LOGINAva comes out of the plane with Aurora asleep in her arms. Chris follows closely behind with their bags with him.
While waiting for their bags to be cleared, Aurora wakes up and rubs her eyes.
“Hey baby. You don’t want to sleep anymore?”. She gives her a peck on her chubby cheeks while tucking stray hairs away from her face.
“Mama”. Aurora says looking upset. She knows that she is hungry and that is the only reason she is looking upset.
“Don’t worry, we can get this done then I’ll get you some food. Okay?”. Aurora nods in reluctant agreement. Her eyes were wide open; she started scanning the environment.
They are soon done with the clearing of their bags and they go to the lounge.
“Let me go and see if the driver is here yet”. Chris informs her.
“Oh okay. I can just get her some snacks in the meantime”. Chris heads towards the door while Ava puts her on the chair.
“Aurora, mummy is going to get some food for you. Don’t leave here please. Okay?”. She pinches her cheeks while Aurora looks at her in understanding.
While Ava is busy ordering some food for them, she keeps looking back.
Aurora, on the other hand, is looking at balloons at the opposite end of the airport. At the same time, Ava is distracted by someone who mistakenly switched orders with her. They are trying to resolve it when Aurora gets up from her seat and runs in the direction of the balloon.
The person who owns the balloon starts moving at the same time a major flight is announced. By the time Ava looks back to check for Aurora, she doesn’t see her anymore.
It is almost impossible to even see her through the crowd because of her height. Fear grips Ava’s heart as she starts looking for how to find her. She immediately drops the food she ordered and runs to where she had left Aurora.
She uses her eyes to scan the area for her but she doesn’t see any sign of her. She runs a hand through her hair, already feeling flustered.
At that moment, Chris comes back. He sees her worried expression and rushes to her side.
“Hey, hey, what’s going on?”. He holds her arm to position her in front of him. However, her eyes are still searching the area barely staying on him.
“Aurora… Aurora… I can’t find her”. She says absentmindedly. Chris’ eyebrows furrow in confusion.
“What do you mean by you can’t find her? She was with you when I left”. He cups her face so that she can be stable. Her eyes are already covered in unshed tears.
“I…I…I.. just went to get some food for her just right there”. She points at the stall opposite them.
“Yes, what happened? Calm down Ava”. He holds her hands to reassure her.
“So I left her on this chair with the bags. I kept on checking on her from time to time, I swear. I was distracted for just a minute and when I turned back, she wasn’t there anymore”. Sobs crack through her body.
Chris pulls her into a hug and consoles her by stroking her hair. After a few seconds, he pulls her away from himself.
“You can cry later. We have to find her first. We can’t afford for her to leave the premises”. She nods in response.
“Ok, good. So let’s start around here first. I’ll search the left, and you can search the right. Ask people if they have seen her; that can help us locate her”.
He gives her a reassuring smile before they part ways. They pull up a picture of Aurora and start asking the passersby.
“Please have you seen her?”. With every no, she gets even more discouraged and guilty for leaving Aurora alone.
“Please have you seen her?”. Chris starts worrying for Ava. She already looks so disheveled within 10 minutes.
But who can blame her for her reaction? Aurora is the only family she has. The girl is practically her entire life.
They walk around for some more minutes before returning to where they started. They arrive there at almost the same time. Ava almost breaks down there but Chris pulls her into his arms once again.
“I caused this. I caused this. I shouldn’t have left her here alone. My poor baby. She’s probably so scared right now”. Tears stream down her face as she laments guiltily.
“It’s not your fault. Don’t beat yourself up about this”. He wipes her tears.
“It is! It is! My daughter is somewhere else and I don’t even know how she is. She could be crying right now. Calling for me. Or even worse, kidnapped by a stranger!”. Her voice cracks at the end.
He nods as if to tell her that she’s wrong but even deep down, he knows that it’s a very big possibility.
An idea pops into his mind and his eyes light up.
“Why didn’t I remember this before? We can either decide to wait here for her to be guided here by a good stranger or we can go to the reception and ask to use their mic to call Aurora from the speakers”. Ava’s eyes light up at his suggestion.
“That’s true! But how about we do it this way? One of us can stay here while the other person goes to the reception”.
“Oh yes. I’ll just stay here then. She will feel better hearing your voice”. They hug again before she leaves him alone there to go to the admissions office.
Somewhere at the far end of the airport, Aurora bumped into two figures and fell at their feet. She hits her bum on the ground and starts wailing.
The man looks back because of the cry and his eyes land on the little toddler at his feet. His heart warms and he squats down to carry her into his arms.
