IRISH

This was the only name which failed to disappear from Adrian's mind ever since he left her behind and went to work, and the only name that rang a bell in his head till he gave out the command.

"Carson, turn the car now. Take me back to the mansion." Adrian's voice was low, yet yielding so much authority that Carson felt his hands moving following every single word that fell off Adrian's lips.

As the speeding car ran on its tires, Adrian steadily tapped his foot on the ground, his eyebrows raised, a look of unease settling on his features.

Fishing out his phone from his suitcase, he unlocked it, only to stare at the lock screen before looking out the window. This was the secret he kept from everyone else. It was the fact that merely staring at Irish brought him peace.

Was that supposed to calm him?

Yes. It usually did, but today, he wasn't himself. Not when Irish was being tortured right in his house.

A heavy lump settled in his throat which refused to go away. And even when he s

On getting to the hospital, Adrian sprang out of the car like a maniac. He carried Irish's frail body and ran to the emergency department of the hospital. When he got there, all the nurses and doctors were pretty occupied, attending to either accident victims, or people that got affected by gunshot. But all Adrian cared about was Irish."Fucking attend to her." Adrian grabbed a doctor by the collar and put Irish into his arms. His voice cried out in desperation. "She needs to survive. Doctor. Please save her, or I won't be able to forgive myself." There were no tears in his eyes, not because he didn't feel like shedding them but because he wasn't used to letting his emotions show. All that sat on his face was a neutral expression. It was neither a scowl nor anything funny."Alpha. She'll be fine. I'll see to that." The doctor said and laid Irish on a stretcher before calling for the help of other nurses before they rolled her away.As Adrian uneasily trotted the corridors, waiting im

"What...doctor what do you mean. Can you speak...speak in clear terms?" Adrian stuttered, cocking his head to the side as he tried to decipher the doctor's words. His eyebrows knitted as worry lines sat in them.He wanted her to live, he wanted that so badly that his breath hitched in his throat, his fist clenching so tightly that his fangs almost shot out.His hurt turned to anger and he suddenly wanted to take it all out on the doctor, but he knew better. The doctor must have tried his best to save her life. The doctor's eyes were still fixed on his fangs as he stuttered, "The patient is fine and will soon be out of the intensive care unit, but the baby...is in danger and we might be forced to choose between baby and mother."Adrian let out a breath of relief he didn't know he was holding. At least, it wasn't Irish's life after all.Just then, the fact struck his senses. He had wanted Irish from day one because she was to be his breeder. This was his aim together with Ashley. He was

"Alpha, we got a leading information on who caused the accident." An urgent tone resounded from the other end, causing Adrian to loosen his grip on Ashley's wrists, his focus, shifting to the caller as his frown deepened in concentration.Jaw ticking, Adrian turned away, his eyes a fiery red flame."We must make sure to get to the end of this. When we find whoever tried to hurt our mate..." Orion paused, his anger simmering right below the surface before he continued."...you must let me tear them. Limb. To. Limb." Adrian could feel Orion's urge to bare his teeth and fangs while tearing the sorry victim apart. It took a great deal of effort to concentrate back on the voice speaking through the phone."What information?" Adrian demanded."One of the hummers had a tracker. We managed to hack and decode their system and we are keeping tabs on the address. Will inform you when everything is ready." "Good. Leave no stone unturned. And don't disappoint me." Adrian nearly snapped before end

As Adrian left his office, the wristwatch on his wrist vibrated and instinctively, he raised his hand to stare at his LED watch.Squinting his eyes, he frowned the moment he read the message sent by his male personal assistant. The reason for his frown was not just that he had to attend an emergency conference meeting but that it was almost closing hours, and his fear of dirt - Mysophobia, would cause him to take a fresh shower before attending the meeting.Irish had kneeled him, stepping on him in the process. The meeting would last an hour but it was an impactful one which worth several millions. With such a meeting in mind, Adrian dashed into his office, and then quickly entered into the restroom in his office.Irish's eyes followed Adrian's movement as she watched him dart behind a strange door she hadn't yet noticed.A few minutes later, the automatic door glided open, causing Irish to look up in that direction.Seeing Ashley, Irish jolted forward as a gasp escaped her lips the

Irish's heart wasn't the only one hammering against her ribcage.Their closeness, too, was leaving Adrian breathless, intoxicated even. His lashes lowered and fluttered. It felt like a jinx, like an enchantment, everything about the smoothness of her skin and the way she slightly parted her lips, her sexy immaculate teeth on half display, drawing him to her like magnets.Cocking his head with the desire to shove his tongue in her mouth filling his veins, Adrian's eyes darkened the more, this time with intense desire. There were no words spoken but the energy emitted by their skin-to-skin contact spoke a million words.Seeing how he stared down at her like he couldn't simply get enough, coupled with the need to rebel against Ashley who stayed just a few walls away, that cocky part of Irish arose. Her hands glided across his slimy back as she took quick seconds to caress his muscled back. Her soft fingers trailed and sooner than expected, it sparked a generous reaction from Adrian.A m

