I was going to live to see another day, because of them.

The relief that flooded me as I watched them snap necks and rip out hearts to get to me was unbelievable. I’d never been attracted to violence before, but knowing that they’d go to any lengths to protect me made my insides churn with a maddening amount of affection.

I hadn’t set eyes on the Vaughn men in nine days and that was the longest I’d ever gone without seeing them since we met, it felt more than amazing to see them again.

“These fucking bastards! Always ruining every bloody thing!” Lucas who was beside me at the altar cursed angrily, and from the defeated look in his eyes, I could tell that he knew the Vaughn brothers would easily tear through his army and come for him.

As though he knew I was scrutinizing his reaction, he turned to me and placed his slimy hand on my face and grabbed my jaw harshly.

“As long as there’s breath in your lungs, you belong to me, Scarlett,” he said with an unwavering level of convict
