Mía told her goggle homes decide to turn on her lights and start her wifi coffee maker. Goggle said it was time for her to get up and stretch. She got up to do some light yoga and admired the woman she saw in her bathroom mirror. She could never quite adjust to the thought that this was her now, her long dark brown hair that dropped to her waist in waves of carefully highlight and lowlights of lighter brown throughout. Sometimes she would touch her face to make sure she was really the person in the mirror.
Dragging a finger across her plump lower lip lightly she finally concluded it really is her. She exists as this tall, slender, yet curvy woman. She would even check the different áreas she had surgery on and slather scar crean on it although the scars had healed so nicely that they were hardly visible. She attested that to her strict skin routine and múltiple scar removal láser treatments. After admiring herself a moment longer she seriously looked herself in her hazel eyes that appeared more green today and said aloud,”Alright you are Mia and today we will conquer this interview!” With that she finished her skin care routine and brushed her teeth running to grab the coffee she had forgotten she already had made an hour ago. She loved her coffee machine she only wished it could add its own sugar and cream. Technology has advanced but not that far yet. Therefore she would still have to put in her own and stir. She was greeted by her cat Nema and heard her dog cry from her bedroom in frustration as she was a small dog that couldnt get off the bed on her own. She had gotten Mary pet stairs but Mary was a little princess that refused to use them. As she went to grab Mary with her coffee in one hand the door buzzed. Mia opened her camera app and saw it was Chris, her pet sitter and her oldest friend. She had run into him a year ago in town, luckily he hadnt recognized her. They began a friendship Mia was so happy that although he didnt know her true identity that he was still as kind and genuine as he had been in high school. She regretted letting Alex come between her and Chris’s friendship. She struggled sometimes with her inner contemplation on if she should reveal her identity or not. Right now she just wanted to focus on her goal. She rushed to the door yelling out, “Coming! One sec!” She unlocked the door and thrust it open only to be met with a confused glance from Chris than he covered his eyes. “Uh sorry am I to early?” Chris said hesitantly. Mia was confused as she looked down and realized she was in her lowcut silk pajamas and short silk shorts still. She asked him to come in and sit down and ran to her bedroom to throw on her silk rob. “Sorry Chris! You caught me running a tad late…” Mia cleared her throat after her statement. Chris finally uncovered his eyes. Chris said,”No problem Mia where is Nema and Mary? How long do you need me to hang out for again.” Me looked at her 6’5 friend sitting on her couch his blue eyes looked playful and his shirt was tight around his biceps she hadnt remembered Chris looking like this before. His short hair looked perfectly tussled and blonde. Mia realized as her eyes met his that she had yet to answer him. He looked at her expectantly as he waited patiently. “Right, uh sorry Chris my heads all over the place let me grab Mary you know Nema’s just hanging out somewhere. I just need you to stay a few hours is that still alright?” Mia asked looking at Chris. “Of course, I got your back! Ive never seen you so nervous what gives? This interview is really not that big if a deal I’ve seen your resume Mia, Alex would be even dumber than I thought if he doesnt hire you.” Chris said this with a hint of detest. For just a moment his body had went rigid as Alex’s name left his lips. His fists had unconsciously closed into fists and his eyes looked cold. But the response sounded pleasant enough. Mia asked,”Are you ok Chris you look mad do you know Alex?” Chris looked unsure as he responded,”Yeah something like that.. Look if you get hired just keep your distance hes not a nice guy… and I am not sure why you want to work for him but if your going to just…. be careful. My offer still stands for you to come work at my real estate office.” Mia sighed before speaking,”Thank you for the offer I just have to work with him a short time to build my portfolio a bit more. Then maybe I’ll take you up on your offer. I gotta go Chris!” Mia ran to her room and dresses quickly into a form fitting pencil skirt a white cashmere turtleneck sweater she tucked into her skirt and her black stilettos pumps. She went to the restroom and finished her hair and make up. As she grabbed her Marc Jacobs black tote bag she realized she set her coffee down when she answered the door. She rushed into the living room nearly knocking Chris down in her rush. She hurriedly apologized stepping aside and grabbing her coffee off the side table along with her keys. When she locked eyes with Chris he looked shocked. “What?” She asked. Chris responded quickly,”Nothing I just dont think I’ve ever seen you were anything but sweatpants and big shirts. Good luck with the interview.” Mia