. “sir!” the nurse called, his eyes were fearful.Who is this woman I'm being begged to save? His lover, his wife?“Sir you are going to crush her!” the doctor yelled before pulling him away from me.He bolted out of the room leaving me in a complete daze. What the hell is going on? How can I help this man who just saved my life?“Relax pearl, you are safe, sorry about Mr D’angelo, he is just under a lot of stress” she continued, I nodded.“But I don't understand. Am I free to go?” I inquired, I heard a loud sound and then rounds of electric shock before someone finally heaved a sigh of relief when a different sound came back.“So she’s been stabilized then?” the doctor asked, leaving the room, she didn't answer my question, am I a prisoner here or am I free to go?“Doctor” I called out to her, she pretended not to hear, and so I raised my voice higher. “ yes Mis
Pearl’s pov~“What beautiful breasts you have” I heard a voice say before cold hands fondled them gently. The voice sounded soft, like a dream.I've heard this voice before….I tried to stir but my body was numb and it felt like I was bound up.“I wonder what happens if …..” the voice continued before I imagined her tracing her fingers down my body, but instead I felt something cold trickling down.Like heavy metal, it felt like a gun...I gasped in horror, realising what was happening, I opened my eyes and almost immediately I closed them as bright light penetrated deep into my eyes.I groaned in pain before turning away, and slowly I opened them again. As soon as I realised I'd been kidnapped, I saw a gun pointing at the middle of my face.A woman’s bright smile welcomed me as she held the other side of the gun firmly.“We were having so much fun, you've ruined it and now I've got no choice but to kill you if you don't do what we say” she grinned happily.Fear overtook me, I looked
Pearl’s pov~ “I don't need your protection, Nico, look I'm sorry about your daughter’s condition, she’s a sweet little girl but I've got problems of my own and I have my hands full, you need to let me go” The words left my lips like a dagger and I felt guilt chirping at me but the D’angelos and whatever is going on with them are not any concerns of mine. “Hmmmm” he started before gesturing for me to sit down. “My enemies Kidnapping you is the least of your problems Pearlita….” “Pearl” I subtly corrected him before sitting down. “My name is Pearl,” I continued before crossing my hands around my chest. He smirked before sitting on the sofa opposite me, with a poise and aura I could never understand. “I know,” he affirmed, giving me a knowing nod before looking down at my lips. “But pearlita suits you more, you remind me of someone, a woman…. Her name was Pearlita” his voice was soothing, they calmed me in ways I could never understand. How could a man who looked like a plain da
Pearl’s pov~ “So you've got the package with you?” I heard the line on the other end ask, Nico looked at me, I was confused, is he talking about me right now? Am I the package? As he spoke into the phone I realised his voice kept sounding like a woman’s voice, and now I was more confused. “Send me the drop-off location” and with that he ended the call, I was ready to bolt when he pulled me back laughing. With the wind in my hair, they blew into his face revealing corners I didn't take note of, like how chiselled his jaws were or how his beards connected in perfect unison. “I'm sorry about that,” he chimed, I glared at him, “What the hell was that nice, are you trying to hand me off?” I inquired further. He shook his head, that was Renata’s phone, I had her voice cloned to speak to her contact, I'm sorry you thought I was handing you off” he continued. I sighed, “you scared me,” I said looking away, he touched my chin, lightly raising my eyes to meet his, and for a brief second,
PEARL’S POV~I felt like the ground would open up and swallow me, one minute she was holding my hand and the next, she was lost in the crowd. How do I explain this to Nico?Frantically I plunged myself into the heavy crowd, screaming her name, I asked everyone I could but no one saw her.I realised I didn't have a phone and couldn't reach anyone for help. I ran to the swing hoping she’d gone ahead of me.I saw a girl, the same height as her, the same dress too. “Sophie!” I called out happily as I ran towards the little girl but when I turned her she wasn't the one, she screamed alerting her mother who quickly grabbed me and shoved me aside.“what are you doing!” she yelled.I raised my hands to her. “I'm sorry, I'm so sorry I'm looking for my…. A little girl, I came in with her, I lost her in the crowd” I explained, it took a lot more convincing as people were already starting to gather around us.“No! You tried to grab my daughter! You wanted to kidnap her!” she kept yelling and no
PEARL’S POV~ “Get out of the car ma'am” came the guard’s voice, Sophie clung to me, scared out of her mind, what child wouldn't, but I know one thing for sure: I'm not leaving this vehicle until I get my answer. “This isn't the beach house, who are you? Where is this place?” I asked, leaning forward till holding on firmly to Sophie’s hand. “There’s someone inside who wants to see you, both of you” he replied, before reaching for his holster. “So get out,” he added. I couldn't help but feel, this had something to do with Nico and what he was talking about earlier, I started to panic, what do I do? How can I keep Sophie out of harm’s way? So I did the next thing that came to my head, I lunged at the driver, whose strength was overpowering but I held on, “Sophie grab his gun!” Sophie reached for his gun and soon gave it to me, “Get out of the car!” I yelled, pointing the gun at him. “You don't know what you are doing, put the gun down it's dangerous” he stated, angry he hadn't se
Pearl’s POVThe D'angelo Residence had turned into an endless battlefield fought with whispers, sidelong glances, and carefully sown seeds of doubt and confusion rather than the typical swords and bloodshed. Camille was an experienced warrior in matters of this nature. She was a natural-born Amazon displaced from her people. Although Sophie had always been a bright and self-reliant child, something felt strange tonight, it lingered in the air and I could taste it. I didn't come out from my new room until later that evening when I was in there thinking about the worst. If this is a fake like Camille said then have I just destroyed my chances with August forever?Sophie, sat across from me at the dinner table, frowning and picking at her mashed potatoes, stabbing them with her fork, as if she were punishing them for something. "Not hungry, sweetheart?" I asked, attempting to sound light, she’d noticed I'd been distant all dinner long.“I overheard Aunt Camille talking,” Sophie admit
