Chapter 10

Ava Martin was on the screen as one of the top Actresses in the city.

The shoot for that day was over and she was back home.

She was in front of the television, watching the news, it was about her being so good at what she does.

There was a bowl of popcorn in front of her and a cup of juice as well.

She would dip her hands into the bowl and take some popcorn from it. She would also stretch herself to take the drink as well.

Chris walked into the room. He had not gone yet, and that was because Aurora would not let him go; he had to follow them to the hotel room so he could please Aurora.

" You are so good. Look who is on the screen again," he said.

" They can not do without me, I happen to make the news, I'm the one always talked about"

" I guess I manage you so well. Look who is being recognized again and again." he raised his shoulders up at how good he was at managing Ava.

" I should get your pay increased," Ava burst out laughing.

" That should not be a joke," he said.

He stretched forth his hands and took a handful of popcorn from the bowl.

" I should head back to my room; I've put Aurora to bed," he said.

" Ooh, that's so nice of you, thank you" Ava placed her hands on her chest.

She was most grateful for how good he was with her daughter.

She stood up and went to the door.

Chris opened the door and stood outside.

" We have a free day tomorrow, what are you doing?" He asked her as he leaned forward.

" I do not know, but I will find something to do once the sun comes up" she answered.

" I'll be waiting for you then" he walked away.

She closed the door and returned to the television that was in front of her. She somehow loved sitting down in front of the television watching people talk about her and how good she was.

She looked at the time and saw how far it had gone; she got up and turned off everything, and then she headed to the room.

Her eyes went to Aurora, who was sleeping peacefully on the bed. She sighed when she thought about Caleb coming to know about her daughter.

Her heart breaks as she thinks of him coming to claim her after all these years.

She decided to ignore it and focus her mind on something else; one thing she was sure of was Caleb not being able to take her child away from her.

Caleb lay down on the bed; his mind seemed to be playing tricks on him as it wouldn't stop thinking about Ava. He had thought about her all through the day and could not be productive.

He had had several imaginations of her; he would think about what she was doing at the moment, who she was talking to, who was making her laugh, and what she was saying.

All of his thoughts were about her.

" I think I am going crazy; this has to stop," he said.

He would palm his face at the realization that he was back to thinking about her even when he did not want to think about her.

He was on his bed, in his nightwear.

There was a knock on the door. He frowned as he checked what time it was.

" Who could be at my door by this time? Everyone should be sleeping and not going about knocking on doors" he sighed as he lazily stood up from the bed.

He opened the door and his face dropped as he saw who was at his door.

" You should be sleeping by now, what are you doing here?" He asked.

Sophia flung her hair backward, revealing her breast to him. She was wearing a gown that had almost all her breasts out. It was a short dress as well.

Caleb ran his eyes all over her body; she was the one with a curvy body and a good shape as well.

" What do you want?" he asked her.

" What do you mean by that? Can you not see that I am all dressed for you?" She smiled sweetly at him.

" I am not blind, I can see that. What do you want? You should be sleeping" he said.

Sophia pushed the door open and walked inside the room.

" Come," she said to him as she fell on the bed.

" You should leave, Sophia," he said lightly.

Sophia laughed.

" I'm sure you are just stressed; I can help relieve you of that stress," she said.

She went to him and dragged him by the hands.

" What did you do at the office today?" She asked him.

How would he tell her that he spent the whole time thinking and daydreaming about Ava?

" I did nothing. It was such an unproductive day, and I was just trying to get some rest before you came," he said.

" Then let me get you rested; you should put your head on my thighs and get some rest." She held his hands as she tried to get him on the bed.

It was obvious that he was not interested in what she wanted them to do.

" I should get things straight here" Sophia fumed.

She was dressed in his favourite colour and wore the things he once told her that he loved and now it was hard for him to give her the attention she seeks.

" Did you see the news or something?" She asked him

" What news?"

" I'm thinking if this behavior is coming from you because you watched Ava on the news, screened as one of the best actors"

" I don't know what you are talking about, I had a long day and I would like to have some rest"

Sophia was shocked and angry. She has not been turned down and she felt this attitude started when Ava came back to the City.

" I'm going to get to the bottom of this." She angrily left his room with the intention of mapping out a plan for Ava.
