"Fuck!"
Dahan-dahan akong tumayo. With my silk night dress and cottony slippers, I walked through the corridors leading the staircase.
Why is he awake at this time? Lahat ng tao natutulog na and why is he breaking things. Saktong pagkababa ko, nakita ko siya.
With his usual suit slightly disheveled and his hands bleeding.
His eyes stared at me, emotionless.
I sighed. Amoy alak siya. Just like the usual nights. Kung walang dalang babae, umuuwi namang lasing.
"Why are you so noisy, Cevier?
What the heck is his problem?
"What's the problem?" He mockingly laughed.
"You! You are the problem!" He roared.
Nagtiim-bagang ako. Mariin ko siyang tinitigan."Ako?! Ako pa 'yong may problema?! E, sino ba sa ating dalawa 'yong palaging lasing at may babae pagka-uwi?" I bursted out.
Nagtaas-baba ang aking dibdib. I was lack of having air from saying those words in a short peroid of time.
"Why are you nagging me now? You shouldn't act like a jealous wife! Anong gusto mo? You think I'll baby you? Do you think I'm dumb?
It was never the money. Pinagkasundo kami noong mga bata pa kami.
"You know the fucking reason why we got married, Cevier!"
"I know the reason! The reason I told you is true! Naghihirap na kayo noong panahon na naikasal tayo! Your family's fucking greedy of money!"
Nag-init lalo ang dugo sa kaniya. Pamilya ko? Ganid sa pera? How dare he say that!
If I have known that you're a jerk, babaero, walang respeto sa kapwa, e 'di sana hindi na ako nagpakasal sa'yo!
"Huwag mo akong talikuran! Hindi pa ako tapos!" Parang kulog na sigaw niya.
"Tatalikod ako kung gusto ko! Ayaw ko nang magtiis sa'yo! In these five years of loveless marriage!
The sound of breaking glass is the only noise that I heared in this living room. Nilingon ko siya. I was slightly terrified when I saw him.
It was as if I've been a martyr wife to him. I didn't get the chance to marry someone I want. Nang dahil sa kasunduang ito, I was never free. I never felt free.
"I'm fucking tired of this marriage!" sigaw niya.
I sneered at him."Akala mo ikaw lang? Cevier, ako rin! Pagod na rin ako!"
"Then fucking stay away from me!"
Suddenly, an idea came into my mind. "Then if we're so tired with each other, and you want me to stay away from you, shouldn't we file a divorce?" I bravely asked.
He clenched his jaw. Looking at me darkly. "If you want a divorce, I'll call my lawyer tomorrow."
"S-sure. And we'll have to keep it a secret."
"Why?"
"So, the public won't know and so as our parents. We'd be in big trouble if we let them know. Our shares in our company will be gone."
"That's it? Ganoon-ganoon nalang 'yon? You never even hesitated to consider this that we're gonna fix it?"
I rolled my eyes. I considered this marriage a lot of times. Sinugal ko pa nga 'yong buhay ko. Pero walang nangyari.
"Why should I consider to fix this loveless marriage right now? You never considered this marriage in these past years, so why should I? Let's have a divorce, Cevier." Bumigat ang dibdib ko pagkatapos sabihin iyon. Naalala ko ang sarili ko noon. So helpless, desperate. Pero hindi na ngayon. I'll make sure I have my peace.
"Nevermind, as if I'd want more time to spend with you,"
"And so do I,"
"Then it's settled then. I'll call my lawyer tomorrow so we can file a divorce."
I smiled as I heard him.
"I want you to get your things out of this mansion once we got divorce, Darya!"
"No problem, Cevier! I'll move my things tomorrow morning."
=========[❀𝗖𝗖𝗕<3𝗗𝗩❀]==========
"Mr. & Mrs. Montebella, please take your seat." The Lawyer motioned us to sit on the chair in front of the mahogany table.
I awkwardly smiled. Mrs. Montebella...nevermind, I'll change my name. When this is done.
I mean it's normal that in any form of greetings they can call us as 'Mr. & Mrs. Montebella' but ngayon niya pa kami tatawagin ng ganito?
Nanatili siyang nakatayo.
"So, what brings you here?" Ani ng Attorney.
"We wanted to file a divorce Attorney," sabi ko, hindi na hinintay si Cevier na magsalita.
