The entire house was bustling with fury, every fucking inch of it.

“She’s not out yet?” Blake sighed heavily, heading towards where I was seated outside Alex’s room.

We’d carried Alex into the house and gotten the family’s sorceress to come and check his injuries because he was bleeding out badly instead of healing. Immediately she saw the horrific state he was in, she asked everyone to wait outside and not disturb her because she’d need ultimate concentration to heal his wounded wolf.

“No, and as much as I want to barge in because I’m sick with worry, I can’t,” I blinked and my eyes hurt from how much I’d cried in the past hour.

A knowing softness washed over Blake’s features and he lowered himself to the floor beside me, pulling me into his open arms and allowing me rest on his chest. He muttered comforting words to me for the next few minutes while rubbing my hair and back gently, making my worry more bearable.
