Chapter 77

Matt and Williamson were chatting at the reception desk. Williamson was reassuring Matt that Goldman was crazy about Patty and he was willing to go to the ends of the earth to make things right with her.

“I hope your right, Williamson,” Matt said. “It’s more than her being an invaluable employee here. She’s like a sister to all of us. I would miss having her around.”

“Me, too,” Williamson said. “And her cooking. I love her lasagna.”

“Don’t forget her baked spaghetti,” Matt said.

Williamson chuckled. “Remember when she made that strawberry cheesecake from scratch and she wouldn’t let any of us touch it?” He smiled. “It’s for Goldman. It’s his birthday,” Williamson mocked in a high-pitched female voice.

Matt laughed. “Oh, god, Lawrence was pissed,” he said and chuckled. “I can’t believe I didn’t pick up on how she felt about Goldman back then.”

“You had a lot going on back then,” Williamson said.

“True,” Matt agreed.

A college student ran up the stairs. Matt hired her as a temp to do so
