“You have to help me Aster. I can't deal with this again,” She pleaded, her voice breaking as tears rolled down her cheeks.
Aster looked up from the newspaper he was reading and glanced at the girl begging at his feet. She was in slightly tattered clothes, her hair was disheveled and she had visible bruises on her sking. He ignored her and continued reading the newspaper.
She move closer to him on her knees, holding his leg as she cried, “I'm begging you. All you have to do is say a word and that'll be it. I'm tired of this suffering Asper,” he still didn't reot her and kept reading the newspaper, “I'm your mate so why are you letting all these happen? Why would you let your rogues treat me like this?”
He froze at her words and turned to her in anger. “What did you say?” His voice was dangerously low but she didn't notice as she was too busy bawling her eyes out.
She looked up at him, her eyes red from crying, “I’m your mate. How can you let your rogues molest me and treat me anyhow?” she sobbed, her head dropping to the floor as she sobbed violently into her palms.
Asper dropped his newspaper on the table and squatted to her level. He held her chin in his hand, staring coldly into her eyes, “Are you questioning the decisions of your leader and your mate, Rizine?”
Fear enveloped her as she stared into his eyes. She couldn't even cry again. She shouldn't have said anything. She shouldn't have tried to get him to help her. He never did and she was sure he never would.
She had been mated to him years ago when she was accepted into the rogue pack. She had been happy when she got there since she had no family, but she was so wrong.
Not only did her Asper, her mate and the leader of the rogues molest her and treat like she was worthless, but as the only female in the rogue pack, she was always being molested by the other members. She was treated badly by them and he never did anything.
Mates were supposed to protect you, but he was different. He loathed her yet kept her. She didn't understand why. “Why do you hate me?” The words left her mouth before she realized it.
Asper chuckled, “You’ve got to be kidding me. Don't start playing the victim game here Rizine.” He stood up from the floor and walked towards the side of the room.
Rizine stood up, “You hit me, torture me, abuse me over and over again. You treat me like the worst thing ever so why do you keep me?” Asper turned back, shocked by her words.
“Since when did I give you permission to talk back at me? Who in the world do you think you are Rizine” he was now edging closer to her, anger in his eyes.
Rizine whimpered as she stood up from her seat and began walking back, not taking her eyes off him. “I’m sorry,” she apologized, “I just got carried away and my emotions got the better of me.”
Asper stopped and laughed hysterically before stopping and sending her a cold look, “Answer my question Rizine; tell me who do you think you are? Talking back at me and questioning my decisions?”
Rizine tripped over her leg and fell to the ground, a loud cry escaped her lips as her head hit the ground. Asper walked over to her and yanked her hair, making her cry even louder.
“You’re nobody Rizine, and don't you dare address yourself as my mate. It's truly disgraceful. I don't want to be associated with a mate like you but I won't reject you. I'm not that bad a person,” he smiled sinisterly as he began unbuckling his belt.
Rizine's eyes widened as she realized what he wanted to do. Tears brimmed in her eyes as she watched him, “Please don't.”
A knock was heard on the door as soon as Asper was done unbuckling his belt. “Who’s there?” Asper snapped, irrated by the disturbance.
“It’s Jason.” A baritone voice boomed from outside. Rizine let out a sigh of relief as Asper let go of her.
“Come on in,” Jason walked in and gave Rizine a disgusted look before bowing his head to Asper respectfully.
“What brings you here today?” Asper asked, sitting back down in his seat and picking up his newspaper. Jason glanced at Rizine unsurely.
Asper, who noticed it said, “Ignore her. She's not important and she dares not leak information… not like she has anyone to leak it to,” He snickered making Rizine look away.
“It’s concerning the Wolfsbane sir,” Jason started. At the mention of 'Wolfsbane', Asper's eyes lit up as he dropped the paper.
“What about it?”
“We know where to find it sir.”
Asper raised his eyes questioningly and gave him the go ahead to speak.
