Summer's Point of View

“To clarify, she is my aunt. She is the youngest sister of my mom.” He sighed.

I had a surprised reaction to what he said, causing me to bite my lower lip. Then, my cheeks turned cherry because of embarrassment. 'Oh my God! Why did I think there is going on between them?!'

“She wants to meet Stefani and Devon, but I declined her request to prevent putting any strain on you. You just gave birth and I'm afraid you are still tired and stress... I convinced her that I would inform you beforehand before taking any further steps.” He stopped and tenderly kissed the bridge of my nose. “Please put your trust on me, because no matter what happens, I won’t do the thing that has been running in your head.”

I was still, unable to utter a single word in response. Yet, despite my silence, I could sense clarity begin to emerge as all the unanswered questions that had been spinning around my head were slowly being put to rest.
