Charlotte struggled to break free from the guard who had let her out, and she was tied to a tree while the guard prepared his whip.

The guard's forehead perspired as he hadn't thought he would be subjected to this — punishing the Luna of their pack. His life was also at risk, but he had to obey the Alpha's command.

"Please, don't flog me!" Charlotte cried just as the guard resumed whipping her. Her father arrived and rushed to the scene to stop the guard from flogging her.

"Are you crazy? What gives you the right to whip my daughter?" Beta Paul Mateo was furious, and using his Beta power, he pushed the guard aside, as he had trained the guard before along with a few others.

"I'm sorry, Beta Paul. But this is Alpha Teddy's order, and I cannot disobey the Alpha," the guard said. He was a young man, not yet thirty years old.

"Stand back and stay away from my daughter!" Beta Paul warned. He was equally at fault for allowing his wife and the Alpha's wife to give Charlotte to Teddy.
