Christopher walked to the giant hole in the wall he had created when trying to incinerate Markous looking out over the city breathing a heavy sigh, hanging his head low and shaking it.
"What's wrong? At this rate the city is as good as yours? Shouldn't you be happy?" Brisia asked walking up the wall before hanging upside down looking out of the hole too. "See your people are already working on the third gate. Isn't this what you wished for?"
"I'll admit.. I wasn't expecting to get that old bastard's approval, but this didn't pan out as I had hoped." He shrugged watching balls of fire rain down upon the noble district from the trebuchets outside the city.
"Sooo you didn't want the city?"
"Pftt I could give two shits less about the city. I wanted the power that dwelled down here. On that note I suppose you could say this was a success. But by the gods the more I was stuck in the presence of that asshole, the more I want to feed his head to a thousand small animals. Just gotta hope the less older notebook is willing to play her part now.... And I wish this wound would hurry up and heal already. Fuck that shit hurt." He declared glancing down at the still open wound that was slowly sealing up.
Brisia shrugged her shoulders. "Suppose it's a lesson for letting your guard down. I promise when the gods truly target you, they'll all have weapons that hurt much more than their old or defective ones."
"The gods come for me? Old and defective?" Christopher raised an eyebrow glancing up at her. 'Well not too sure I like the sounds of that, but hey most the known world already wants me dead, why not a few gods too?'
"Do you really think the gods are going to give their greatest assets to humans who can fall to corruption on the drop of a hat? You are close to two fallen goddesses. More so you've formed pacts with them, even if mine is only a minor one. If they haven't noticed you, they will. And eventually they'll see you as a threat."
"Fuck the gods. They've never paid attention to me since the day I was born. Why would they start now?"
"Ahem forgetting two of them already."
"You're fallen, you don't count."
"You cheeky little bastard! I don't think anyone has ever had the balls to downplay my existence of the very few that have ever met me or not!"
Christopher sighed brushing aside the indignant goddess. "Well either way they're not my concern. If they attack me, or mine, then I'll respond as best I can. Until then my main concern is Robert and Aldous now that this mess is wrapping up." Christopher then turned to the floor where Markous's arm lay a little on the crispy side but mostly intact. Using his foot he kicked the arm up, snatching it up mid air.
"Gods this bit is taking some getting use to." He grumbled as his facial features began slowly changing. His cheeks split open his head elongating a little as he opened his mouth and multiple rows of razor sharp teeth began growing in place of his regular teeth. Leaning back holding the arm above his head he began allowing the remaining blood to pour from the severed limb into his mouth as he drank it down, wringing every last drop from it he could. If there was one thing he recently had become aware of, blood is power. The more powerful/ ancient the person the stronger it would make him. Whether it was temporary, or permanent he had no idea. But one thing he did notice was he felt as though he had done some drug, ran a marathon and was ready to stay awake for another day or two.
As the flow of blood came to a stop he took a large bite of the arm as if it were nothing more than a snack like beef jerky. It was mentally disgusting, but his less than human side made it so the taste was nothing more than a meal lacking some spices. Once he finished consuming the arm, his physical features slowly began returning to normal.
"Yea definitely not something I should grow use to." He said his whole body shaking as a chill ran down his spine.
"So what now?" Brisia hummed. "Going to conquer the world while avenging your friends and family?"
"I really don't care about conquering anything. If I could get Robert and Markous to simply meet me in the field and kill them, chances are I would just return to Helenfel and live out my life."
"What about all these other people who are following you? Would you simply abandon them?"
...
Christopher stared at the ground for a brief moment before finally breathing a deep sigh and scratching the back of his head. "Damn... No.. No I couldn't do that. At the very least I would see to it this country is theirs, but I still have no interests in conquering, ruling, or even being a noble. I truly don't know what would hap-.... Huh.." Christopher stopped noticing the black what resembled a tattoo.... was moving as though an invisible needle was going to work finishing the tattoo.
Christopher eyed it with suspicion. "Is that poison still in my system? Or an after effect from that holy sword? I don't feel any side effects of poison though, and apart from exhausted I'm beginning to feel normal again despite a still rather sizable hole in my back."
