CHAPTER 23ONE YEAR LATER Kendall was busy preparing for her meeting, she was sure that she would be seeing Blake, hopefully he would send Ryan in his place, she was nowhere near ready to see Blake. She cried months for him, she was so distraught by his lack of trust, always his face that last time she saw him would haunt her. He looked completely defeated, like a child who just lost their mother. Kendall's heart ached every time she remembered that look. Not one month after she returned home she sent him divorce papers granting him all of Michael’s shares, so Blake would be majority owner, Kendall decided to sell her share and start her own empire. CHAPTER 24Blake wanted to leave, he didn't want to be around Kendall anymore, he wasn't paying any attention at all to anybody, his eyes kept scanning the room to see where she was. When Max his lawyer asked him to go into the conference room to finish off paperwork, Blake was certain that Kendall's lawyer asked her to do the same. He told Max he'd be there in five. Blake needed to prepare himself to be near her after all this time. Blake entered the conference after her took a few minutes to prepare himself and entered the room. Kendall and her lawyer were sitting on the end of the long table. Max was also there. "Ah we can begin?" Max the definition of a lawyer. CHAPTER 25Blake looked at the letter and shook his head, what the hell was that about? Augustus Hasting had planned the entire marriage, he and Michael Lucius plotted this whole scheme. Why did Blake feel like he had been duped? Not by Augustus or Michael but by his own father. Why couldn't Blake see what everybody else seemed to see or to know about Thomas Wyatt? Ryan had always suffered at the hands of his father and all because Blake was too much of a coward to stand up for his brother and above all his mother.Blake always associated his father’s abuse to his mother as punishment for sleeping around but come to think of it, the only time anything about her adultery was mentioned was about Augustus, so why then did his father abuse her long before they even knew of Augustus Hasting? CHAPTER 26Kendall spent the next week waiting to hear from Blake, nothing. It was like he didn't want to be around her or Ryan, what else could she think? Confusion set in, he seemed so affected by Ryan and suddenly nothing, maybe he thought about it and perhaps came to the conclusion that Ryan might not be his child. CHAPTER 2Walking in as husband and wife, everybody at the reception were on their feet applauding as they entered the hall. CHAPTER 3Blake grabbed her arm and pulled her behind him. He was always a reasonable man, always calm and fair. He loathed the Hastings for as long as he could remember. He especially hated Kendall's father Augustus. Which in turn made him hate his only daughter the spoilt, over indulged little brat. She was her father’s reflection. She acted like Augustus, always looking down at everybody else, never giving in to demands and always ruthless in order to get his way. He had studied her father, Blake was actually intrigued by Augustus Hasting, everybody called him the king, because of his hard all or nothing nature and sure enough his daughter was named the princess.
