Scott couldn't move from his place for the next few minutes, the staff was finishing their work and the girl who had been a free seconds away from biting his head off was standing at the door waiting to lock up. He looked back at the scarf that had been lying on the table a shade darker than its original peach hue because of the water. His heart had been pounding ever since he had seen her coming out of his family healer's home.
Fallon Johnson had been the town's oldest and most powerful witch to exist. When the wolves and witches joined hands they had to put their hatred for one another aside but he knew the old and traditional witch never really let go of the age old grudge that started centuries ago.
When the queen of the witches was killed by his kind out of cold blood. They say history repeats itself and it had, in the face of Amelia, a half witch and half werewolf child who had paid for herself being chosen as the lycans mate, that was the last time the witches ever helped them and so far they hadn't needed them yet.
So when she saw the girl with a face he could never forget walked out of the witch's home he felt his heartbeat rise, when the wind carried the scent of a fated mate to his wolf he felt his eyes water and when he stood outside her shop only to be able to gaze at his fate again. The roundness of her face, the curve of her nose and her auburn hair tied up in a bun, it was all the same. Same as hers, who would've thought that his life will test him like this.
His legs had a mind of theirs as they left their shelter and walked under the heavy pour to get to the other side of the road, to be close to her. To feel her warmth surround his cold heart and to just hear that voice again, her scent was overwhelming zeus and as they neared her every cell in his body awoke at the closing distance. He wanted to hurle he up in his arms and cry his heart out, apologize to her for everything he had done and when he finally spoke his breath hitched.
She lifted her gaze and he was stuck in a swarm of her deep brown eyes, he didn't notice the sharp edge to her voice or the slight shift in the air. He couldn't pick up any scent on her beside the earthy human scent she carried but the change of hue in her eyes and the change in her undertone made him concerned for what will be the end of them.
Scott shook his head and by the time he reached the door ameli- no. his neighbor had seen everyone out, now it was his turn to leave.
“Im scott by the way” he said in a low voice forwarding his hand and ame- the girl who looked like amelia pursed her lips.
“Im Sarah, '' she said, joining their hands and the two of them stilled, there was a wave of heat that took over them and the two instantly pulled away. Scott felt Zeus going crazy in his head, nearly coming out to claim his mate at his but this wasn't the time nor the situation.
“I'm really sorry for whatever happened back there, I didn't mean-” her features softened and so did a part of scotts heart. If he had been his old self he might have ignored it, he did ignore it and seeing her expression now told him just how much he had missed.
“It's okay, you've just moved here. Your sister is in the hospital, you are tired i understand” he found himself using the words he never spoke, understand. He refused to understand anything that wasn't a part of his story, maybe if he had things would've been different.
“Thanks” Sarah replied and scott found the two of them drowning in a sea of silence yet again, he wanted to hear her voice to feel the sound sinking in his mind and taking over his sanity but as he watched get ready to close the shop and step out he followed suit. The rain had come to an end and he wondered if he would be able to walk away from her.
“I'll send your scarf to your home” he said, making her look down at the fabric in his hands and she nodded.
“That'll be great” she smiled for the second time in the day and she seemed like a totally different person.
“I hope your sister recovers soon” he said, making her nod yet again before turning to him completely.
“I'll take my leave” she said, taking steps backward with a polite smile on her face and with every skip of her step his heart followed its rhythm, a sigh escaped his lips and gulped his emotions.
“My life has become a joke” he muttered to himself and he heard zeus sigh.
“Maybe now you'll get a chance to redeem yourself”

In the shadow of dark woods something awoke by the loud thunder, its glowing eyes and a tired face were proof of how many decades or even centuries it had spent roaming the face of this earth. A tired smile grew on the old woman's face as the rain hammered against the soil.
“Why must one be given so many chances and still not learn?”
Her voice was sad and as the stars played their fates before her eyes she wondered how the two will look past their destinies.

The night had started to get darker and the loud rubble of rain outside the hospital window made the girl on the bed flinch awake, her brown eyes had an electric blue glow to them as sweat covered her from top to bottom. Her breath came out heavier and the energy flowing in her body made willow shaked her limbs in desperation. She didn't know what had gone wrong after she had opened the wooden jewelry box she found in her grandmother's room. It had all sorts of stuff but she started feeling like this the moment she pulled the jade necklace over her head, she remembered it being her grandmother's favorite since she wore it all the time. She had taken it off the moment the heat around her neck started increasing but by that time she had lost all her strength.
Everyone in their life faces a night where no matter what they do they just can't sleep, they can't close their eyes and feel the darkness around them but only see the glimpse of the times that they had taken for granted. Scott was in a much similar situation when all he could see around him was the bright and full moon shining its light on them as the woman before him smiled brightly, her hair playing along the soft caress of the wind that touched her skin ever so gently. There was something about the moment that made his eyes moist, maybe because that was the last time she was ever smiling for him before he ruined the full moon for her, before he ruined this beautiful night for her, before he rejected her. “Amelia” he whispered, the peace of the night conveying his broken plea across the breeze to her. She turned around, her eyes gleaming with so much joy that he wondered how one can be so carefree after what they had done to their mate. “How?” he asked as he felt his throat tigh
Sirens were blaring and the sound of people screaming, everything was just a ringing in her ear as she witnessed the paramedics carry away her dead parents. The night had only begun when the sound of wolves howling aroused under the light of the full moon, the loud howling rose from deep within the forest near the edge of town where the leader lived, the thick trees concealed the other part of human reality of another kind existing with them. Every one of their kind shifted and ran along with their leader to the top of the sacred hill, the hill where the first of their kind was given birth to through a human couple. The child was a sacrifice to the greater gods for the sake of humanity when the moon goddess took pity on the soul of the innocent one and made the strongest of all so that no one could ever trample over her special children ever again. That night was the birth of the first lycan to ever exist and every year on his birthday the wolves gather around the hill to show their gratitude to the goddess. “Willow” Sarah yelled, patting her cheek but her skin was burning.“The ride to the hospital was agonizing as she kept rubbing wilos hands and telling the ambulance driver to hurry, she wasn't waking up and sarah could swear willows body temperature was going up with every second. Sarah was pacing the small space beside willows bed while on the other side the doctor checked up on her, he noted things down and turned towards sarah. “I can't say what exactly has happened to her before running some tests, here the list. A nurse will be here soon.”After hours of keeping willow under observation the doctor finally gave his verdict. “There's no such sign that might help us diagnose what's wrong with her, has everything been okay in your life?” the old man asked as they settled down in his office. “We moved houses” Sarah informed him and he nodded. “Maybe the change is a bit drastic for her, stress maybe. We'll keep her here till she's good to go home” he said, making Sarah nod her he
