Chapter 4

"You will no longer hold the title of mistress of this home from now on. Those items belong to you, so you should take them and leave before Master Allen comes out." The security guard made a gesture toward the piece of black polyester nylon that had been tossed outside the gates.

"W… What exactly are you saying? What exactly do you mean when you say that I am no longer the mistress? I need to speak with Allen, I really need to talk to him!" Naomi hurried forward in an attempt to open the gates, but the security guard stopped her and shoved her back.

"Ah… Please, let me see him! I'm begging you!" Naomi did not care that the side of her head was bleeding, nor did she care that her knees and ankle were sprained.

What are they talking about? But, the only thing that was going through her head was the fact that she had to beg. She has nowhere else to go, there is no other option for her but to beg.

“Please… Please, let me in! You… You can't do this to me!” Naomi cried out and hit her palms on the gates. Her eyes were wide and tears fell from the corner of her eyes in waterfalls.

"You haven't left yet, have you? I was aware of your lack of scruples, but I had no idea it extended to this degree." Naomi was startled when she heard an icy voice. It gave her the chills all the way down her spine.

"Allen… W… What is the point of all of this? What exactly is going on?" She still couldn't comprehend what was happening.

"Naomi, we don't actually need you anymore. Let's get divorced.” Simple as that. His nonchalant words were like pouring a cold bucket of water on Naomi.

Allen threw her copy of the divorce papers to her which she stared at with dazed eyes and a confused face.

"Throw her out of the estate. I have had it up to here with the filth that is around this place." The gates were opened by three men who walked out. One of them took care of carrying her bag, while the other two supported both of her arms. One of them, on the other hand, was gentle while the other was not.

They took care of her like a sack filled with feathers. Not that she was carrying any excess weight with her. They did not utter another word before dragging her out into the street and hurling her on the ground.

Her waist made contact with the shattered rails that were located at the edge of where she landed. The divorce papers were sticking out of her luggage, which was sitting next to her.

Her hands were shaking, and her jaw was tightly closed as she focused her eyes on the divorce papers that had already been signed by Allen.

Naomi never gave her signature to any document, and she was never even aware that a divorce petition was being prepared.

"What's happening? What am I going to do?" Naomi murmured. She got to her feet, tucked her small bag of belongings under her armpits, and started walking.

She had no set destination in mind and was only thinking about the next thing she should do in her head. Her legs were simply carrying her to the location where they thought she could remain.

Her eyes were unfocused, and she was simply staring at the path before her. Everything appeared to be whirling, and she had fuzzy vision and shaky legs. Fear caused Naomi's heart to pound rapidly.

She had been abandoned once more. The first time, it was with her adoptive parents; now, it was the only place she had left to stay.

"Ah…" Her stomach rumbled in hunger. Before she passed out in the morning, she had not eaten anything since breakfast. That was not something she was concerned about right now. Her head was bleeding, her waist was bleeding, her legs were bleeding. It was a terrible situation.

"Ah shit… I'm tired of all this! If he was going to divorce me in the first place, why did he get married to me then?” Naomi asked herself and tears began to well up in her eyes.

From the time she had been made by her adoptive parents to marry Allen, she had never said a curse word, she always acted prim and proper. Even before she got married, she was the epitome of kindness and generosity. She was taught to be obedient and quiet.

She loved him, and because she actually loved him after their first date, she went ahead to get married to him but see what it costs her. She was raped, beaten, and maltreated. Everyone treated her like shit and she stayed quiet.

“He has probably been planning it for a while and that bullshit about him still needing my reputation was just an excuse for me to let down my guard. What a jerk!”

Naomi kicked the pebble that was lying innocently on the ground and without looking at where it landed, she continued walking but then, Naomi froze.

Her feet were planted to the ground, the stone she had just kicked… It… It crashed onto the bodice of the car!

“Oh no, no, no!” Naomi rushed towards the car that had started blowing its head off like a siren and sure enough, there was a small dent where the stone had hit.

“Oh crap, I'm royally fucked up.” Naomi groaned as she stared at the dent in the car.

A cologne she was familiar with and aos unfamiliar with at the same time wafted into her nose, and a voice came from behind her.

“What are you doing?” She turned around to see the same doctor who had treated her standing behind her, he had taken off his mask but was still wearing his gold rimmed glasses, but she could see his handsome face.

“Did you just… kick my car?”
