NIKKI'S POV

I lay on my bed, my eyes are fixed on the ceiling. It's almost midnight, but I'm still wide awake. After that text message, I haven't heard from Gale again. No calls, no text message, and when I called him, I went straight into his voicemail. I exhaled a frustrated breath, wondering what he's been doing by this time.

I sighed for the nth time, I couldn't help but to think negatively. I have been in a broken relationship, and it scarred me to the point that I find it hard to trust anyone again.
