The walls were covered in blood, completely doused in it.

I knew it was werewolf blood from the distinct stench, and that’s when I realized that none of the security men were in sight since we’d stepped out of the burning mansion. That sick asshole called Lucas Shahato must’ve ordered his men to kill them all and use their blood to paint the wall.

Anger bubbled in the depths of my soul and I practically jumped over Blake and leapt out of the car. All three men stepped out right after me, rushing to grab me like they were hiding something from me, veiling a secret that they didn’t want me to uncover.

“Scarlett, let’s just get back in the car and leave,” Alex who was planted before me like a wall of Jericho said in a pleading tone.

Blake was on my side, and so was Logan and it felt like they were deliberately blocking my view of the wall for some odd reason. And because of that, I was eager to find out whatever they were trying so hard to hide.
