Chapter Seventeen

Avyanna Elyse

“Wait a second," I pushed him before he can kiss me again, ngayon ko lang na-alala.

“Diba inutosan kitang sundoin mo si Treasure kila Kit? Pag si Treasure nabuntis sa pusa ni Kit, ewan ko sayo Rigel,” I said an stood up.

“Ahh, bukas nalang, di naman nag papalapit si Treasure sa ibang pusa, kaya paano siya malalapitan? Pano mabu-buntis? Just chill,” he said and tried to pull me back, but I resisted.

“I forgot that I have tons of cases pa, mamaya nalang,” I said and kissed him on his cheek.

A year had past, now finally what I always prayed about na I could have my own office, now I really did, since marami nakong napanalong cases and my win rate is 90.1% maraming gustong magpahawak ng case and I always got a award as Defense Attorney of the month.

Not like in our own office sa isang office halos walang space ang daanan sa napaka rami namin, now at God’s will I finally got my own.

While reading some cases on my own desk an malicious email was being sent to me, at first I didn’t want to read it, thinking that maybe it’s another  death threat, but it made me suspicious seeing our company names.

My eyes widened, seeing the news about our company, the C&G and the Gonzales company, now gone.

Matapos kong basahin ang email na pinadala ng isang assistant sa company nila Rigel or should I say Gonzales company at agad kong sinunod na hinanap ang latest news.

Agad kong kinuha ang susi ng aking kotse at walang dalawang isip na pinatakbo ito ng mabilis patungo sa C&G.

I couldn’t resisted to gasp loudly making myself cover my own mouth seeing the C&G building now closed at may naka lagay pa sa main gate na sign saying.

Walang dalawang isip na pinatakbo ang sasakyan ko papuntang Gonzales company nang makarating ako at agad akong tumakbo papasok.

And saw a massive wave of workers walking out the building holding their own box na nag lalaman ng kanya kanyang gamut nila.

“Ma’am Avy! Ang company ku-kunin ng banko!” The person who sent me the email said, looking worried of what will happened.

“First, you need you to tell me where’s Rigel?” I asked making her calm.

“Nasa opisina po, problemado,” she replied at agad naman akong tumakbo patungong office and saw Rigel, walking in circles, massaging his head.

Agad akong tumakbo palapit sa kanya and held his face, facing his head on me, I can see from the looks on his eyes na wala na siyang maisip na paraan at gulong gulo na siya.

“Avy,” he said, he’s expression changed when he saw me.

My heart broke when I saw a tear on his eyes, falling massively.

“What happened?” I asked and was about to cry, but I chose not to.

“I don’t know, I don’t know at first I was tracking down a person who’s taking money from me, minutes later all our workers starting to panic, dala dala ang kanya kanyang gamut palabas, fuck, ginawa ko ang lahat Avy, ginawa ko ang lahat para maging maayos at mas lumaki ang mga companya,” he said and hid his face to my shoulders.

“No, no it’s not your fault, it’s not, you did great, you did all you need, I don’t believe that both of our company got jammed because of you and really? In one day? heck that, alam kong may taong may kapakanan nito,” I said and slowly raising Rigel’s face.

“For now, go home I’ll do something important,” I said and kissed him on his cheek and left.

While driving I sighed a thousand times, keeping a head if myself.

That evil wench, kung alam ko lang talaga sa una na ikaw pala, saan matagal na kitang pina-libing ng buhay.

I shouldn’thave trusted you, Nicole.

Agad akong pumunta sa bahay ni Nicole, ang dating secretary ng tatay ni Rigel at ngayo’y secretary na rin ni Rigel.

I slammed my cars door and stormed in her house when I just saw an old woman counting money.

“Where’s Nicole?” I asked looking at her straightly.

When I saw her slowly hid her money.

Damn like I care about your stupid money?

“Where’s your fucking amo?” I stated again.

“Wala, hindi ko alam umalis,” she answered, I just grinned.

“I know that you’ll say that,” wika ko sabay labas ng pitaka ko, letting her see my id.

I saw her eyes widened and almost panicked.

“Nako! Wag miking ikulong! Nasa airport ngayon, paalis ng pinas!” she shouted and ran.

I was about to turn on my car to ran fats to the airport when my phone rang.

“Yes? Hello Rigel? Everything alright hmm?” I said, answering his call.

“Where are you?” he said, coldy.

Huh? What happened? Bat ang cold niya?

“Im on my way to the airport, I’m gonna catch Nicole, she’s the one who did this,” I said when I heard him sighed on the line.