"Hmm?" Brisia who had been looking out over the city turned her attention back to Christopher.
...
!!!
She leapt down from her gravity ignoring perch taking hold of Christopher's arm the ink looking substance was still a little above his wrist but was still going.
"OOOooo!" Brisia danced in place excitedly turning back towards the hole holding her palm out whispering. "Come see your human." After finishing the sentence she gently blew on her palm as though blowing a kiss. The message would soon find it's way to Aleisa with little doubt.
"Hmm.. You know what this is?"
"Oh yes I most definitely do. Though we won't know precisely what until it's finished."
"Huh... Okay I guess?" Christopher shrugged it off figuring nothing sinister was happening so 'Oh well.'
Brisia looked up from the ink that was already halfway down his hand making it's way towards his fingers. Her smile was one that was downright chilling. One of someone who enjoyed witnessing others in pain to be more precise. "This is going to hurt... A LOT."
"What do you mean?" Now a little past halfway down his fingers. "So far I feel as normal as I ca-AAAAAAGH!" The moment the ink touched the tip of his fingers he was overcome with an intense pain that burned as bad, if not worse than the holy weapon Brock stabbed him with. "Wha- What the fu-AAAGH!" He cried out in pain again. His world began spinning. His body felt as though it were being ripped apart from, as if tiny specs of metal had somehow circulated it's way throughout his entire body, and someone held a high power magnet against him and all the pieces were trying to rip through him.
"The fuck is happening!?"
"Ooooh this is good I can't wait to see!" Brisia declared jumping for joy. "I haven't seen anything like this in... Well never , I've only heard about it!"
"What the fuck about this is good!?"
Though Christopher felt as though any second would be his last, Brisia was clearly enjoying every moment of his torture.
'Sadistic bitch!' Christopher thought to himself as the world quickly began spinning. He had sustained gods only knows how many injuries throughout the years, but this was definitely taking the cake. The greatest bitch was he couldn't even suffer through it in silence, he had to watch from the ground as a crazed goddess laughed and smiled down at him as though he were a zoo animal or an attraction at a circus.
"Oh shit.." His vision was darkening. The pain was so unbearable he was beginning to lose consciousness. 'All I can do is pray to the gods you can't feel pain while your passed out.' And those were is final thoughts as his eyes closed to the world his head dropping to the ground with a thud.
Brisia wasn't bothered in the least by his current state. She danced around his body absolutely giddy. A minute after Christopher passed out from the pain, Alesia began manifesting from thin air close to the pair. Immediately upon see how giddy Brisia was, she was already suspicious. Especially after being banished and becoming a god of one of the hells there was very little that made her this happy or excited.
Then her eyes finally found Christopher collapsed on the ground.
...
"What in all the hells did you do?"
"Hey! Why do you automatically assume it's me?"
....
"Because it's you."
..
"Okay that's a good point I admit. BUT! This time it had nothing to do with me! As a matter of fact I'll have you know I saved his life!"
"Yea sure you did."
"What!? Oh come on! I actually did! It hurts my feelings you don't believe me." Brisia pouted her lips looking away from Alesia.
"Probably because I know you better than any of the other gods."
"Okay fair point, but it still stings I'll have you know! But quick, look at his arm!"
Brisia sighed before taking a glance at him.
...
...
!!!
At first it didn't even register what she wasc seeing. "Wait does this mean Markous is-"
"Nah he lived, but our boy here took a chunk off him.. .Literally."
