Ferrahs Alpha Mate
Ferrahs Alpha Mate
Author: MBQuezada

Prologue

“Welcome to Falls Hollow Alpha Banner, is such an honor to meet you” my father says as he shakes hands with the alpha of a semi-new pack that’s started to gain members made entirely of the banned and a few rogues or runaways who left their pack for a number of reasons.

“Thank you Alpha York such a gracious host and its so kind of you to allow us nomads to pass through your small slice of heaven on our search for unclaimed land to the north” Alpha Banner says to my father while clapping him on the shoulder.

My father motions towards our house and I step away from my bedroom window and make my way downstairs to be polite.

Wren was against this alpha and his pack passing though as was I, but out of respect for our father and his strict rule of always give a second chance to those who were never given it we stayed quiet.

The stairs slightly creek as I make my way down them, catching the attention of my father brothers and alpha Banner. “Here she is” my father says extending his arm out for me “And this is my youngest daughter Ferrah” once I’m at my fathers side he brings me in close, wrapping his arm around my shoulder.

“What stunning eyes” One of the men at alpha Banners side says.

“Hello” I softly say holding my hand out for a polite handshake.

“Your mate is a very luck man miss Ferrah, you are absolutely beautiful” alpha Banner says after releasing my hand. A blush waves over my skin at his compliment.

“Oh no my sunflower here isn’t of age yet.” My father chuckles “And with three over protective brothers its next to impossible for and of the younger pups to even talk to her let alone get close enough to try and date her” my father chuckles again and makes a dramatic show of whipping his brow. “Shall we” my father says motioning to the dinning room.

We all shuffle our way through the short small hall that separates the open kitchen and dinning room from the living room. My father started to remodel our house after my mother dies when I was two, but he still hasn’t gotten around to knocking this stupid hallway down to complete his idea of an open concept home.

Once everyone is seated I help Mona and Harriet, two of the house staff who were also ay one point in time runaways to bring out the plates, cups, cutlery and the food. Mona and Harriet are sisters who had ran away from their pack after their alpha wouldn’t take no for an answer on making Harriet his second wife…. Which is something frowned upon in the eyes of the grate alphas and Lunas who rule over the rest of us. Mona says that their luna was unfertile and that made their alpha go mad so they ran and found them selves, starving and weak outside our borderlands, my mother took them in and well… they’ve been like family ever since, but they work here as house staff because they see it as repayment for the kindness my father showed them.

Harriet actually found her mate here and moved our of the alpha house four months ago and is now expecting her first pup.

“So alpha Banner” Tanner says after taking a bite of his steak “How long have you been moving north”

“Mmh” alpha Banner hums then quickly finishes chewing “We started moving from the outskirt of Halo Rindge Pack outskirts about” he looks over to who I’m assuming is his beta then looks back at Tanner “Two weeks give or take a few days” he nods a little nod and his beta stands.

“Excuse me where is your restroom”

“Oh uh, its this way” I says standing from my spot and led him back out into the living room and up the stairs “Sorry about this, my fathers remodeling the one downstairs” I giggle lightly as I point to the door on the left of my bedroom. “The door gets stuck somethings so just give it a good little push and it will open right up” he gives me a lopsided smile and walk to the bathroom door.

Making my way back down stairs I see movement out the huge windows above the landing that look out over the woods that lead to the pack houses I halt and try my best to hone in on the movements. Shadows dance around in the trees and an uneasy feeling starts to set in the pit of my stomach. Slowly I back my way up the stairs and down the hall past the bathroom, pushing Wrens bedroom door open with a small squeak I back myself into the room and find the small service door that’s used for the laundry and clime inside.

Shouting and hollering soon rings out around the house, echoing voices dance around in my head and I feel dizzy and confused as to what it is. My dads voice calls to my in my head and its then that I understand that it’s the first time I’ve been able to hear them through the mind-link and that scares me more then anything. Its being forced and makes my head spin. Being the daughter of and alpha comes with restrictions on our wolves and ability’s, we don’t develop our mind-links until were mated or take over our fathers packs as alpha Luna’s.

‘Run’ my brother wrens voice yells forcefully in my head and I stagger to breath when the reality of the situation hits me. One by one they call out to me until my head fills with nothing but a defining silence. They are dead they have to be, that’s the only reason that makes since as to why I no longer hear them, or feel them.

The floor above my head creaks and groans under the weight of the heavy footsteps that rush and stomp around upstairs, pushing me to hurry to the farthest end of the basement to where there’s a above ground door that land out into the forest behind the house.

Pushing the door slightly I peer out seeing the coast is clear and dash for the woods and head south, heavy foot steps break branches and the shuffling of pine nettles and leaves announces that I’m being chased. Changing direction swiftly I dodge into a burrow and quickly start to rub mud and old fur of what ever animal once called this place home all over my skin and dress to try and mask my scent.

Silence falls around me as the screams and cries of my pack die down to nothing. Staying put for what feels like hour, I slowly start to peek out of the shallow hole I had been hiding in, sniffing the air around me, noticing my new sense of smell further driving home the reality that I’m all that’s left of my family, meaning that I have now become an alpha luna with out a pack or a place to call home. Sniffing the air again the foul stench of rotting flesh and iron from my murdered pack members permeate the air and forest floor around me.

Crouching down beside a bush I listen it for any sounds before I start running through the woods heading to the west boarder where I know it meets with Suns Peek pack, the alpha is a friend of my fathers and I know he will take me in if he needs to until I can gather what ever is left of my pack and those who were able to escape.

Dodging slain wolves and half-shifted bodies I hold back the sobs that want to crawl up my throat and keep pushing forward, only I’m suddenly knocked to the hard forest floor with a scream. Standing over me is a dark brown wolf with bright hazel eyes and a scar along his snout. He snaps and growls as he pins me further into the mud, before biting into my left shoulder and dragging me back in the direction of my house.
