Chapter 56

“Arka? I thought you wouldn’t come. I’ve been waiting for you since earlier. Come on in!” With a happy smile, Jenny welcomed Arka’s arrival at her house. The woman wanted to pull Arka’s hand into her house.

“Wait a minute, Naya hurry up!”

Hearing Arka call Naya’s name made Jenny quite surprised. The woman immediately turned her head towards Arka’s car. Sure enough, at that moment, Naya was seen just getting out of Arka’s car and then walking towards him.

Earlier, Naya had deliberately asked Arka to get off first with the excuse that Naya wanted to put on her shoes. Naya’s real reason was that she wanted to see Jenny surprised to see her sudden arrival.

As soon as she arrived at where Arka was standing, Naya immediately hugged her husband’s hand with a smile. “Hello Jenny, thank you for the dinner invitation.”

“Arka, why did you invite her here? I only wanted to invite you, not her,” Jenny asked annoyedly. The woman didn’t expect Naya to come with Arka.

“Why? You invited me to dinner and then I came with my wife. Is there something wrong?”

 Before Jenny could utter a word, Jenny's parents came over to them first. Jenny's parents also seemed surprised to see Arka and Naya. They thought Arka would come alone.

"Good evening, madam, sir. I came here with my wife to fulfill your invitation."

Although surprised and did not like seeing Naya, Jenny's parents were forced to finally allow Arka and Naya to enter. There was no way they would chase Arka away because he invited Naya.

Now the five of them, Jenny's parents, Jenny, Arka and Naya were at the dining table. They started having dinner together. The atmosphere at the dining table seemed so quiet because none of them started a conversation.

Feeling uncomfortable with the atmosphere, Arka finally started the conversation. "Sir, madam, thank you for the dinner invitation."

"You're welcome. Arka, how are you? How are your parents? They are fine, right?"

Smiling, Arka nodded, "I'm fine, my wife is fine too. My parents are also fine. How about you?"

 “As you can see, we are fine. Arka, actually the purpose of inviting you to dinner is to apologize. Sorry for all the mistakes I made to you and your family in the past.”

“We have forgotten all that so there is no need to apologize. 

Arka and Jenny’s parents continued to chat, making the previously quiet atmosphere a little warmer. However, Jenny and Naya had been silent since earlier. Jenny’s parents also had no intention of mentioning Naya’s name or engaging her in conversation at all. 

“I heard that you are now a lecturer at the same campus where Jenny is interning? Wow, I didn’t expect you two to meet there.”

“Dad should know that Arka is very famous on campus. He is a favorite lecturer for many students. Even other lecturers admire him, right Arka?” Jenny replied, joining in the conversation.

“Including you too, right? You often talk about Arka to mom. If only you had gotten married, you would have been a favorite lecturer couple.”

Hearing Jenny’s mother’s words just now made Naya, who was drinking, immediately choke.

“What’s wrong with you?  Drink slowly. You still have a lot to drink so don't rush," Jenny's mother asked Naya. Don't forget the disdainful look that the middle-aged woman gave Naya. 

Naya just kept quiet. Honestly, Jenny's parents seemed to dislike her since earlier. Moreover, they also kept talking about Arka with Jenny, making her very upset. If she didn't think about manners, Naya might have gone berserk a long time ago. 

"Honey, are you okay? Drink slowly." 

"Yes, I'm okay, honey." Naya deliberately emphasized the term of endearment for Arka to make Jenny jealous. 

"Sir, Madam, thank you for the invitation. I also apologize if my words might offend you, sir and madam. Now I am married and the woman sitting next to me is my wife. So it would be better if you don't talk about my relationship with Jenny in front of my wife to protect her feelings." 

"So it's okay behind your back?" Jenny asked. It seemed like the woman intended to start a fight. 

 Not wanting to get emotional and end up having problems, Arka immediately said goodbye and went home with Naya on the grounds that he wanted to pick up their child.

"You said Arka came alone, why did he come with his wife?" asked Mama Jenny right after Arka and Naya had left.

"I don't know either. I thought Arka came alone. Turns out he came with that woman!"

Throughout the journey to Arka's parents' house, Naya kept getting angry talking about how Jenny and her parents had treated her earlier. Naya really didn't seem to care about her existence, plus Arka also seemed very happy chatting with them.

"You also looked very happy chatting with them earlier. Could it be that you deliberately invited me just to see how close you two are?"

Arka could only remain silent while sighing hearing every sentence that came out of Naya's lips. If the man responded, it would definitely end in a fight.

However, it seemed that being silent was also wrong because Naya was getting more annoyed and angry seeing his silence. "Why are you just silent? Is everything I said true?"

"Are you angry enough? Aren't you tired of ranting all this time? I'm the only one who hears it, tired."

"Then you think I'm not tired? I'm tired too, I'm hurt seeing how Jenny's parents treated me earlier! You've never felt like you're in my position so you won't understand!"

"Okay, I'm sorry. I'm sorry if you had to experience that treatment earlier because of me.  My purpose of inviting you to attend the dinner invitation was only to tell them that I am married and you are my wife. I have no intention of having any other plans, let alone hurting you. I know your hurt will not go away quickly, but we will be there soon, so please don't be angry, I'm afraid Kenzo won't want to come home with us later."
