Chapter 78

Pollen’s POV

I arrived at the mansion at exactly 2:30 pm.

The water fountain that used to give an extra touch of elegance to the gigantic building had been drained and wrapped with fountain covers.

I was covered in a warm cream sweater and black leather pants. With every step I took towards the main entrance, snowflakes shattered with gentle crunch, like stepping on delicate eggshells.

I tried the passcode I knew, and the door gave me access.

In the living room, Raymond was drinking from a squared glass; he was dressed in black pants and black long-sleeved shirts neatly tucked in. He was slouched over the table with one of his hands holding the glass of whisky while the other hung out lazily.

“Hi. You wanted to see me,” I mumbled.

When he didn’t utter a word, I etched closer.

“Are you alright?” I asked.