"Hm. Okay, let me get the documents, Mr. & Mrs. Montebella. Might as well, pwede ninyong pag-usapan muna kung pwede pang magbago ang inyong isip at pwede pang isalba ang pagsasama ninyo."
You're not satisfied with your wife or it goes the other way around? Your wife isn't satisfied with you..." Attorney said.
Nanatili akong tahimik. He knows this guy. He finds this scene entertaining. Or maybe he's just used to this that he finds this funny?
"Just shut up and let us file a divorce in peace, Mr. Vasquez," Ani Cevier.
The Mr. Vasquez laughed mockingly. "Oh, I'm sorry, Mr. & Mrs. Montebella, I'm just curious why... The couple of the wedding of the decade, as to what the magazine says, is filling a divorce. I wonder what happened. Nevertheless, it's not my business just like how my friend said, who happens to be your husband, Mrs. Montebella."
Lumabas ang Attorney para kunin ang documents. The awkward air filled the room. Umirap ako. I can't bear to be with him any longer.
"Are you happy that we're having a divorce?" Nagsalita siya.
Hindi ko siya nilingon. "Yes." Because I can finally have peace.
"Good for you." He said.
Kumunot ang noo ko. Why the heck did he say that? What does he mean 'Good for me'?
"Good for us." sabi ko.
He crossed his arms and said. "Whatever your decisions as a couple, right now. I hope it will help you grow as a person and not regret it. That's my only advice for the two of you. Please sign the documents, Mr. & Mrs. Montebella."
I immediately signed the documents without hesitation. I smiled at the Lawyer.
"Don't worry, Attorney. Neither both of us will regret this decision. The feeling is mutual." sabi ko.
Nakasimangot akong nakatingin doon. Nagtaas-baba ang kaniyang adams apple.
"The feeling is obviously not mutual, Mrs. Montebella."
The Attorney's broke my trance. Lumipat ang tingin ko sa kaniya. He smirked at me.
I said.
I rolled my eyes. This guy really knows how to make my blood boil!
"I guess my wife really wants to get away from me so bad." He calmly said.
Pilit akong ngumiti. "Attorney, can you please give us some privacy, if we may?"
"Sure, Mr. & Mrs. Montebella. I'll send the papers to the both of you, tomorrow moring. I will submit this later. In the mean time, you can wait until tomorrow. Thank you and you can use my office as long as you want."
"What the heck is your problem, Cevier?! 'Di ba napag-usapan na natin 'to?!"
"You wanted a divorce para maging kayo ng ex mo!"
My ex?! What does he mean by that?
"What the heck are you talking about?"
"You're going back to your ex!" Umalingawngaw ang boses niya.
"So what if I wanted to go back to my ex! Wala na iyon sa'yo. We're already divorce by tomorrow. So, you have no business anymore with whatever I wanna do with myself!"
"Of course I have. Kahit divorce pa tayong dalawa, I still have business with you!"
"No you're not!" You'll never bring trouble to my peace again! I'll do whatever it takes to be unseen. Magtatago ako kung kinakailangan!
Tumayo ako at dali-daling naglakad patungong pintuan.
"You can never get away from me, my Wife."
Uminit ang ulo ko sa sinabi niya. Walang prenong sinampal ko siya.
"Simula ngayon, hindi mo na ako asawa! We're just strangers! So fucking stop calling me wife!"
Marahas ko siyang tinulak at lumabas. I'm not the wife of that manwhore! I can now be free without worrying who to please!
"You may kiss the bride." The priest said with happiness. My heart pounded harshly as the tears suddenly fell upon my cheeks. He flipped the veil to the back as he stared at me harshly. I swallowed a lump in my throat, trying not to cry loudly. Hinawi n'ya ang tangkas ng buhok sa likod ng tainga ko."Why did you agree to this when you're just crying pathetic in front of everybody?" He harshly asked. And I'm glad he stopped.Anger inside me built up when he said that. I didn't have a choice but to marry him. And now that our marriage is already sealed, I felt like I'
"What the hell are you doing here?"Nakahawak ako sa comforter ko. I felt my cheeks burned. Nakita niya kaya iyon? Punyeta!"Cevier? Let's continue!" someone said with a irritatingly seductive voice. 'Yong model kanina!"Hm. Let's not do it here,"Narinig kong sabi ng lalaki."Huh? Why not? Cevier,
Growing up with parents who have high expectations for you is difficult. They expect you to act like a mature human. Even when I'm still sixteen years old, I was already trained on how to manage our companies. Although I love doing it, pero iba talaga kapag naka-explore ka habang bata pa.For them, there's no room for any mistakes. They will scold you until you learn your lesson."Masarap ba?" tanong sa'kin ni Kairus.Kairus is my boyfriend. We were already in a one year relationship. It's one of the decision that I have been contemplating before saying yes to Kairus. Kasi alam kong magagalit sila.