“We discovered that the Wolfsbane will be exchanged between two powerful werewolf packs as a declaration of peace…” Jason went on and on about the details. By the time he was done, Asper already had an idea.
”Good job Jason. This is why you're my right-hand man,” Asper complimented Jason.
Jason smiled, “Thank you very much Boss.”
Asper nodded and dismissed him, “You can leave now,” Jason nodded and excused himself from the room.
Asper stood from his seat and turned to Rizine, “You want peace and joy, eh?” he started making her look at him suspiciously.
He continued, “I don't need to go into the details since you heard everything but basically, you'll be the one to bring the Wolfsbane to our pack here,” he told and, before she could say anything, continued, “You’ll go to the bar where the exchange is taking place as a seductress and bring us the Wolfsbane.”
Rizine stared at him in shock and disbelief, “Hell no!”
“What did you say?”
Rizine immediately took her words back, “I’m sorry Asper. I meant to say I don't quite understand what you're saying I should do.”Asper went back to his seat, “You will go to the bar tomorrow as a seductress and distract everyone, giving us the chance to steal the Wolfsbane,” he calmly explained.Rizine was beyond stunned. She knew he didn't love her or care about her but she had no idea he despised her to such extents. He was asking her to be a seductress and degrade herself. She was beyond horrified at how much he loathed her and disregarded her, but she wouldn't give up.She calmed herself down and in a low tone, said, “I can't do it Asper. I'm sorry but I'm incapable of being a seductress.”“You said you wanted a good life. A life free of stress and pain. A life of happiness. A peaceful life,” He paused and looked at her.She was confused. Why is he bringing this up? “Yes, I did, but what does that have to do with anything we're saying?” She wanted to add 'But it's a far-fetched
CHAPTER 3“Kilan, hurry up, what's taking so long? We don't want to be late for the exchange, you know,” A guy leaning against the car yelled, staring at an open door to a huge mansion.“Keep it down bro, I'm on my way,” another voice called and after a while, Kilan, the exact replica of the man leaning against the car, rushed out.“What took you so long?” the man asked.“Loosen up a bit Milan. We're not going to war. We're just going to get the Wolfsbane from the Moon shadow pack,” Kilan pointed out.Milan rolled his eyes, “Oh, wow! I really didn't realize that. Come on let's go,” They were about getting in the back seat when a voice boomed.“Sons, wait,” The voice of their father boomed and a man with slightly similar features to theirs walked towards them.“Alpha,” The twins bowed respectfully, making their father howl in laughter.“I already told you not to call me that. I'm your father not your Alpha,” He told them.Milan glanced at his watch, “At this rate, we're going to be lat
Milan picked the unconscious girl in his arms as Kilan rushed over to them. “Is she okay?” Kilan asked staring at Rizine's peaceful face.“I don't know but we have to hurry back to the pack,” Milan told him before looking around to see the battle was still on but Asper was nowhere to be found. Milan looked at Kilan, “Where’s that rogue?”Kilan shook his head negatively, “He escaped and the Wolfsbane is gone—”“Which means he stole it,” Milan completed Kilan's sentence.Kilan sighed dejectedly, “We don't have time to talk about him or sorry about a stolen Wolfsbane. We need to ensure she's okay first.”Milan agreed with him and they both made their way through the chaos and towards their car. They got into the back seat and headed for the pack. The twins had felt a strong connection with Rizine when they saw her on the stage which was why they had been so focused on her. They didn't care about her dance or whatever she was doing because they could feel the sadness and reluctance within
“I’m Milan and this is my stiff, twin brother, Kilan,” Milan introduced himself and his brother.Kilan glared at his brother before turning to Rizine with a sweet smile, “Ignore him, he doesn't know what he's saying.”Milan scoffed, “What are you talking about? You clearly showed it when you began interrogating a lady who hasn't fully recovered from what happened to her.”“Sorry about that,” Kilan apologized nervously.“It’s okay, really,” she chuckled.“Why were you there at the bar?” Milan asked.Kilan snapped his head in his direction, “Now you're the one who's interrogating her,” He muttered triumphantly, making Milan look at him like he had run mad.“I’m getting to know her, your cyborg,” Milan told him.Rizine chuckled. Their relationship was truly beautiful and now she wished she had a twin or even a sibling. Someone she could fight with, play with, share all of her sorrows and worries with, but she didn't even know who she really was, talkless of something like that.“So, why
