Nuella Jones was bursting at the seams with glee and excitement as she parked her cherry red sports car close to a new range rover sport jeep.
She locked it with the remote once she got out and started skipping towards the bungalow in front of her. The presence of the range rover meant her husband, Silas Green was home and he was just the person she wanted to see. After being married for two years and trying so hard to have a child, she couldn't wait to break the news to him that finally he was going to be a father. Servants greeted her as she passed and she responded back with a big grin she couldn't wipe off her face. She was happy! The rooms were on one side of the house so she let herself into the hallway and started walking towards the room. She pulled out the white paper containing the test result from the hospital and strode on with an air of confidence. She already knew what it said but she couldn't wait for Silas to see it with his own eyes. She quickened her step and paused briefly by her room door to adjust her clothing, showing a little more cleavage to entice him a little. Every part of their married life had been on standstill because of their inability to conceive. She hoped that he'd be so overjoyed and finally make love to her the way she deserved, it had been a minute. As she raised her hand to the knob to turn it, she froze as strange noises from the room caught her attention. “Yes Silas right there…” That voice….there was no way the bearer of her voice could be in her room, especially not with her husband. No, she shook her head, her sister would never do that to her. But even as she thought that, she heard it again, this time followed by a scream that sent shivers down her spine. Tears pricked her eyes but she fought them back as she finally turned the knob and walked inside. The pregnancy test result fell out of her hand as she saw the scene before her and she gasped. “Natasha, it's really you,” she gulped and took a step forward. “Why would you both do this to me? Natasha, you're my sister!” She heard a snort, either from Natasha or Silas but she couldn't tell because neither of them had moved from their position. Her sister was still on top of her husband, her bare back glistening with sweat from their passionate affair. “What is the meaning of this?” Nuella asked, her voice raised a little higher than before. “Oh please stop shouting! The servants could hear you,” Natasha finally spoke and Nuella watched as she got off Silas and started walking towards her once her feet had touched the ground. “What does it look like?” Nuella ignored her sister and turned to Silas. “How could you do this to me? Aren't you going to say anything?!” She shrieked but Silas didn't respond. Natasha smirked. “Look sis, it's nothing personal but Silas said he wanted a real woman because you could never satisfy him that's all. You should be thanking me,” Something snapped inside of Nuella and she charged forward. “How dare you?” She screamed as she made her way towards Silas who was now sitting up on the bed wide-eyed. “What are you doing, crazy woman? Stay away from me!” Nuella was halfway to the bed already before she was stopped by Natasha. “Where do you think you're going?” Natasha asked as she pulled at Nuella's hair hard. “Didn't you hear what I said? I said we were busy, it's rude to interrupt.” “How dare you….?” She raised her hand to slap Natasha but the other woman was faster. Nuella found herself staggering back as Natasha pushed her back a few feet. “Get out of here while you still can. You're a disgrace to women Nuella!” Tears were rolling down Nuella's cheek now and pain throbbed from her head where Natasha has attacked her. She glanced at Silas who was still sitting there quietly. She couldn't watch her sister assault her. “Silas, are you really just going to sit there like a coward?! Say something!!” She ordered but he didn't respond. Natasha who had been doing all the talking stepped forward. “Get out Nuella, I told you —” “And who do you think you are to tell me what to do, in my own house? Are you out of your mind?” Natasha smirked and then before Nuella could blink, she grabbed her wrist and started pulling her away towards the door. “What are you doing?!” Nuella shrieked and struggled to break free but her sister's hold was stronger. Natasha opened the door, ignoring her pleas and tossed her outside like a filthy used rag. Nuella fell on her stomach and screamed as pain shot through her entire body. “Get lost!” Natasha spat and slammed the door in her face. “So where do we begin?” She asked Silas when she had locked the door behind her. Outside, Nuella heard them but she couldn't be bothered with them anymore because the pain she was