Her eyes became even more teary, part of her wanted to believe him and accept that he was not the one who did that. " I would never do such a thing to my little girl, I just do not like that you see me that way. We need to find out who did this okay?" He tried to touch her again but she brushed his hands off. " Do not come any closer to me, you should not touch me as well, keep your hands to yourself" she said. " I know, you do not trust me but I would not do anything to hurt her," he said. He was about to hold her hands again when he stopped as he remembered her warning. " I do not trust you and never will I trust you" she said. She turned back and was about entering the car when Caleb spoke. " I will help you find the person that did this," he said. Ava stopped and faced him. " I do not need your help, I can always sort myself out. I have not needed your help all these years and I do not need it now" she said. She sounded so pissed that he was asking to help her out. When
Her eyes went to the door again, there was no one coming out from there to listen to what she had to say. " I need you out of your silly house, what the hell are you doing in there, I want you out right now" she yelled. Her breathing began to get heavy and intense, she hated to be around his house or around him but this was what she had to do for her child. She raised her head up and looked at the big house,it had even gotten better. She didn't care if he was at home or not, it did not matter to her. What was important to her was to have this conversation with him and he had to be outside. She heard the opening of the door, the door knob turned and opened. It was not Caleb, it was a maid. She could not recognize who it was,she had not seen this maid before. She knew one thing about Caleb was changing house keepers like it was some trophy to be won. She remained how she had once complained to him of changing the maids and how uncomfortable it was for her but he paid her no attenti
Her legs were hitting the floor, she wasn't relaxed and it troubled Chris so much. " I want to tell you to calm down, but that is not necessary right now," he said. " I'm glad you know," she said. It was going to piss her off, she knows very well that she isn't going to get calm and she hates to be told to get calm when things are heated up. " I am going over to see Caleb, and I want you to come with me," she said. He looked at her like she didn't just say that. " Why do you want to do that? You know that's like accusing him of something he might not have done right?" He said. He was scared that they were going to be accusing the wrong person but Ava did not care about that. " He did this to me, and to Aurora. Maybe when he thought about it and realized that it was going to be hard having her, he decided to take her out of the picture. Besides, there was a man sent to the hospital for us," she said. She looked at Chris, hoping that he's on her side. " What man are you talkin
Her face was filled with bright smiles as she stepped into the house, she looked at the house and her suspicion grew stronger. She knew that something was wrong and someone was trying to do something to her but she could not place it. " Hey, I know you want to go over and do a lot of digging and I know you do have lots of questions, but I want you to rest," he said. She did not think it was what she needed, she never saw a need to take a rest like the way he was saying it. It pissed her off that he would say that to her. " I'll take her to her room" was the only thing she said to Chris. She held Aurora's hands as she led her to her room. She got in and ran her eyes all over the place. She expected that the room would be cleaned but that was not what she saw. As she turned to the door to step out of the room, Chris was standing by the door. " I told Clara to leave things the way they were, I knew you were going to find out what happened, so I asked her not to clear anything" he s
Sophia got home, feeling so upset about what it was that was going on with Chris and Ava. She wanted to find out if her deliveries were done the way she had wanted it. She wanted to be sure that the child was injured in a way that it would be hard for her to be alive. She paced the room and wished that the death of Aurora was going to appear in the news any moment from now. She seriously hoped for it as she stayed glued to the television and even to her phone. She got tired of waiting and decided to call the person that made the deliveries. " Hey, what the hell did you do? I gave you an instruction, why was it not done the way I wanted it to be done?" She asked. .The person at the other end of the phone went silent at first. " I know you heard me and I know you can speak as well," she said. " Of course, I did as I was told, I made sure that everything was in order, I did deliver the package to them and by now, things should have taken a different turn" he said. It sounded false
She paced about the hallway. Her heart was beating so fast, her palms were shaky as well. She hated that she had not paid so much attention to her daughter, she has been busy with trying to keep Caleb off. " I need you to relax a bit, she is going to be fine. The doctor said she will be okay, it's a little burn" Chris said. Ava did not think so. Even though it was a little burn from the device Aurora uses to play, she still thinks it did so much damage. Chris was rather calm, his hands were not as shaky as that of Ava. " You aren't worried about her safety? You look perfectly fine with what just happened and I can not believe you right now" she said. Chris ran his hand through his face and held her shoulders. " Can you stop, I understand you are scared for her, but it does not mean that I am not scared as well, and please, do not give me that look" he said. He felt she was accusing him of feeling less concerned about Aurora. " I don't believe you," she said. " I do not know
Ava had her bags packed as well. She went to Bella's room. Got in and checked on Aurora. " I'll be gone for a few days, the security men have returned, so the house is safe, but do not leave. Do not take my daughter anywhere till I am back" she said. Bella nodded her head. Ava kissed Aurora and p
He poured one more drink into her glass as he watched her take it. She smiled at him as she drank all of it. She was glad that her little plan had worked and she wondered why it took her this long to do it. " You have been so kind to me lately, I like the way I am being treated right now, it feel
He saw her father outside. He knows that Sophia was there. " I want to speak with Sophia," he said. Her father looked at him, confused at what he was doing there in his house. He had asked him to come to his house the other day, but he refused. He turned it down, and there he was, right in his ho
Ava was out of the house, she knows she's meant to be inside the house but she does not care about that. Chris has asked her to choose being miserable and being happy and she chose to be happy. She was visiting lots of places and uploading all of her visits to the media. Caleb would stay in his o
