Prologue

I was 4 when I first saw you I was in kinder garden for exact. 

“Avy, let’s go!” my mom excitedly said while holding my hand.

“Mommy? Where?” I asked while walking down the pavements.

“At Tita Rose’s house Avy,” mommy said while continues to walk and I immediately stopped also making my mommy stop.

“Car?” I said while pointing at our car from afar.

“No, car baby, we’ll just walk, it’s not far, c’mon baby,” she answered and continues to walk. 

As we walk to a house my mom quickly opened the door and continuesto walk while holding me in the hand.

“Jusko, Aliyah eto na ba si Avy? Ang ganda! mana sakin!” an woman said and picked me up.

“Mommy, no!” I shouted while kicking in the air reaching my mommy.

“Avy, that’s Tita Rose,” my mom said and made me stop of whining.

Tita rose always sends me strange food, but it’s yummy, specially Suman?

“Avy, go play with Tristan,” my mom said and made my eyes widened.

“Kit?” I said  looking at my mom.

“Yes, Avy, kit,go,” my mom said and I immediately ran.

“Kit? Sino yon?” I heard Tita Rose asked while I was half away from them.

“Si Tristan,” my mom answered.

When I arrived at a garden I saw kit who's playing with his cats.

“Kit!” I shouted and made him turned his gaze at me.

“Avy!” he shouted back, while smilling.

We played for hours in the garden and even played with his fishes.

“Kit,” I said, calling him.

“Yes Avy?” he said while playing with the fishes.

“Food,” I said while pouting.

He immediately stood up and held me in the hand and stared pulling me inside the house.

While looking a cereals in the refrigerator we saw a girl with glasses took a jar o peanuts in a drawer and also saw boxes of cereals and left.

  “Kit, food!” I said and pointed the drawer.

Kit immediately too a chair and tried to reach the drawer but It was too high for him and gave up.

“Wait here,” he said and left.

While I was waiting for kit and was very hungry I also tried to reach the drawer while standing in a chair.

“Oy!” I heard someone shouted and picked me up and put me down.

“NO NO! FOOD!” I immediately shouted.

“Stand still,” he said and took the cereal out of the drawer and also grabbed a bowl and milk.

“Oh, kain na,” he said and gave me a bowl of cereal and stared at it.

“Kain na,” he repeated.

“Ahhhhh,” I said and opened my mouth widely.

“Eh? Anak mayaman pala to,” he said while feeding me with a spoon.

“Avy!” on 1st grade, while I was picking up some flowers on our school graden kit called me.

“Kit!” I shouted while waving my said but he immediately hussed me.

“No, don’t call me kit in school, shh,” he said while putting a finger in my lips.

“Tristan,” I said while giggling.

“Xali’s looking for you she has barbie with her,  c'mon,” he said and pulled me and ran with him. 

But suddenly I ran into a rock and made me stumble and my legs was hit by a rock and bleed.

“Mommy!! Mommy!” I repeatedly shouted while crying.

“Oh no, don’t cry Avy, shh stop crying you’re strong like wonder woman right? So don’t cry, c’mon hop on my back,” he said and sat infront of me.

But still I cried and didn’t do what kit told me.

“Okay, wait here, Im going to call our teacher okay? Wait here,” Kit said and quickly ran.

Because the bleeding won’t stop I didn’t stop crying.

“Hoy! Anong nangyari sayo?” a boy said while standing infront of me wearing a green uniform.

But instead of answering the boy I cried louder.

“Oy, Avy wag kang umiyak d’yan, tayo,” he said and held my hand up.

Because he mentioned my name I quickly dried my eyes and look at him.

“ Kuya, Rigel,” I said while pouting.

“Oo, kaya tayo ka d’yan, pwera sa nag papasubo ka di mo kayang tumayo sa sarili mong mga paa,” he said while pulling me up and put me on a bench and took a water bottle from his bag and washed my wounds.

Right after washing my wounds he sat infront of me and tapped his back.

“Sakay,” he said.

I slowly push myself close to him and hugged his neck.

“Avy, matuto kang tumayo sa sarili mong mga paa, kasi di habang buhay na may tutulong sayo kung nanganga-ilangan ka,” he said while walking and I slowly nodded.

“Mommy, where are you going?” I asked my mom while looking at her, holding her baggages.

“Tita Rose and me will have a bff date, so be good to daddy while I’m gone okay baby?” Mommy answered and kissed my cheeks.

“Mommy, how about my graduation? And you also promised me that we’ll find a school for highschool,” I said while pouting.

“It won’t take long baby, I’ll be back after a week okay?” she said while smiling.

“Okay, mommy, bye I love you!” I said and hugged her.

Weeks past since mommy and tita rose went to a trip and because Daddy was always busy on his work I ask Daddy if I could stay at Tita Rose’s and play with Xali, Kit and Kuya Rigel,  At first I thought that Xali and Kit and Kuya Rigel was siblings but I was wrong it was Xali and Kuya Rigel who’s really siblings while kit  is their cousin.

