27 The verdict

Charlotte couldn't believe her ears that the matter would be handled so easily. Teddy was trying to maintain his pretentious image to the pack members, pretending to be a good Alpha while skipping the fact that he wasn't her mate. He hadn't mated with her since they got married, and he flogged her at home for any single mistake.

"Luna Charlotte!" the pack's judge called Charlotte's attention again. He was a young man of Jack's age and was Jack's friend before he left the pack ten years ago.

Charlotte gulped. She didn't want to reject her mate. She also didn't want Jack to be killed or for her to return to Teddy's mansion.

She looked around and saw her parents standing in the crowded hall, alongside the Alpha's parents. With tears in her eyes, she looked back at Alpha Jack, as she didn't want to utter the word “rejection.”

The murmuring in the hall began, and Teddy was waiting patiently for Charlotte to reject Jack, knowing that no one could go against the final verdict.