The next morning, Irish awakened with sunshine on her face, giving her that perfectly tanned skin shade. Springing to her feet, she yawned and stretched out her arms. For the first time in months, she felt happy. No, she rather felt fulfilled, perhaps happy was not the word. A smile crept up her lips, her inner wolf, wagging its tail in excitement of such intimacy with their mate. "You should do that often with our mate. Our baby's gonna be healthier." Elsa remarked naughtily. "Don't be naughty Elsa, we should be worried about what Ashley wants to do next. I'm an obvious threat now." "Might as well snatch our mate from the hands of that witch." A knock was rasped on the door, disrupting Irish's little conversation with her wolf. Her chin lifted upward, as she told the person at the door to come in. Seeing it was Nora, Irish came down from the bed, sliding her legs into the flip-flops. "Nora, how are you?" Ever since the last incident, all the servants in the house s

Irish paced back and forth in her room, before collapsing with her back, on the bed. The bed made a creaking sound but she couldn't care less."What has gotten into me?" Irish asked herself as she lifted her hand to her face, using her shaky palm to cover her face.Ever since Nora released the news of her being murdered by Ashley in three days, she had not slept a wink.Irish feared for her life. For the life of her unborn baby.Time seemed to fly so fast ever since then and she wished it could crawl slower.Turning her face to the left, Irish sighed softly. On a table, lay her food untouched. Cynthia had come to give her food but she didn't touch it yet.To make no one suspect that she was not eating it, she had not left her room the whole day. When Cynthia's cat pet entered the room, Irish had pleaded that the animal be left behind. After feeding a few spoons of the soup to the cat when Cynthia left, Irish discovered to her amazement that the cat had been sleeping ever since. Tears of humiliation, rejection, and self-pity, brimmed Irish's eyes as her mind flashed back to Ashley's words to her on one fateful morning when she had said to her,"You are fighting a lost battle, contesting your mate with me. But come to think of it. Is he even worth fighting for?..."Ashley had pinched the bridge of her nose, before shaking her head sideways as if Irish was an object of pity. "...You must be clueless. Adrian is the reason your mother was in that sick bed and the reason she died in the first place."Irish immediately disengaged from the kiss, Ashley's words, ringing like a forbidden bell in her mind.Perhaps she was the fool here. Adrian, her mate didn't love her, neither did he respect her at all. All he did was hurt her whenever he got the chance.Given that he didn't even bother to lock the door, or stop her from catching him in the act, coupled with the fact that she was heavily pregnant...made her break.Raging hormones mixed with sadness and that awful fe

"I can't believe it was my abusive ex-boyfriend stalking me again." Jasmine cried, her eyes and lashes wet with tears. Her nose ran with mucor which she incessantly dried with the help of a tissue paper. After she had rescued Jasmine that same night, she had to bring her down to her house, because she was too scared and traumatized to stay alone. At least, not after what happened with Emerald, her ex-boyfriend.Irish passed a hand around her shoulder. "You're scared and hyperventilating right now, but you've got to tell your brain that everything's in the past now." Irish said."Trust you to give advice when you cry yourself to sleep most times." Elsa chuckled, her tone dripping with sarcasm, making Irish roll her eyes."He...he," Jasmine heaved. "He was going to rape me...and...and hit me." She cried, sniffling hard and she swallowed, pushing her hair backward to expose her neck."I want you to suck in a deep breath." Irish patted her back, while Jasmine followed her instructions. "T

"I need you to tighten your arms around the borders. No rogues must break in. And we must take attendance of soldiers with their thumbprints to enable that there are no traitors allowed in." Adrian announced.Ashley was seated beside him in the now filled Alpha King Industries, at a section of the building which was used solely for pack activities ranging from announcements to meetings and all of that stuff. This was so big an event that Alpha Adrian and Luna Ashley would be broadcast live on all the televisions in every home in Silver Crest pack. This entire room consisted of the honorable, elders of his pack, title holders, his beta, and then the secretary."It has been reported by the chief honorable of the minister of external pack affairs, that trade between us and the packs like Raven pack, Blood moon pack, Great Oak, and the Iron Knight pack..."At the mention of Iron Knight Pack, Ashley frowned in concentration."...has solidified within the years." Irish opened a small compactment which was on the top of her bike, and then, brought out a short black pistol."It's loaded. Just great." Irish muttered under her breathe and attached a silencer then, began walking into the scene of the fight which was shrouded in darkness.Looking ahead, her eyes trained on Liam. He was fighting off some rogues and human street fighters at the same time. He threw a punch at one, and the other, he threw a flying kick.Grabbing another by the throat, Liam punched him hard in the gut..By the way, just as Irish could see, Liam must have thought that none of the fighters possessed a gun, and he had used his hands and feet to fight them all to the ground. However, just as he kicked the last man standing to the ground, with a triumphant smile tugging at the corners of his lips, he didn't notice one of the defeated men who was on the floor, holding a gun and pointing it at him from behind.Liam slowly turned around, perhaps, to leave the scene, but the unfo

