“Grandpa can’t be serious, can he?” Summer’s expression was filled with disbelief. “I mean, there’s no way he’s actually going to transfer all his assets to me just because I can’t make it to the anniversary celebration, right?”

I stared at her in shock, my eyes fixed on her face. “I’m not sure, Summer. Grandpa was a man of few words, but when he said something, he always followed through.”

“T-then, what are we going to do?” she asked, her voice trembling with fear. Despite my grandpa’s threat, she didn’t back down. “I can’t go to the party. I know what could happen.”