"Smile, Darya." My mother whispered to me as we entered the enormous castle.I smiled as some people greeted us. She smiled at her, waving her hands."I need to go, Teodore. Alayssa is waiting over her table."Tumango si Papa at hinalikan ang kaniyang pisngi. My mother said warningly.Tumango ako.Lumapit sa'kin si Ti
The people's eyes are on me. Disgusted at my being. Some of them mockingly smiled at me. While others stared at me with confused expression and a hint of worry in their faces."Darya! What the heck happened to you?!" mariin na bulong ni Mommy."I'm sorry, hijo. You have to see my daughter dirty and disheveled appearance."Ngumiti si Cevier. "No worries, tita. Even in her appearance right now, she still looks beautiful and lovely."My mother laughed at that. She worriedly looked at me.
"Don't you want to cuddle with me?" Cevier said when I stood up.I mockingly sneered at him. "No, I'm good. I don't need some cuddling, Cevier. Hindi naman natin tinuloy iyon."He pursed his lips while looking at me darkly. Sandali kaming nagkatinginan. The way his dark eyes bore into me, speaks a thousand words. But I'm quite uncertain of it. Hindi ko alam kung paano basahin iyon. Wala rin akong kailangan sa kaniya. All I want right now is to get out of here.God, forgive me for what I did. I'm partially regretting entering this walk-in closet of his parents. Nag-iwas ako ng tingin. I immediately grab the unused underwear of his mother. Just one underwear would
"Anje! That's not it!" "What are you talking about? Alam ko ang ginagawa ko!"I stared at both of them. Scrunching my nose at the sight in front of me.They're trying to make some butter cookies in my condo unit. The kitchen's a bit messy. She threw the flour onto him. Nakasandal lang ako sa dingding. Ngumiti ako. Their inner child is playing right now."Ang kalat niyo naman mga anak." I said."Mommy, can help us bake some cake?"What the heck?Hilas! Sinabi niya iyon sa paraang OA na. Acting like a child. The shivers in my spine as I heard his voice. Disgusting!"'Di ba cookies 'yong ibi-bake natin?""Ay, Oo nga pala!""We have to finish this by twelve. Anje asked.
"Let's go." Mariin niyang sinabi. "Pasok." He firmly said.Agad ko namang sinunod ang gusto niya. Pumasok ako sa sasakyan ng hindi umaalma. I patiently waited for him. He turned around. He gripped the steering wheel tightly. Diretso ang tingin niya sa harap ng nakalinyang sasakyan.I felt his anger. I raised my hands. Even though I'm nervous. I wanted to calm him bago kami mag-dinner. Lumapat ang kamay ko sa kaniyang braso. He glanced at me. Pero supladong iniwas ang kaniyang mukha."Hey, are you mad?" tinanong ko pa rin kahit al
“Are you okay?” I asked Darya. Hindi niya ako matingnan. Here we go again. After the things that we did together, it will only be like this…toxic. Nakakasawa rin. It is our honeymoon, we’ve made love… Natagis ako ng bagang ko. “I have to go, please…” At ganoon na lang ‘yon. Hinayaan ko siyang umalis. In the middle of the cold night. I felt lonely and cold. Hindi ko maintindihan. First, the wedding in Hawaii. And no matter what I do, hindi pa rin iyon sapat sa kaniya. I felt that I wasn’t good enough in assuring her that it was only her. She was a family friend. But I hate it that she was spreading such nonsense humor. It frustrates me. Selosa siya. Heck, I was happy about it. It’s one of the things that I love about her. Pero hindi ko mapigilang masaktan. Dahil sa tuwing nagseselos siya,
“Eat. Even if you're angry with me.” Cevier said. Nagluto siya ng kare-kare. Nanatili akong nakahiga sa kama maghapon. Ni hindi nga kami nagpapansinan e. “Wala akong gana.” He sighed. I felt his arms around my waist and he nuzzled into my neck. Para akong nabuhusan ng malamig na tubig. How can he still have this kind of effect on me? When I despise him for having an obsessive ex-fiancee. “Please?” I felt his nose on my neck, inhaling my scent. Mas lalo akong natunaw sa kaniyang bisig dahil sa ginawa niya. “I hate that you’re skipping meals because you’re mad. Please eat. Kanina ka pa walang kain.” We are still in his private villa. And in some instances, he would lay next to me and hug me. Thinking it would ease the anger that I felt for him. It did.
