Chapter One Hundred and Thirty

Emma’s POV

“Is that all your stuff?” Liam asked, grabbing my bag from me as he loaded up the car.

“Yeah”.

“You sure?” he looked at me skeptically. “I don’t know if you know this but you kind of sort of tend to forget things in certain places”.

“Wow,” I dragged out slowly. “So that’s what you think about me?” I smacked his arm.

“Seriously, Emma. You’ve got to stop hitting me,” he whined, massaging his arm. “Any more of this and I’d have to report you for abuse”.

“I’d like to see you try,” I scoffed, sticking out my tongue at him.

“Such a child,” he rolled his eyes. “Wait a minute,” he paused and scanned me. “Where’s your locket?” he asked, tilting his head to the side a bit.

“Oh my God!” I shouted then ran back inside to get it.

“There. Now I’m all set,” I said, putting it on as I walked back out of the cabin. “Thanks for reminding me. I’d have been devastated if I forgot this here”.

“I can imagine. It’s no worry though. I’d have always come around to get it if you did leave
