Summer’s Point of View

The woman laughed out loud, as if she already knew Steven’s wife was shallow. Steven pulled me from behind him, threw his arm around my shoulders, and kissed the top of my brow. Then, he guided me to the woman.

“When she found out I'm visiting you today, she insisted on coming along. So, this is Mila, my aunt.” He halted and shifted his eyes to Mila and continued, “Aunty, this is Summer, my wife.”

“Why didn’t you tell me?!” I pulled the hem of his coat and whispered.

“I had planned on introducing her to you back then, but she had to go back to her country because of an unresolved problem with her company. She just came back today.”

The heat of shame rose in my cheeks as I felt like shrinking away from the attention. But then Mila stepped in and took my hand, her grip firm, but gentle. Her eyes were so full of compassion as she held steady eye contact with me and smiled with genuineness.

Preparing for baby number 3 then. Hope stefanie's story is different from the others. Hope no more slapping of the face, so much humiliation etc. i really like the character of Summer
