Dustin POV

I lay on the bed of my savior, an old wolf who had found me bleeding and had chosen to have pity on me. I was barely alive after Kai’s attack on my body.

But thankfully she’d seen me, and she’d been able to nurse me back to health.

It’s been four days since the attacks happened, and I spent the days thinking of all possible outcomes of the war.

The old woman who found me wasn’t a part of the Howlers pack, so she couldn’t provide me with current information on the Howlers pack.

But she did provide me with hers. She was part of the Crescent pack and lived in the outskirts of the park's village, where Kai’s base was a mile away from here and where she’d found me.

My eyes tilted to the entrance door, where she had just entered carrying a basket of freshly farmed goods.

“I see you’ve awakened. How is your health?” Her warm smile reminded me of my mother’s own. I kicked the memory to the back of my head, not ready for any form of hurt.
