Callox POV

I stayed by Rayell’s side throughout the night, trying to get hold of my spiralling emotions. Her hands had been clutched to mine all through the night, along with droplets of my tears, raging from my frustration of not being able to talk to her because of the same people who had now decided to turn their backs on their king.

I so regrettably wish I had run away with her. That way, she wouldn’t have a thousand-year-old spirit in her body. She’d still be awake and happily by my side.

I managed to fall asleep in the royal infirmary with her body next to me. When I opened my eyes, I was in a cottage far away from the palace. Rayell was awake and swimming by the river near the cottage. She looked so beautiful and was giggling so wonderfully.

I noticed she was in her undergarments and was playing with a tiny version of her and me, a little boy and a girl. When they saw me, they cheered my name.

“Dad!!” they called out with brimming excitement.