A grin even broader than Brisia's began spreading over Alesia's face. "He's going to be -"
Thunk.... Thunk..."Riggy... Any day now..""Y-You d-don't rush perfection!" Mortis groaned as his nerves were being grated against by a rather pushy spirit. "E-Elise if you think you can do better, by all means t-take over!" He snapped back.Thunk! Thunk!"Well look Riggy.. I don't mean to be pushy... BUT PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO FUCKING KILL US!" Elise roared flapping her arms up and down like they were wings.Fwee! As though on cue an arrow zipped between their faces, mere millimeters from giving Mortis a nose piercing he didn't wish for....."S-See not that bad.." He stood his ground glaring back at Elise who could only return his gaze with wild eyed disbelief.Thunk! Thunk! Thunk! Thunk!"That's because there's a wall of shields protecting you and your wrinkled ass!"Thunk! Thunk! Thunk! Thunk! Thunk! Thunk! Thunk! Thunk! Just a little earlier"This is big! This is really big!" Brisia grinned ear to ear as she paced back and forth hardly able to contain her excitement. Her little walk even leading her up the walls and onto the ceiling dancing, and skipping, somehow defying gravity."Shit! Shit Shit!" Alesia growled through grit teeth. "I knew something was coming, but even I never imagined this!" Alesia's current mood was about as close to polar opposite of Brisia's as it could get. 'This is the last thing we need currently! If they find out, especially in the middle of this war, we're seriously fucked! Like fucked on the level I was when all the other gods betrayed me and had me cast from the heavens! Perhaps even more fucked!'"I still can't believe it! I mean I suppose when you look at his track record it would make sense, but holy shit!" Brisia exclaimed. "Not just immortal but he's turning into a god.""I know... More so a god of death." Alesia groaned. The completed 'tattoo' pretty much confirme
Multiple days had passed in the City Of Darkness following the surrender/purge of any still resisting dissidents. And life had begun returning to normal little by little after the bodies were removed from the streets. Havoc's army had upheld their orders. Those who surrendered were allowed to return home without any recourse for fighting against their new host. Neither the members of The Black Guard, nor their militia counter parts caused any unnecessary damage, nor did they loot and pillage the city. Frankly apart from the angered nobles who's homes had been bombarded during the siege, the city was peaceful and upbeat. The stalls were open, any artisans were back to their crafts. The children ran and played in the now cleaned streets that had been soaked in blood not long ago. Guards were posted on every wall and street corner. Christopher and the other leaders involved weren't fools. Though they had been merciful, eventually there would be some who would try fighting back. They e
Inside Helenfel. "Right here." Cassandra pointed at a section of her map sprawled out on the table. "This will be the perfect place." Andrea walked around the table to stand next to Cassandra looking down on the map. "Hmmm good call. When they emerge here they'll be in a bottleneck." "That's not all. They'll be coming around a corner too. They wont be able to see our army waiting for them until it's too late. We'll also have archers along the cliff tops. that can shoot down on them." "Why not have our archers continue firing down on them the entire stretch? That's miles of cliff ledge we could use to thin them out." Garrett asked retracing the path on the Albrael army was taking. "Because we don't want to give away our archers. The reason we've barely had our men harass them the past day was leading up to this moment. Most of all we don't want them to double back, leaving the kill zone we've set up." "Isn't there a chance they sent men to the top of the cliffs too though?" "We
"They used siege magic on the rear line?" Alexis asked with a furrowed brow. "Why would they expend so much magic on the rear line?" To Alexis this didn't make any sense. If they were using it as an opener to an attack from the rear, it would definitely be justifiable. Have your men rush in taking advantage of the destroyed lines and chaos. But using siege magic alone and backing off, would be like someone taking a shotgun to kill a spider inside their own house. Beyond overkill. If they had struck the center of their lines, their commanders, or even their supply train, Alexis could understand the expenditure. Most magic users could fling spells they specialized in for a majority of the day. But siege magic? The average mage could use it four times in one day, but be severely weakened for the next couple of days. Sure they could use siege magic again the next day, but each day without a proper recovery time the power of the attack would be cut in half. "Well sir it seems the rear l
My day.. Let me tell you something about my day. It began like any other, which is to say bad, hell I'd go as far as to say miserable. Since the start of the day I was harassed, walked in on a situation I didn't want any part of, had a group of thugs try to kill me, and a stray princess was forced into my care... Today began as a miserable day. But now... Now that the day is over... Gods has it been a good day. Earlier in the morning."Remember today not only are we celebrating the end of the war that has allowed our great nation to flourish, we will also be feasting to celebrate the great union between our Prince Halbert whom is the pride of our nation and the Emperor's daughter Princess Sarah Everheart!" yelled a crier from atop the podium competing with the sounds of the market. 'Yes. Yes. We get the message. I'm amazed he still has a voice.' The young man thought to himself. 'The poor stooge has been up there for the past week announcing the same thing and giving updates on pro
