As Tess looked in the mirror she was met with a round face, chubby cheeks, and dark circles that had formed from years of sleep deprivation under her eyes. Her hair was a tangled unruly mess of dark brown curls framing her face and resting just under her shoulders. Not to long, not to short of a length, her eyes looked more green today the hazel had a tint of red dirt brown along the black ring and green in the inner part. Depending on the light and her clothes her eyes would change from green to a light brown. She stood at 5’11 which has always been considered tall for a girl and weighed a whopping 363lbs. Most people guessed she was around 250lbs as she still had an hour glass figure and carried most of her weight in her ass and thighs. She still had a belly but overall she gained bottom down first but lost weight top first.
This has been Tess’s life since she was 16, obviously she weighed less when she was younger but this was her reality. She sighed as she grabbed her tooth brush. As she reached for it her hand went through the glass and her image disappeared. In front of her was the ground coming at her fast as Tess flailed her arms and legs helplessly. Tess realized she had fallen into the mirror and was plummeting straight to the ground. Right before she smacked the pavement she jolted upright in her bed. Her pajama top clung to her drenched back. She let out a sigh of relief before standing up slowly. God this dream keeps coming the closer she gets to her reunion with Alex. It’s been 4 years since Tess confronted him with her evidence and he screamed at her calling Tess a fat bitch and telling his mother he was just using her. She left the next morning without a word. She had no idea where she was going but she just knew she had to get there. Alex had to learn that what he lost was more than just a girl. He lost someone who truly loved him unconditionally. Someone who had tolerated 3 hard years of helping him battle his alcoholism. Who stood by him no matter who went against him. That was not the first time Alex had tried to step out on their relationship. It was just the last and final time. The cold splash of reality that needed to snap Tess awake. He won’t change until he loses it all. Starting with her. For 4 years Tess bided her time working on herself day and night. Tess got her realtors license and began selling houses. Once she had enough stocked away she got the gastric sleeve Alex had always discouraged her from getting. By year two she had finally made it to 145lbs. For her height that was perfect. Her finances were comfortable Tess wasn’t rich but she was making a decent amount. She afforded herself excess skin removal surgery. After she took some time healing she went and got a full mommy make over. It included a tummy tuck, bbl and breast lift. Some days Tess didn’t even recognize herself. Her hair now touched her butt. Ever since Tess started getting Brazilian blow outs her hair was straighter and no longer frizzy. She often thought she should forget about Alex and just live a happy life and start new… but her heart wanted revenge for the Tess she had buried that day. The old Tess, the invisible one. Especially when now she realized the stark difference between how people treat her now versus how they treated her before. Strangers are kinder and dull out compliments like she couldn’t believe. Before though Alex wouldn’t even add Tess on his social media because he was worried what people would think if they saw her ugly photos….. Now she never asked for anything people would willingly offer her things left and right. Tess just had to find out if Alex could figure it out and if he even thought of or regretted losing her. Tess had to make him feel her pain. The pain he caused her. Tess wanted him to know it was her and that from this point forward he could never have her again. There was so many things Alex had done to her in those three years that she was to blame for partially because she had stuck around. Tess therefore put herself through all this pain to better herself as well. To become so untouchable that Alex would never get another opportunity to be with her. He would realize The new Tess that has been going by Mia Landers for the past 4 years was someone he could never attain. She wanted him to feel the weight of their difference in leagues. Only then could she feel ready to finally set their shared past go. Mia closed her eyes as she prepared for her interview with Alex’s realtor agency. She had built a fantastic resume as a realtor. She was finally going to put that to use against Alex.As Tess prepared for potential interview questions from Alex, unwanted memories began to flood in. Even though Tess was in her silk pajamas and they were her most comfortable pair the memories began to make her feel physical discomfort. The image of a drunk Alex yelling at her and throwing her work phone completely shattering the screen and spitting in her face after she had just gotten home. Tess closed her eyes tightly together as she thought of Alex’s handsome chiseled face with cheek dimples and brown green eyes darkening as he looked at her with contempt. No sign of his dimples in sight, the green of his eyes completely darkened. Whenever Alex drank he took out a lot on Tess. When they argued Alex would tell her things like her mom and sister never loved her and they don’t care for her at all. He would say no one would ever want her but him. That he made her better and anything good she was if he wasn’t around was because he made her that way. He once threw a controller at her

Alex had several interviews lined up today to hire a personal assistant who is also a realtor for the days his schedule simply does not allow time for him to sell. The position paid extremely well since it required 2 jobs in one. This had brought out fierce competition for the position. After the 5th interview he wanted to throw his coffee at the floor to ceiling windows in his office. He frustratingly called in his current very pregnant and useless assistant. She scuttled in keeping her eyes on the floor. Alex yelled “Why is there not one competent person who applied Carol?” Carol stuttered,”I-uh am not sure.” Carol’s voice had always irritated him but lately it was like scrapping metal on a chalk board. He groaned in disgust.”Just get out your as useless as ever. Send in Mia whatever her last name is in 20 minutes I need a break.” Carol hesitated by the door her chunky figure casting a large shadow by the door. He had originally hired Carol with the intentions of getting close to
Mia exited the large three story building admiring the outside as she walked on cloud nine. Finally, her time for revenge had come. As a smile crept onto her face she continued to look at the building with one hand cupped to shield her eyes from the beaming sun. The building was made with large window panels all throughout. The large window panels giving her a majestic feel about the building. The whole building reminded her of a giant rubix cube that was mid turn to having the colors shifted. The inside however was very clinical, and clean not much color lots of dark tones and subdued greys. Large black vases with fake plants that must have costed a pretty penny as she barely was able to notice it was indeed fake. Embarrassingly enough she could only tell when she poked the soil and felt the foam give a little. Some foam came off in her hand she discreetly covered the small foamless spot with some of the fake roots. That was when her name had been called so she quickly brushed off h
Friday began as a normal day, Tess Fairmont woke up, made breakfast, coffee, and feed the cats. Just a regular day like any other of Tessa Fairmont’s slow paced days. But that was a day that became a day that changed her whole life’s trajectory in an instance. It was November, Tess had just gotten done with her shift. Alex and Tess had been having more fights frequently. Tess got home and noticed empty beer bottles strewn about the room. He’s drinking again she thought. She had just told him if he drank again she would have to end their three year relationship. She thought to herself that she should have just said nothing. Alex was really struggling under the pressure of work. She was sad but resigned, how could she help him if he doesn’t see it as a problem. She decided she would go grab them some food from Wendy’s to help sober him up and get a breather. Once the cool wind hit her she felt like she could relax and think carefully as she put distance between them. Lost in thought
