Aminu
I was devastated. I could barely sleep or eat knowing that my fiancée wasn't speaking to me. I hadn't seen or spoken to her in two weeks and Louis was not helping matters at all. He never allowed me close to her, talking about 'you weren't loyal to her'.
I knew very well that it looked bad, what I did. But I had an explanation that apparently nobody wanted to hear. I took a large gulp of the whiskey in my glass and poured myself another one, taking a large drag off the cigar in between my fingers. This was what I had resorted to in order to ease the pain of my love being far away from me.
I looked fondly at the bracelet on my wrist which had her name on it. I bled in my heart about this scenario we were in at the moment. I had lost count of the many bouquets I had sent to her house and office everyday for the past two weeks with no response back.
Aminu"Here, got this for you" I said giving my lover the gift I bought for her. She reluctantly took it, looking at me skeptically."I hope you didn't go spending millions on this, I'll just cry." She said and I laughed."No no. Just open it baby" I said smiling at her.She opened the long and slim box to reveal a silver necklace with a sapphire pendant. Her jaw dropped."Aww this is so pretty" she said gushing over it. I knew she would think it was expensive. It actually wasn't, well not by my own standards anyway."Babe. These look like diamonds" she said giving me a look while inspecting the chain."Yeah.. um they are actually. The blue sapphire in the middle is your birthstone." I said trying to spare myself the lecture that was coming. She had told me before to tone down the expensive gifts for now when she foun
ZaraIt was the weekend and Aminu and I decided to spend it together in his house. Especially since I would soon be living with him as his wife, it would be good to get to know the house and get acquainted with it.I was currently in the kitchen whipping up an Igbo delicacy for him. I was making Ugba (shredded oil bean) with goat meat and Palm wine for him. I had gotten the palm wine from a vendor here in Lagos who had so many good reviews. This was the very first time I was cooking for him so I wanted it to be sumptuous.I was already in the final stages of preparing the meal when i felt a set of powerful arms wrap around my waist."Mmm. That smells lovely baby." He said and kissed my neck."Thank you. Wait until you taste it." I said, trying to ignore the things that Aminu's touch and kisses were doing to my body.He bit my ear and whispered "what if I want
Zara"Mm this is delicious. You know, I've never had this dish even though my mother is Igbo. She's more gourmet than anything else. But this is spectacular. I've been missing a lot..." Aminu complimented, but all I could think about was the anxiety associated with the fact that Aminu's mother was coming to town soon and I would soon meet her.Contrary to what people thought, I wasn't not very excited to meet her as the scenes with me and the rest of Aminu's family members weren't very delightful or pleasant. Meeting her might very well solidify the fact that none of them would accept me. Well I still was not sure where I stood with his father. That was also a problem."Baby.. Zara" Aminu tapped and called before my mind came back from wonderland."Oh, sorry what were you saying" I said blinking rapidly. I didn't know what he said beyond missing a lot."I was saying how I love th
ZaraWhat was she doing here? I was already very relieved that my prospective mother in law was being super nice to me and now my nightmare on legs walks in? Was this a curse or what?Aminu's mother also looked disturbed. Lakisha was probably a known problematic figure."Well, what an awesome surprise" Aminu's mother said."Hi mom" Lakisha said walking towards us. I looked at Aminu who looked very pissed. He seemed like he was giving his sister a warning through his eyes.Lakisha walked up to us and gave her mother a hug. "Hi bro," she said, not bothering to hug him or acknowledge me. It was expected though since she had made it abundantly clear that she didn't like me."What are you doing here Kiki you didn't tell me you were coming," Aminu's mother said looking very worried. Something wasn't right."Well, am I not allowed to come see my
AminuI immediately pulled over because I was literally seeing red. Zara had just told me that she saw a resemblance with my son and Patrick? Patrick?? I was livid, why would she ever think that."Aminu why'd you pull over" she said with surprise."What the fucking hell are you talking about?" I yelled. I was glad I didn't use my driver today. This was a very private conversation. She closed her eyes and sighed "I.. I haven't been able to look at that boy closely but today, I saw his face very well. I had a good two minutes to look and him properly and thank God that your family compound is bright at night. Try picturing Nasir's face beside Patrick's" she explained.I almost got angry at her but then again, she may have a point. I didn't need anyone to tell me that Zara is literally the most observant person I'd ever seen and very smart as well. Most of her words were accurate. An
ZaraTayo and Tiara's wedding, tagged The T2 Affair was just a few days away and we were getting prepared for it like our lives depended on it, mostly because of Tiara's crankiness and perfectionist attitude. Tanna was fed up but I really didn't mind. I hadn't started planning my own wedding but who knew I could be worse.Aminu was actually better now than few weeks ago when I told him about the resemblance between Patrick and Jasmine. He told me that he managed to get a few strands of hair from Nasir and would proceed to getting a test done on them both and also I advised him to get them to check if they were related in any other way. This was to be sure if Patrick was the father of that child.I went into the Matopeda stall where Anita, Tanna and Tiara were already waiting for me. I came in late because Aminu came to my office in need of a quickie which was enjoyable but the stunts he pulled sometimes were very
Zara."So Lakisha..." I said but was abruptly cut off"Kiki.. please call me kiki" Lakisha interrupted and I smiled."Kiki it is.." I said and she continued eating "why didn't you like me at first. Is it just what Jasmine told you or something else.""Well, partly what Jazz said about you but more like, I didn't really know much about you prior to that so I actually thought your intentions weren't pure. She also made it seem as though you were stopping Aminu from coming close to his son." She said.I smiled "well, Aminu and I don't even discuss Jasmine and Nasir. Some times he talked about Nasir but never Jasmine except she did something. And I don't control Aminu. He's a man that handles his business his way. I don't meddle even when he involves me." I said and continued with my food. I just had to clarify things with her so that
Zara.It was Tiara and Tayo's white wedding day or should I say Pink wedding day by virtue of Tiara deciding to be rebellious and wear a Pink wedding dress. We were all in the hotel getting read and Tanna and I had our own room with Lakisha who decided to join us there. Anita was the maid of honor so she had to stay with the bride. The hotel suite was littered with makeup products, hair products and boxes that belonged to us and the makeup artists and ring lights everywhere. We all stayed in a corner doing our makeup when Aminu FaceTimed me. He looked fresh and already wearing his groomsman suit with dark sunglasses on."Hey Princess" he said through the phone."Wow you look good." I said not able to hold the complement in. He really looked breathtaking."Of course I do." He said. Ve