“Cevier Montebella is spotted with the heiress, Gladyss Fererro kissing in the corridor of the high-end club in Taguig. Is this a sign of reconciliation between old lovers?”I saw the article pop-up. Pinindot ko iyon. I can almost hear my heartbeat. He was wearing the tie I gave him while kissing his ex-fiancee. I couldn't believe it. But it wasn’t a surprise. He never failed to disappoint me. “Naku, girl. Huwag kang umiyak masisira ang make up mo.” The make-up artist said.“Huy, Evan. That one articl
Mataman kong tiningnan si Cevier. He looked so stern, but also frustrated. Ngumiti nalang ako at umiling, dismissing our conversation. I can’t…trust him right now. We both stayed quiet. I just thanked him. How long has it been? She looks a bit mature now. She’s not in her favorite cartoon character pajamas anymore. She’s in her high school uniform and a light on her face. She’s wearing her glasses but I’ve noticed something different right now.“Hello, Vien.”“You’re out partying with your friends?” She asked.“Yes. Kasama ko sila Evan. How about you? How’s your day? I’ve noticed…you got your braces removed.”“I’m glad you noticed. Bagay ba sa akin?” She showed me her perfect
"This is all your fault!" I touched my cheek as tears fall down my cheeks. I looked at her like I was questioning my worth.Tinuro ako ni Mama. She is crying, her face is red, and she's also breathing heavily. "How can you be so selfish! Alam mong nababaon na tayo sa utang! Pero ano ang ginawa mo?! You broke the engagement!"I stared at my dearest mother, wide-eyed. Growing up, I looked up to her. Pero ngayon, I hate how she is. How she chose to raise me with tough love instead of gentle parenting.I hated how she made me feel so little. Am I really that selfish to refuse the engagement? I have the right to! He cheated on me—""Pero malulugmok tayo sa kahirapan! Hindi ka ba nag-iisip?!"I stared at her helplessly."And instead of making a solution, you're going to sacrifice me?! Ma! I am your daughter! I am not your sacrificial lamb!"Isang
He didn't ask why. I hugged him for minutes until I started sobbing. He patted my back and ask."What happened?" Somehow, hindi na gaano kabigat ang nararamdaman ko."Why are you back so soon, anak?" Umiling ako. He sighed and never asked again. Hinatid niya ako sa kwarto ko."Everything will be alright. If you don't wanna tell me, it's okay. If you want to cry, then cry. It's alright, anak." His words comforted me."T-thank you, Pa." my voice became raspy. He patted
“Okay…I’ll give you space. I love you.” He sighed painfully. My voice is raspy too. Tanong niya. I glanced at her. Times like this I know that she needs comfort. Even though she’s calm right now, I know her mind is in chaos. She’s really quiet these days.
He sat beside me. I saw you months ago…and you’re not quite yourself back then. Ibang iba ngayon.” “I have some business to attend to. By the way, how are you with Cevier?” He asked before taking a sip to his espresso. He stared at me like something was wrong at my face. “Doin’ good. May business trip siya this week. Anong business mo?” “Semento.” “Talaga?” “Yup.” “So you’re still a student?” “What? No!
Sometimes, I always wonder why I’m always told upon ruling a massive empire at such a young age. I am grateful for everything that I have...more than thankful, even for the little things because that’s how the above expects us to do. To be thankful that he gave us the blessings...trust me, I’m thankful for it. Paulit-ulit na sinasabi ng Daddy iyon. I remember the time that I was visiting the field, where the construction workers do their labor every day, I recalled that I was young. He slowly guided me and pointed at the project that our company is building. It was one of the Montebella’s project, the MHI. “You see that, Darya? Ikaw ang magmamana ng lahat ng iyan.” I pouted and shook my head. “I don’t want it.” He sighed. “Baby, I will give this to you.