"Giving this poor soul yet another lecture? Come on Angela cut the poor man some slack." A male voice said, lightly emitting a chuckle. Angela and Christopher turned to look at the laid back voice. A tall muscular man with slicked back blonde hair strode up to them with his hands clasped behind his head. By all definitions... A pretty boy. Christopher himself was not a bad looking man but the way women mostly looked at him and Thomas was night and day different. While Chris was fairly muscular himself he didn't have the bulging arms like Thomas and has Black shorter, messy spiked up hair and blue eyes. Not exactly an attention grabber compared to his friend Thomas. Rich, Charismatic, and built like a stone wall. "Thomas you shouldn't encourage him! Things like that are one of the biggest reasons most of the school looks down upon him! His attitude towards other students and classes is known by everyone as hostile and uncaring. How many times now have they tried to throw him out? If n
"Hello Elise" The beautiful woman was now standing in front of him, with a beaming smile that could melt the hearts of anyone that was lucky enough to see it. He could say with certainty that it was a smile that would captivate any man and bend them to her will. Happily she was not that type of person though. "Hello handsome, turns out it was a good thing I delayed my shopping trip for dinner today." "Haha" Christopher gave a feeble laugh unable to make eye contact with her, he couldn't help but to feel shame. She lifted him by his chin giving him a soft smile. "After the life you've lived, I'm amazed that you've come this far. Regardless of how you feel. I'm proud of you." She declared planting a soft kiss on his lips. As far as Christopher could think of there were three to five people in this world he honestly loved and would do anything for. She was the one thing that held him together in this new life. Whenever he thought he was no longer able to take it, she always knew what

"HAHAHA JUSTICE SHALL BE DELIVERED!" Vale cried out as though she were a poor soul who had been denied justice by the courts for far too long.BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM!The ground erupted all around both the twins and the behemoth of a Vampire. The girls quickly turned their backs to one another taken by surprise, readying themselves as best they could considering their injuries. Their eyes caught a glimpse of a creature emerging from the earth, and it was almost instant. The pair blinked and by the time their eyes opened the massive beings were already hovering well above their heads."You've got to be shitting me." Lala mumbled."If she could do this, It would've been nice of her to have done something sooner." Laura huffed her arm dangling limp by her side.Though still on edge the twins felt they could finally breathe a sigh of relief. The pair took several steps back returning behind their friendly lines. While the Vampire they had been battling constantly had a very differe
RAAAWR! A roar ripped through the caverns as the ground beneath their feet began to shake violently. Many people from both sides of the battle looked around trying to find what kind of ferocious beast could emit such a blood curdling sound. "I haven't heard a roar like that in thousands of years." "I've never heard that kind ever!" Their eyes scanned the surroundings. Looking side to side, up around the cavern ceiling, only to find nothing. The monstrous sound was far to loud for anyone to mistakenly assume they had just imagined it. The rumbling earth began shaking harder and harder although you couldn't physically see any movement, the people could feel the movements underneath their feet from whatever was coming, like a slithering serpent snaking it's way through the grass. It felt as though the very earth beneath their feet may collapse at any moment. If anyone in the vicinity were to claim the gods were angered and unleashing their fury on the city, many wouldn't doubt the w
This day and age when someone says an army they think professional soldiers, fighting and killing is their bread and butter, it's what they train for, it's what they're paid for. Their job consists of nothing besides honing those skills. Training and searching for a way to improve upon the ability to kill, to take the life of another human being. But there's times where an army consists of ordinary people, every day people. Bakers, smiths, teachers, sometimes even the students, people you who have never seen combat, mix these people in with some trained soldiers who're willing to advise and educate these people, and at times these armies can be just as dangerous as the professional ones. When you have a reason to fight, whether it's for a better life, to protect someone, to make a name, for your country, even if for a moment it places you at odds with it, you can become a force that's mighty. With no identifying uniform, the enemy will never know when they're about to strike. A man,