“Avy, punta lang ako sa school ah? May extra classes pa’ko eh, d’yan ka lang ah, kung may kailangan ka sabihan mo lang si Ate Fhreya ah, kailangan ko na umalis bye!” she said and immediately ran.

Because I was bored and lonely I thought of going to Kuya Rigel and play with him like we always do.

So I like a ninja I silently walked in Kuya Rigel’s room and heard him talking to someone.

“Yes, yes I got it, hmm, I love you too,” I heard him say that and I giggled when I heard him saying the I love you word.

“Ohh! Kuya has a girlfriend!” I shouted while pushing the door.

“Oh? Avy, anong ginagawa mo dito si Xali?” kuya Rigel said while putting his laptop away.

“She left, extra classes daw kuya, kuya can I stay here? I’m bored,” I said while pouting my lips.

“Sure sure, where’s your phone?”  he asked.

“Downstairs, low battery,” I said and hopped on his bed.

“Here, play with this,  I’m going to take a nap for just a few minutes okay, wake me up if you need anything,” he said and have me his phone and laptop.

Two hours had past and now it’s 7pm, and still Kuya Rigel is still asleep and even Xali nor kit isn’t here yet and my tummy’s growling.

“Gosh, is the maids asleep? I’ve been looking for them for hours now,” I said while walking down the stairs.

If only cereals or chocolates are still there, malas Sunday pa ngayon so expected na walang stock ng foods.

I quickly walked inside the kitchen and checked the drawer where the chocolates and cereals are but it was dust.

Next I checked the refrigerator and check for food but it was vegetables and a meat.

I don’t even know how to cook!

Because I was hopeless and hungry I sadly walked back to Kuya Rigel’s room and waited for him to wake up.

While I enjoyed myself while waiting my tummy always growls the more I wait the more the growl goes louder.

Gosh, tummy wummy you cooperate I don’t know how to cook so wait, wag mo akong ipahiya kay kuya Rigel gosh.

But my tummy was stubborn and growled louder that even the neighbors could hear it.

“Anong oras naba?” I heard kuya Rigel said while fixing his bed hair.

“7:40, Kuya,” I answered while looking at him.

“Ampocha, Sabi ko five minutes lang naging dalawang oras,” he whispered and stood up.

“Gutom kana?” he said while stretching.

“No,” I lied.

“Ahh, kaya pala ang lakas ng tunog ng t’yan mo,” he laughed and left.

Because my tummy grolwed again I just followed him to the kitchen and saw him chopping some vegetables.

“The maids are on their day off, and bukas pa sila babalik, tamad nakong pumunta sa labas para bumili, kumakain ka naman ng gulay diba?” he said while still chopping the veggies.

“Uhhh—,”

“Kunin mo yong sibuyas,” he said while pointing the drawer.

I immediately opened the drawer and smiled bitterly.

Gosh! What's sibuyas? Anong color ba? Violet? Or puti? Or this color brown thing?

“Paki sali nalang ng ahos, Avy,” he said while my sweat bursts.

“Ahh, kuya?” I said in a small voice.

“What?” he answered while chopping the meat.

“What’s sibuyas and ahos?” I said while closing my eyes.

“Ampoca,” I heard him whispered and saw him hidding his laugh.

“Ako na nga, upo ka don,” he insisted and thankfully I was saved by the humiliation, not quite.

“Sige, ilunod mo, dahan dahan ah,” kuya Rigel said while teaching me how to make gisa.

“Are you sure kuya? Okay, fine,” I answered while my heart pumping fast.

“Finally!” I said while looking at the food we cooked.

We we’re about to eat when the telephone rang.

“Gutom na gutom na ah? Sige mauna ka na, sagotin ko lang yon,” he said while laughing  and left.

Because I was very hungry I ate like it was my last food that I’m going to eat.

Minutes later, I was happy that I was finally full and curious why kuya Rigel isn’t back. I was about to call him when he came inside the kitchen emotionless.

“Kuya? Why took so long? Come on, eat,” I said and was about to hold kuya Rigel’s hand to pull him but he threw my hand away like I was a destitute person.

“Wag na wag mokong tatawaging kuya, at wag mokong hawakan,” he said like there was a dark cloud with thunderstorms above his head.

“Huh kuya?” I questioned.

“Wag mokong tawaging kuya!” he shouted and walked out.

What’s the matter with him?

After putting some covers of the food that’s for kuya I immediately ran towards the main door when I heard a car.

And saw Kit and Xali walking towards me with tearful eyes.

“Xali!!” I shouted excitedly and waited for them to come inside.

But instead Xali ran inside and didn’t gave me a single hi or smile.

“Avy,” Kit greeted me with a tearful eyes and a smile.

“Wait, what happened? Did you cry?”  I said while pointing at his eyes.

“Avy, I have something to tell you,” he said while looking straight into my eyes.

“Huh? What? Tell me,” I said while smiling.

“Tita Rose and your mom,” he whispered.

“Hah?” My smile faded when he mentioned tita rose and mommy’s name.

“Is dead,”