Am I in a dream or is this real?I was drifting…. My body felt weightless, stuck in a dream that didn't feel like mine, it felt like I was watching another version of me getting her happy ending.A part of me that wanted Nico too, somewhere between truth and illusion. Like a scene from a movie I wasn't sure I had agreed to star in, the wedding played out in front of me, I saw myself shocked beyond reasonable doubt, my mind in endless fractions, imagining and reimagining scenarios.Nico was in front of me, something I couldn't quite put my finger on smouldering in his black eyes. What was it that covered his beautiful hazel eyes as he gazed upon me?Love? Want? Lies? As he spoke his vows, his smooth and deep voice enchanted me.And I still couldn't believe what was happening. "I knew” he started, touching my lips softly, “from that night I saved you from that car wreck I knew you were going to be my wife” he smiled. What were these words flowing out of his mouth?“ I recognized som
NICO’S POVAll I could see was Sophie's little hand holding mine as the celebration whirled around me, complete with music, laughter, and the soft murmur of conversation. She looked excited, as though she couldn't wait for her special day.Even at the age of seven, she possessed her mother's keen gaze and quiet resolve. Her mother was Pearl, in this case, the confusion lingered.Who exactly is my daughter’s mother?"Are you certain of this? There’s no going back now Sophie, are you sure you want it" I crouched to her level and whispered. She smiled toothily at me, her loose tooth smiling at me."Don't you trust me?" she giggled.I let out a sigh and shook my head. That problem I do, a grown man trusting a child, what has the world come to?” She fled with a loud giggle, squeezing past guests like a cunning sprite, waving at them and shouting “It's my birthday!” she let out a giggle. At that moment, my grandmother came over, her shrewd eyes piercing me, she tapped my shoulders ligh
Pearl’s pov~Something is off with Nico, what did he mean by he knows they are up to something?I thought he had believed them, but still, there was a familiar disdain when he saw August coming around or calling to familiarize last-minute details with me.I had created a beautiful wonderland on the D’angelo Estate. Beautiful floral arrangements adorned the tables, a magnificent carousel had been prepared for the kids, and sparkling fairy lights streamed down the marble archways. Only Sophie, Nico D'Angelo's daughter, could have such a spectacular birthday, a birthday fit for a princess of her status, no expense was spared.I watched as they mounted a wedding podium right after it.It sickened me to watch Tilly strut around making final adjustments for what seems to be her wedding day.I navigated the crowd, feeling alienated at a party put together. Sophie's day was supposed to be today, but now her aunt had put her selfish interest and had convinced her father to follow suit.Key
Pearl’s pov~I knocked while my fingers were shaking in the dark hallway outside Nico's door, my heart beating like a machine was pounding yam on top of it. I had been caught off guard by the vow renewal, what the hell was that? How did Tilly get him to do that? And where the hell was the guard when this was going down? I should have never asked her to pretend now she thinks it's all real? But still, my mind raced endlessly and I couldn't get over it.What was this feeling I felt? Hurt? Why do I need to hear it from him? I needed clarity, I needed closure. My heart was broken, I thought we had something special together and now he is marrying a woman faking this to upgrade her lifestyle! He was wearing a black silk robe, his hair still fresh from a shower, when the door flung wide, he groaned softly, yet weakly as he held his side. The corner of his mouth tipped slightly as he saw me and he raised an eyebrow, he grinned and winced in pain again.Swiftly I walked to his side."You ju
Pearl’s POV~Sophie’s seventh birthday was just days away, and I was drowning in last-minute preparations. With Nico’s sick ass at home, Camile has been making my life miserable, and Tilly is MIA. A birthday fit for a princess—that’s what I wanted for her. Balloons, a cake so big she could barely reach the top, and a day so perfect she’d forget, even for a moment, that our lives were entangled in chaos. She hasn't needed my blood in a while, the doctor says everything is going fine, “she’s a fighter” He smiled as I fought back tears. It had been an amazing family reunion between Nico and Sophie, he seemed to remember her now but he called her my daughter too often and it made me wonder if he still thought I bore sweet Sophie. But, of course, Camille had other plans.I should’ve known, everything with her was a fight, a fight no one ever took my side for.And I was sick and tired.Everything was going smoothly until it wasn’t. Orders were mysteriously cancelled. The venue manager cal

Pearl’s POV~Blood stained everywhere. I stared in horror as my heart beat out of control. When we first got to Nico's hospital room, I noticed dark, drying stains on the sheets that spilt on the floor like someone had attacked him.“What the hell happened!” August exclaimed, looking around frantic.I sank to the floor. What if, just what if he has been killed?“Is he dead, August? So much blood, I can't...August hugged me, wrapping his arms tightly around me. “I dont want you to think about this; he probably escaped, so something,” he comforted me.I saw that his IV stand was knocked over, a chair was flipped, and the air smelt of something metallic and antiseptic smelt like a fucking hospital. He had left, or maybe been kidnapped! My heart pounded against my ribs as I frozen in shock. Adam muttered a curse and then gave the security squad orders. August was already on the move, looking at the cameras in the corridor."This isn't good," Adam said to himself. "He was being closely