Irish threw a gum in her mouth, flexing her jaw as she bit into the softness.Another reminder of the benefits of money - she had rented a new apartment for Jasmine to leave.Of course, the lady was more scared and questioning than excited but Irish had assured her that it was her savings for the rest of the years he settled in Iron Knight.Irish, who was lying on her back on the bed and holding her PC up while she operated, suddenly jerked up from that position and put the laptop aside.Looking beside herself, her eyes fixed on Jayden who was fast asleep. Liam knew exactly how to catch anyone on the face of the planet. As he wasn't a dunce, he had trailed Irish to her house to find some men trying to break in.He had then refrained from going there, because from his calculation, Irish must have escaped. He had watched from a distance and even after they broke in, Irish and her son didn't even come out to meet the intruders, meaning that they were quick to escape.Liam walked to Irish, his eyes blank, cold, and void of any emotions."I want my money now. Hand it over, or I'll get your son killed."Irish chuckled, "What makes you think my son is within your reach? Or I'll let you touch him?""You know nothing of who I am. One snap of my finger and your son goes missing."Irish whipped her head to the side to stare at Jasmine. She was hurdled on one side of the bed, fear clearly written all over her face. Irish felt pity for Jasmine. Who knows what Liam must have done to her?All of a sudden, Irish clutched down at her stomach, like her

Irish walked into her new apartment feeling like someone who had just won a trophy. Truly, money answered all things - if not, how else was she supposed to pay for an apartment and get it furnished to her taste in one day?"Jayden, come here." He handed her a takeaway plate. She had bought spaghetti and meatballs on her way here. While he ate, she placed the box on the bed, pulling items out and arranging the things she had come here with. She let a sigh escape her lips. Escaping there was one hell of a ride. She walked past the kitchen and living room and went straight to her room. She had commercial cleaners come clean here hours before she came in and looking at the room, they had done a pretty good job.In the room, the bed was situated right beside the window. She smiled when she remembered they had adhered to her strict instructions to make sure that the beddings were all white. An in-closet was situated by the right, and by the left, just close to the exit door was the dressin

"Stop your search for Irish now!" Ashley boomed. "Or else I'll tell the world your secret." Ashley snarled, slapping hard the table in front of her.Seated across from her was Adrian, he was in his leather recliner chair, sipping hot coffee. Sometimes he'd drink that so much just to help him not to asleep, since he hardly slept with nightmares of Irish tormenting him.Halfway shutting his eyes, he dropped the cup of coffee on the table and peered at a fuming Ashley."We agreed not to let a word of this get out." He thinned his lips and raised his brows at her."Yes. Adrian. The same way we promised each other forever but guess who's not keeping that promise now." She folded her arms across her chest and faced the other side, snorting, "Hmmph. I wonder what the pack member will be saying about their Alpha when news gets out."Adrian groaned, getting up to meet Ashley's standing posture. "You're going to listen to me and keep that wide mouth of yours shut...""No, I won't..." Ashley cut

Adrian approached a very beautiful garden. This garden had so many beautiful flowers in it, ranging from the purple hibiscus to lavender, sunflower and so many others which he couldn't name.He continued walking towards the garden, unable to fathom why he was so happy and elated at nature's work. Then his gaze landed on her.She was laughing with a stranger - a man, horrifically so.She did a little happy dance with her back faced to him, her brown colored hair glistening high in the air against the sun and then she turned around and their eyes met. Those gorgeous brown eyes belonged to his mate -Irish.On seeing him, the smile on her face dwindled into something like an angry frown. Before Adrian could get a grasp of everything that was happening, that same man who was dancing with her, took advantage of her distracted state, pulled out a sharp knife from behind him, and then drove it deep into her belly.Irish gasped, her eyes horrified as blood sputtered everywhere. Then she scream

"What?!" Adrian jolted up on his feet. "You've finally found her? Where?"He asked, his eyes alert and his ears attentive."We found her at Orange County. She works at one of the clubs there.""Good." Adrian swallowed in excitement. "Just good. I need you to send me the address right about now." It was an order.Adrian smiled. After six years, he had finally found an authentic lead on Irish. He had searched nooks and crannies of Silver Crest pack but she was nowhere to be found. He had searched also in neighboring packs but she wasn't present either. At those points in his life, it felt like he had lost interest in everything. Everything that mattered and everything that once made sense to him, he went cold at them.Even pack duties and his office at Alpha King Industries lacked the enthusiasm with which he usually worked..Getting her out of his mind was impossible. Ashamed as he was to say this. Her absence simply left a void in his heart that no one could possibly fill."I'm sorry