feeling was getting stronger and persistent. She raised her hand to touch her stomach and gasped when she felt it was wet. On inspection of her hand, she saw blood and all the colour drained from her face. “No, no no….no please no!” She sobbed as she tried to sit up but failed. “Silas! Silas please help…” The moans coming from the room drowned out her grunts and groans of pain but Nuella wasn't giving up. She knew it was dangerous especially for their child but she couldn't move. “Silas please help me save our child!” She screamed as the pain she had been feeling tripled. “Oh my God, ma'am!” She heard one of the servants scream and then she saw a flurry of footsteps just as her vision began to blur. “Please save my baby,” she whispered shortly before everything went dark.Nuella grunted and opened her eyes, taking in the unfamiliar environment around her. She tried to recall what had happened but at that moment her brain was foggy. “Oh you're awake?” She heard someone say and turned to see a doctor standing by her bedside smiling down at her. Suddenly all the memories of what had happened came rushing back and she gasped as her hands went to her stomach that now seemed flatter than before. A sense of dread hit Nuella but she swallowed it as she summoned the courage to ask the doctor. “How's my child?” The smile on the young doctor's face slipped but she quickly composed herself. Nuella noticed and a tear slid down her cheek. She knew, somehow she knew. “How's my child doctor?” The female doctor shook her head unable to construct the words at the beginning. “I'm sorry. You were brought in too late and we couldn't save the baby.” Tears began to roll down her cheeks uncontrollably but she didn't cry out loud. “I'm really sorry ma'am. Please try t
Nuella groaned and sat up, rubbing her eyes. Her head hurt like hell and she felt like she had swallowed sand. Everything that happened last night came back to her and she wanted to dig a hole and bury herself in it. How could she have asked a complete stranger to marry her? So what if he was related to Silas? She could get her revenge another way. “Good morning,” she heard and spun around with a start, her heart racing. “Relax it's just me.” Nuella blushed and pulled the covers over her breasts. “Good morning. I'm sorry about last night.” Kevin coughed. She realized he hadn't been expecting her to apologise. “Which part?” “ Did anything happened between us last night “? Nuella asked with her eyes wide open. “No… you have nothing to worry about “ Kevin said while smiling. Her cheeks reddened and he cleared his throat. “Here's some aspirin for the headache. I already ordered for some soup for the hangover.” “Thank you,” she whispered unable to meet his eyes. They sat there
Nuella coughed and looked away feeling uncomfortable seeing this strange woman rubbing herself against her husband. Kevin pushes the woman away and Nuella felt better. “What do you think you're doing?” He asked as he reached for Nuella again and pulled her closer to himself. “What are you talking about Kevin? And who is this?” The woman finally turned angry eyes at Nuella and she shivered. Kevin leaned down and placed a gentle kiss on Nuella's forehead. “This is my wife, Nuella Lowes. Be sure to trust her with more respect in the future or else…” He trailed off but he didn't have to complete his sentence, the message was clear. Nuella's cheeks turned pink. She couldn't understand why she was enjoying Kevin's public show of affection and care but she would take it over Silas's lack of concern anyday. The woman snorted and sent Nuella a menacing glare before she stalked off angrily. “Ignore them,” Kevin assured her as he pressed her closer to him. Nuella felt a sense of security
“She's suffering from lack of rest. Her body has just suffered a miscarriage and she hasn't been able to rest properly ever since,” Those were the first things Nuella heard when she regained consciousness. She grunted and opened her eyes taking in her environment. Kevin was standing by the side with a doctor who seemed to be scolding him. She flushed as she realized he was taking the heat for her carelessness and sat up. “Oh you're awake,” the doctor came over to her side immediately and the conversation was cut short much to her relief. “How are you feeling now?” Nuella nodded her head, not quite ready to speak. The doctor checked her vitals and excused herself, promising to come check on her later in the day. Soon, they were left alone for the first time since the party. For the first few minutes after the doctor left, no one said anything. They just stared at each other without saying a word. “I'm sorry,” she said, breaking the silence as she finally found the words. “I sh
