Chapter Eleven

As I walk on the stairs holding Kit’s hands everyone looked at me like I was a brightest star they saw I just smiled at everyone.

At agad nasagip sa mga mata ko si Rigel at Fhreya na naka tingin sakin, both smiling at me, but I just ignored them.

The party was the greatest, everyone looked amazing with their vintage outfits.

As everyone dances, pasa pasa akong sinasayaw ng mga guest, and when I saw that it was Rigel’s turn to dance with I skipped him, at bumalik kay Kit.

“Gutom nako kit, tara na,” I said and made him laugh.

“Alam mo ba Avy kanina ko pa gustong maiyak,” he said while laughing, agad na kumunot ang noo ko dahil sa sinabi niya.

“Why?” I said looking at him straight in the eyes.

“Kasi malaki ka na, di naman sa pinipikon kita, pero noong unang kita natin sa school 3 years old ka palang, habang 5 years old lang din ako, dati hinihingan moko ng pagkain, at gumagawa ako ng paraan para makuha yong cereal sa bahay nila Rigel, tapos ngayon hiningian mo ako, ibig sabihin ba nito ako kukuha ng pagkain mo sa kusina?” he said while acting like hes crying.

I punched him lightly habang tumatawa.

“Hakdog ka Kit, tara na nga,” I said at agad siyang hinila pero bigla niya akong pinigilan, agad akong tumingin sa kamay kong hinahawakan niya at kasunod na tumingin sa kanya.

He opened a red box and opened it, and saw a Crescent moon necklace, dahan dahan na isinuot niya ito sakin at ngumiti.

“Remember what I said noong bata pa tayo?” he said while smiling.

“Kahit talikuran ka ng mundo, at kinulong sa madilim na pagsubok andito lang ako parati, Avy, always remember that I’ll be your moon, who’ll give you light in every dark days you have,” he said making me smile.

I was about to hug Kit but when Rigel suddenly pulled my wrist, at nilayo ako kay Kit.

“That’s enough,  you’re in a middle of a crowd, and you’re both doing this shit?” Rigel seriously said while looking at me.

“Rigel, ano ba nasasaktan mo na si Avy,” Kit whispered at him, habang walang nakakapansin sa’min.

“Tumigil ka nga Rigel, ano gusto mong sirain birthday party ko? Sige sabihin mo kasi ako kusa sisira,” I said taking a glass of champagne and was about to spill it on Fhreya when Rigel stopped me.

“Avy, Tara,” Kit suddenly pulled me at ngayon ko lang napansin na marami na palang luhang dumadaloy sa mata ko.

“Bahay tayo, movie marathon ganurn, sabihan ko si Tito Maya,” he said while pulling me outside the house.

I just nodded and didn’t even tried to object his idea.

“May damit ka pa ata don sa kwarto mo,” he said nang makarating kami, I have my own room on Kit’s house usually I go there when I got bored.

“l’ll take a bath, muna,” I said and quickly walked into the room.

My body couldn’t help it and lost it’s strength, dahan dahan akong dumaos-dos sa pinto at niyakap ang aking tuhod at inilabas ang lahat.

After I took a bath, now drying my hair I heard a knock outside and opened it, seeing Kit na sa panamit ay may pu-puntahan.

“Bili lang ako foods natin, balik lang ako saglit ah,” he said agad naman akong tumango at sinara ulit ang pinto.

Minutes later I heard loud noises down stairs and now, someone’s knocking at the door, like it’s breaking it.

First I look if who was it when I saw Rigel.

I slowly opened the door seeing him angry.

Agad nawala ang galit sa mukha niya nang tinignan ko ito sa mga mata.

Ngitian ko Ito and gave him a wave on the hand.

“I'll stay here muna, we’ll be having a movie marathon,” I said and was about to close the door when he held it at pumasok sa room.

“Avy,” he said looking straight into his eyes.

Sinimangutan ko lang siya and turned my back on him, baka biglang tumulo ang luha no sa harap niya.

But he pulled my wrist and hugged me tight.

“I’m sorry, I’m so so sorry,” he said still hugging me.

“I know, please, wag mo nang sabihin,” I said now crying.

“ It’s all my fault, I’m sorry for doing this, but I’ve fallen in love with Fhreya, Avy,” he said and made cry more.

“Sabi ko wag mo nang sabihin,” I said punching his chest, but he let’s me  do it.

“Yeah, I know I’m fucked up, do it, punch me harder because I know I’m a jerk,” he said.

I looked into his eyes, now filled with tears.

“You really love her?” I asked wala pang isang segundo ay tumango Ito.

“We’ll then, go, let’s get divorce,” I said and smiled at him.

“No, I love you Avy,” he said hugging me.

“Eh anong magagawa ko? Mahal mo rin si Fhre eh! Anong magagawa ko? Umalis ka nalang,” I said pushing him away.

Bigla itong lumuhod sa harap ko, hawak hawak ang kamay ko.

“No, no, I love you Avy, I love you, wag naman ganto, pakiusap naman oh,” he said, kissing my hand.

“If you do really love me the at 1st place why did you let yourself fall for her?  why Rigel?”  I said but he keep crying, whining.

“Tanongin kita, Mahal mo ba si Fhreya diba?” I ask whipping my tears.

He didn’t answered and keept crying.

“ Hindi, hindi walang divorce, Avy hah?” he said pulling my hand.

“Anong gusto mo? Mag mahal ka ng iba habang kasalado ka sa’kin? Rigel sa’kin okay lang pero noon yon! Noon! Mamili ka, ako or si Fhreya!?” I shouted, if he knew the pain I need to get through.