thanked him quickly as she rushed out the door into the elevator to the parking garage. She breathed before sitting in her car. Her goes nothing as she pulled out of the parking garage.Alex had several interviews lined up today to hire a personal assistant who is also a realtor for the days his schedule simply does not allow time for him to sell. The position paid extremely well since it required 2 jobs in one. This had brought out fierce competition for the position. After the 5th interview he wanted to throw his coffee at the floor to ceiling windows in his office. He frustratingly called in his current very pregnant and useless assistant. She scuttled in keeping her eyes on the floor. Alex yelled “Why is there not one competent person who applied Carol?” Carol stuttered,”I-uh am not sure.” Carol’s voice had always irritated him but lately it was like scrapping metal on a chalk board. He groaned in disgust.”Just get out your as useless as ever. Send in Mia whatever her last name is in 20 minutes I need a break.” Carol hesitated by the door her chunky figure casting a large shadow by the door. He had originally hired Carol with the intentions of getting close to
Mia exited the large three story building admiring the outside as she walked on cloud nine. Finally, her time for revenge had come. As a smile crept onto her face she continued to look at the building with one hand cupped to shield her eyes from the beaming sun. The building was made with large window panels all throughout. The large window panels giving her a majestic feel about the building. The whole building reminded her of a giant rubix cube that was mid turn to having the colors shifted. The inside however was very clinical, and clean not much color lots of dark tones and subdued greys. Large black vases with fake plants that must have costed a pretty penny as she barely was able to notice it was indeed fake. Embarrassingly enough she could only tell when she poked the soil and felt the foam give a little. Some foam came off in her hand she discreetly covered the small foamless spot with some of the fake roots. That was when her name had been called so she quickly brushed off h
Friday began as a normal day, Tess Fairmont woke up, made breakfast, coffee, and feed the cats. Just a regular day like any other of Tessa Fairmont’s slow paced days. But that was a day that became a day that changed her whole life’s trajectory in an instance. It was November, Tess had just gotten done with her shift. Alex and Tess had been having more fights frequently. Tess got home and noticed empty beer bottles strewn about the room. He’s drinking again she thought. She had just told him if he drank again she would have to end their three year relationship. She thought to herself that she should have just said nothing. Alex was really struggling under the pressure of work. She was sad but resigned, how could she help him if he doesn’t see it as a problem. She decided she would go grab them some food from Wendy’s to help sober him up and get a breather. Once the cool wind hit her she felt like she could relax and think carefully as she put distance between them. Lost in thought
As Tess looked in the mirror she was met with a round face, chubby cheeks, and dark circles that had formed from years of sleep deprivation under her eyes. Her hair was a tangled unruly mess of dark brown curls framing her face and resting just under her shoulders. Not to long, not to short of a length, her eyes looked more green today the hazel had a tint of red dirt brown along the black ring and green in the inner part. Depending on the light and her clothes her eyes would change from green to a light brown. She stood at 5’11 which has always been considered tall for a girl and weighed a whopping 363lbs. Most people guessed she was around 250lbs as she still had an hour glass figure and carried most of her weight in her ass and thighs. She still had a belly but overall she gained bottom down first but lost weight top first. This has been Tess’s life since she was 16, obviously she weighed less when she was younger but this was her reality. She sighed as she grabbed her tooth bru
As Tess prepared for potential interview questions from Alex, unwanted memories began to flood in. Even though Tess was in her silk pajamas and they were her most comfortable pair the memories began to make her feel physical discomfort. The image of a drunk Alex yelling at her and throwing her work phone completely shattering the screen and spitting in her face after she had just gotten home. Tess closed her eyes tightly together as she thought of Alex’s handsome chiseled face with cheek dimples and brown green eyes darkening as he looked at her with contempt. No sign of his dimples in sight, the green of his eyes completely darkened. Whenever Alex drank he took out a lot on Tess. When they argued Alex would tell her things like her mom and sister never loved her and they don’t care for her at all. He would say no one would ever want her but him. That he made her better and anything good she was if he wasn’t around was because he made her that way. He once threw a controller at her