“No, don’t, go home, let’s talk,”  He said and made me conscious.

“Huh? heck no, It’s Nicole, she’sthe one who’s stole the company’s money,”I said, making me wanna scream in anger.

“Damn, we in-trusted her for years with our company, and this? That woman is bullshit,”

“Avyanna, go home, immediately,” he said, with an angry tone that made me conscious even more.

“ Uhh, sige, I’m coming by—,” di ko pa natapos ang sasabihin ko at agad niya nang pinatay ang tawag.

Habang nasa byahe ako I couldn’t resist of thinking of what might happen, always nalang pag tinatawag na akong Avyanna ni Rigel, it’s no good.

Agad akong pumasok sa bahay, after parking my car, when I noticed something strange.

Agad kong nakita si Rigel na naka upon sa couch, looking down, deeply thinking.

“Rigel, what is it? I’m here,” I said, he slowly raised his head and sighed when our eyes met.

“Sit,” he said, tapping at the couch.

Agad naman akong sinunod, still looking at his eyes straightly.

“What is it?” I asked.

“I wanna tell you something, very important, now listen to me,” he said, holding my hand, habang may nilalabas na papel sa isang folder.

My eyes grew when I saw what’s on the paper.

He looked at me, seeing  na gets ko na agad ang sasabihin niya.

A tear fell from my eyes.

“Gago, prank yan,” I said fake fully laughing at him, habang pinupunas ang luha na dumadaloy na galing asking mga mata.

Mas lumakas ang daloy ng luha ko ng umiling ito, hawak hawak ang kamay ko.

“Let’s get divorce,” he said.

“Tanginang prank nyan, di nakakatawa Rigel, bwesit, tigilan mo,” I said, kahit lumuluha ako ay kitang kita ko na may luhang tumulo sa mga mata ni Rigel.

“Im fucking serious, A-avy,” wika into, sabay abot ng divorce papers.

“B-bakit? A-anong dahilan, hah Rigel?” di ko na natapos ang sasabihin ko marahil nangi-nginig na ang boses ko.

“Ju-just sign the fucking papers,” he said urging me to sign the paper.

“Ayoko! Ayoko! Eh gago ka pala eh! Sabihin mo ang dahilan mo wag naman ganito Rigel oh!” I shouted and was about to crumble the divorce papers when Rigel took it form me.

“J-just please, sign it already,” he pleased, emotionless, parang laro lang para sa kanya ang nangyayari.

“Give me one reasonable reason why,” halos iyak ko lang ang mariring sa buong kwarto, habang si Rigel ay tahimik na naka tingin sakin.

“You want reason? FINE!” he shouted, making me shocked at what he just did.

“Potangina Avy, ganito ka ba ka despirada kaya ayaw mong permahan ang divorce?!”

“Pagod  nakong mag kunwaring mahal kita! Halos buong buhay ko nag drama ako na mahal kita para mabayaran lang utang namin! Oo potangina ginamit lang kita! At alam kong halos lubog kami sa utang noon! Pero wala eh! Pagod  nako! Pagod  nakong mag laro! Permahan mo na para natapos na! Kung inisip mo man na kung minahal kita maski isang katiting mali ka! Dahil sa simula’t una hindi kita mahal at hinding hindi kita ma-mahalin!”he said making me speechless.

“H-hindi,” hindi makapaniwalang wika ko.

“Permahan mo nalang,” he said and threw the papers in my face.

It broke my heart into pieces.

“Sana umalis   ka nalang agad at hindi na nagpakita sakin kesa gawin mo to, Rigel,” I smiled, while signing the divorce contact.

He quickly took the papers and hide it back on the envelope.

Hagulgol nakong umiyak nang makitang tumayo na si Rigel, ngayon ko lang napansin na may mga bagahe na pala na naka impake si Rigel.

Habang palabas na siya ng bahay aya bigla itong tumitigil, kahit hindi ko na masyadong nakikita ang lahat dahil sa luha ko ay kita kong tumitigil ito sa harap ng pinto.

“San ka pu-punta?” tanong ko habang nangi-nginig ang balikat ko.

“Pu-punta ako sa isang lugar oaray maging ganap na'ko na piloto,” he said and made me cry more.

You promised me that you won’t leave me.

“P-please, wag naman ganito,” pag makakatawa ko  habang hagolgol na umiiyak sa kanyang paa, na halos halikan ko na ito wag lang siyang umalis.

“From this day forward, we’ll be nobody, like we never met, we never loved each other, we’re now divorced, forget me, Avyanna Elyse,” he said and walked out completely.