“Basta sabihin mo, sabihin mo walang divorce, wala, Avy,” he said pleasing the same word all over again.

“Potangina naman oh! Alam ko na isasagot mo Rigel eh! Mandadaya ka na naman eh! Kung aalis ka umalis kana! Kasi for fucking sake I’m tired! Ubos na ubos nako! Pagod nakong mag pakatanga!” I shouted and pulled my hand from him, I was about to walked away when he hugged me.

“Avy, wag wag kasi ako kahit ako na mag lilinis mag lu-luto sa bahay, ayaw mo sa laba diba? Ako na din! Sige na wag Naman ganto oh!” he said hugging me tight, and that’s when I burst.

“Rigell! Nahihibang ka na!! Leave! Leave! I hate you! Fuck you! Alam ko kung ayaw mo ng divorce kasi si Fhreya ang pipiliin mo at Hindi ako! Ano ako tanga? Potangina niyan! I may be a minor but I’m not a child anymore! If you really chose Fhreya then leave at once, I’m not begging for anyone to stay here! ” I shouted and sat on the side of the table.

Until he left me, sign of choosing Fhreya, bullshit.

“Avy!” I saw Kit ran to me.

“Kit,” I smiled at him, and cried back to my feet.

“I hate my birthday,” I whispered.

I woke up, this is the 6th time, it’s already 2 am but still panay ako iyak, I cried myself to fall asleep pero nagising din ako agad.

I didn't know that helping someone for their own sake would kill me.

I smiled, ang tanga ko pala.

After a week I didn’t gave Rigel a chance to  see me, knowing that I’m  flying  back to States.

“Avy, let’s go?” Kit lend his hand to me, while holding his own baggages, Kit’s comings with me, and he even insisted na sumama Ito, my dad doesn’t know about our problem, because I choose not to tell him, he might pull me up from the marriage and also pull the money he used to help the Gonzales company.

“Ewan ko ba, kanina nakita ko si Rigel sa labas, pero hindi ko pinapasok, ano ba talaga ang nangyari Avy?” he asked, nakokonsensya nako, he’s helping me , kahit walang kaalam alam sa problema

“Just ignore him,” I said and wear my shades before coming outside Kit’s house.

“Okay? Sige tara baka ma late na tayo sa flight natin,” he said and took my baggages also.

Habang bumibili ng pagkain si Kit ay agad kong napansin ang mga babaeng naka takong at naka bitbit ng mga bags, kasama ang mga lalaking nag u-usap usap.

Mga Flight attendant at pilot.

I smiled when I remembered that Rigel also really wants to be a pilot, but he promised that he’ll follow his dad’s footsteps, a businessman.

“Avy tara, oh cookies,” he said saby abot ng isang paper bag ng cookies at isang box na fresh milk.

“Let’s go then,” I said and smiled.

1 year later

“Oy oy oy! Naks graduating na! Ilang kembot nalang judge at abogado na tayo!” Kit said while holding my hand, jumping cheerfully, his always cheers me up whenever I felt sad.

Ewan it’s been a year but I always think about Rigel.

Miss na miss mo parang pinuntahan ka naman.

“Kelan ulit tayo u-uwi Kit?” I asked habang kumakain kami.

“After graduation, teka anong date ngayon?“  agad naman akong bumaling sa cellphone ko and checked the date.

“10th of February,” I answered and saw Kit’s reaction.

“Gago, Feb 20 graduation natin, Feb 26 debut mo na!” he said and stood up.

“Oh? Tapos? San ka pupunta?” I asked looking at him.

I don’t care about my birthday anyway since it always cause me pain and misfortune.

“Kukuha na agad ng ticket, para bukas na bukas matapos ng  graduation uwi na tayo oy!” he said and talked to someone on his phone.

“Yie, sanaall Valedictorian, ako dapat yon eh!” kit jumped into me at agad na umakbay sa’kin.

“Whatever, if you want you’ll be the valedictorian I’ll be the salutatorian,” I said while eating cookies.

“Sus, nag pa states lang nag ma-maldita na attitude yarn?” he said pinching my cheeks.

“Everyone changes,”

After our graduation Kit Immediately packed my things, i told him ma wag  na kaming bumalik but he still didn’t listen, di niya talaga alam na iniiwasan ko nang bumalik don.

“Avy sa lavatory lang ako,” Kit said and left.

Habang nakatingin lang ako sa window agad napansin kong ang mga flight attendants selling foods and stuff.

My eyes widened when I saw..

“Fhreya,” I whispered and saw her smiled at me.

“Avy, hi,” she said while holding a cup of tea.

“Oh, hi it’s you,” I answered, smiling.

“Kamusta? Alam mo simula noong umalis ka? Di ako makapag focus sa trabaho ko panay kulit kung nakita ba daw kita sa loob ng plane, shunga lang, Miss ka na non,” she said while laughing.

“Oh yeah? Di kayo magka tuloyan?” I said and made her eyebrows furrowed.

I opened my phone at pinaharap ang phone ko at pinakita sa kanya ang picture na nag hahalikan sila ni Rigel and made her cough awkwardly.

“Remember you’re on duty, act professionally,” I said and grinned.

“Maling akala yan, Avy, lasing ako n’yan di ko alam anong ginawa ko,” she said and laughed.

“Sige una nako,” she waved her hand on me and left.

Maling akala?

What did she just said?

“Woy Avy bat ka tulala?” bigla akong nagulat nang  biglaang kurutin ni Kit ang kamay ko.

“Nothing,” I said and close my eyes.
