“A hundred roses, yes. Each of carrying one of the apology notes I sent over in the email, and I need them delivered before nightfall,” I rambled off instructions to a vendor I’d been speaking with all day instead of actually working in my office at the cafe.

My foremost thought was finding a way to apologize to Scarlett and nothing else. I couldn’t function while trying to do anything but that.

“Alright, sir. We’ll process your order and have it sent out as directed,” the florist said in a professional tone, “You’ll need to make your payment as soo—”
