"Gold's POV"

Two weeks ago

The eerie atmosphere created by the deadly trees and lifeless grass made the surroundings look creepy. I wandered through the forest, attempting to find my way to Master Yung's house. It had been a living nightmare for most of us. We didn't want to die; we just longed for an end to all this suffering and to be reunited with our families.

"It won't be easy to distract them," I heard a familiar voice with another coming from the other side of the forest. Who could that be, I wondered, trying to locate the source of the voice.

"All of them trust you, so it won't be a problem," another voice replied.

I hid behind a tree, shocked to see Lex engaged in conversation with a half-demon. I couldn't tell for sure if he was a demon or a human, but his eyes were as red as a hungry lion that hadn't eaten for weeks. His fingers were long like those of a bush rat, and he had red hair just like Lex. His face was smooth, making it difficult to determine who was older
