Spoiled by My Ex’s Uncle 3

LEILA MILLER

She is not wrong, deep down, I have always felt that there was something wrong. I know and can feel it. However, I just chose into ignore it, brushing it off as me being paranoid but now, it was proving hard to deal with.

The sudden sound of Matt’s phone buzzing by the side ended the conversation between my wolf and I, just as he groaned and I turned my head around, trying to focus my attention on him just as he reached out for the device

“What is wrong?” I asked, my voice low despite knowing in my mind what his response would be. It was always about work, always, and something tells me at this moment that it would be about work as well.

His lips tugged into a deep frown, a crease forming between his brows. “I have to take this,” he said, “there is an urgent meeting that I need to join.”

My eyes glanced at the digital clock by the side of the bed, noting the time being 1:20AM. Where does he want to go at this time? A meeting this late?

I watched as he quickly hit out of the bed, almost in a rush and then hastily out in his outfit.

I could not help but ask, my wan lips tugged into a deep frown. “Is every thing okay though?” I asked, my voice low and cautious. “What happened this late?” The emergency that could warrant such should be a rogue attack, but his expression does not appear as do.

But Matt did not look at me as he buttoned his shirt the rushed fast to out in his pants. “It is just work at the company, do not worry about it.” He said, without much thought as he got ready entirely.

His phone suddenly rang again, and he tapped the answer button just as he stormed out of the room, answering the call in hushed tones as he left me alone in the room, with a sudden unease dawning on me.

But it was just me that felt that, my wolf felt the same thing, only she is more determined than I am. “We need to follow him,” my wolf urged, sounding certain. “I am sure there is something, Leila and you know it too.”

This time around I did not argue with her, too caught up in my own pile of worries that I knew she was right. So, I slipped out of the bed as well, slipping in my night robe to cover myself as I trudged out of the room and followed him quietly.

I heard his voice coming from the study a few doors down, and I found myself strolling towards it, the voices from inside becoming clearer as Matt’s voice came.

“Faye, darling, speak slowly okay. Calm down. I will find a way to get blood for you from her. It is just that she has become more stubborn, and is refusing to donate the blood needed. But I will find a way to get it out of her.”

I leaned closer to the door, trying to hear his words more clearly.

There was a brief, momentary pause, before his voice came again. “Yes I know very well Faye that if she refuses to donate boood you will not get better. That is why I will make sure she does from now on. I do not care if she has to die, I will make sure you get that blood, Faye. I promise you that.”

The room around me spun as w hole, and I gripped the nearest thing to me which happens to be the door frame to steady myself. My blood? He had been using me this whole time just for the sake of my blood? All those years of donating my blood, thinking it was some kind of precaution because I was a rogue as they all claim. And only now am I finding out that it was for her…for this woman.

For Faye.

Her name left a bitter taste in my mouth, one that I can barely stomach and in a desperate attempt to get away as black spots were covering my vision, I hastily turned around and ran back to my room.