Alpha Jared stepped out of the house and headed to the royal garage to get one of his cars. He couldn't wait any longer. He had to find out who the girl was. He had to know if his gut feeling was right. She had the mark on her right cheek. That was enough reason to have him unnerved, and he was not gonna relax until he finds out if she was really the lost daughter of the True bloodline pack. Over the years, he'd done nothing but try to find out clues about the missing daughter of the true bloodline pack. Her disappearance had been an impossible feat for her parents back when they were still alive. They looked everywhere and did all they could do. But there was no sign of her. It's like – she never existed.“Your Majesty,“ The royal chauffeur bowed at him, ready to be at service to him. But the Alpha snatched the car keys away from him, “Don't worry, Mike. You don't have to come with me. I wanna go alone,““But–” Mike, the royal chauffeur, tried protesting. It didn't feel right to le
There was an icy silence in the room and it went on for minutes. Rizine curled up in fear and stared at the twins in horror. Her lips quivered and her hands trembled, she had to ball them into a fist to try to keep them steady.Their sudden coldness had her thrown off balance. Just a few minutes ago, she'd thought they were the warmest twins she'd ever come across. And now, this? They were suddenly giving off sinister vibes? How could they switch so quickly?“Yes, or no, Rizine?“ Milan repeated sternly. It was hard to maintain a poker face but he did. As much as he hated to scare her like this, they had to do whatever to compel her into staying with them. Just until they figure out what it was that had them drawn to her.“What– but I – “ Rizine couldn't make out any coherent words. But the words laid on the tip of her tongue. She wasn't a dancer, what she did back there at the club was just putting up a front. Her dance skills were mundane. Just a few basic steps she picked up from t
Kilan was the first to speak, and he was barely audible, “What happened here?“ He asked, tears garnering up in his hazel eyes. It was the first hazel eyes Rizine ever came across, and it was alluring and held a dose of warmth a few minutes ago in their palace. Right now, all his eyes held were tears and unanswered questions. She was trembling and she hated it. And one swipe of her gaze over her appearance, she thought she looked like the culprit. Her hands were covered in blood, she was shaking in fear, she couldn't say a single word in her defense, and just let them judge her with their eyes. She looked guilty, even when she wasn't.It was unfair to her the way they were reacting right now. How could they not let her speak first before tagging her as the murderer? Even without them saying it, she could see it in their eyes. And it only made her lack the coordination to speak up for herself.“What did you do?!“ This time, it was Milan's glacial voice sending shudders down her spine. S
Three days after the twin Alphas' Father's death, the boys were summoned to the meeting room by the elders of the pack. There were still some unresolved matters and they had to get to it. It was midday, and the elders had been waiting for hours, but the boys were yet to show up.“What's taking them so long?“ One of the elders murmured, checking his wristwatch. It was already past midday. They've been seated here since 9 in the morning. Surely, the twins were trying to prove how impertinent they were.Damon noticed the growing uproar in the meeting room and ran off to go get the twins again. He got to Milan's bedroom and knocked impatiently. He was pissed. This has to be the tenth time he came to call them for the meeting. They were being blatantly rude, and it was to his fucking detriment.“You know it's open, Damon,“ It was Kilan's voice, drawn in a tired tone. It wasn't a surprise that he was in his twin brother's room. Their delay to the meeting was a conspiracy between both of
