Chapter Fifty One

Above all, nature can actually be our greatest support system. Imagine, on the verge of dying, a heroic tree that lived for almost a hundred decades lent its body for me to lay on.

I'm still fortunate, then. I should be grateful at least. Heavens aren't opening their gates for me yet, that one should be maintained.

"Help mommy out, baby. Come on, cupcake. We can do this... Aurgh!" I groaned as i started getting up from the camphor thick leaves.

Its stems created a creaky sound which made me almost scream. More carefully this time, i held tightly onto the bark until my foot reached the edge point, the last stem supporting my body from not falling down. With the balance i made, i freed my hands out of the bark and let my foot land on the grass.

Looking up at this camphor tree who saved me, i can't help but be fascinated by its huge appearance and greeny ambiance. And a realization hit me, that no matter how dark this place is, there's still goodness living in the hidden part of it.
