VALERIA

I slipped out of my clothes and into something befitting for the evening. I just finished reading a bedtime story to Dave before his eyes fluttered close as he held onto my hands.

My heart swelled as I watched him sleep soundly.

I ruffled his hair gently and pressed a kiss on his forehead.

"Goodnight my angel," I whispered as I tucked him securely under the sheets.

I went to my bedroom and then into the bathroom to wash my face and apply my skincare routine before I called it a night.

I paused and heaved out a deep sigh as I assessed my features in the mirror.
