Rebecca had finished crying, and she was seated on the floor with her hands wrapped around her knees. She couldn't cry anymore, she was tired and hungry, she hadn't eaten anything since the previous day. Just as if her mind was being read, the door opened and Kira walked in, holding a tray of food.
"Get up quickly." Kira said, as she dropped the tray on the bed, ignoring the scattered bedsheet.
Rebecca spared the food a stare, and surprisingly, it was her favorite meal, stir-fried spaghetti.
"Eat up fast, you need to prepare. I made the chef prepare the food with extra spice. I was told you liked it." Kira informed her, before walking out of the room.
She was taken aback. It was true she liked her food extra spicy. How did Kira know about that? Who told her? She was still trying to figure it out when her eyes spotted the tulip of roses on the bedside table. She had seen the flowers when she woke up, but she didn't give attention to it, but now that she thought of it, she became astonished. It was her favorite flower.
She waved the thought and climbed the bed, instantly devouring the food like a hungry lion. In less than five minutes, she was done eating. She drank the juice for easily digestion and took a deep breath after that.
Immediately, the door opened and Kira walked in with a girl. The girl was holding a big box. She placed the box on the other side of the bed and then took the tray out of the room.
"How do you always know when to come in?" Rebecca asked, feeling amused.
Kira always came in at the right time and somehow it was satisfying.
"This box here contains the things you'll be needing to dress up. The boss has brought this to you, you're so lucky." The way Kira said the words with malice didn't go unnoticed.
Rebecca noticed the girl had purposely ignored her question, but she didn't budge, she let it be. Moreover, she had important things to be worried about.
"I don't know what your boss wants or who he is, I just want to go home." She muttered to Kira's hearing.
Kira laughed lightly and Rebecca creased her brows, wondering what was funny in what she said.
"I doubt that, Rebecca," Kira said. She opened the box and pushed it to Rebecca.
Rebecca stared into the box and a frown appeared on her face. "Why do I need all these?" She questioned.
The box contained a black gown, silver heels, a diamond bracelet and a necklace.
"Because you need to look your best before meeting with the boss... Now get up, go to the bathroom, freshen up and put this on, understood?" Kira instructed.
Rebecca scoffed, she didn't understand anything, the whole thing looked like a movie.
"And what if I don't?" She stood her ground. She didn't like the fact that she was being ordered around like a lost puppy.
Without saying a word, Kira dipped her hand in her jacket pocket and took out a gun.
Rebecca backed away immediately. Her heart raced, beating in her chest like a drum. Fear crept up her spine, and the only thing she could do at that moment was to cry.
Kira rolled her eyes as she stared at the poor girl. "Now that you know what I'll do if you don't do as I say, you better adhere to anything I tell you. Understood?"
Rebecca nodded quickly, and a satisfactory smile appeared on Kira's lips.
"Good girl. I'll be back to take you to him." With that being said, Kira walked out of the room.
Rebecca rushed to the bathroom in tears, she didn't want to take chances.
Some minutes later, she was dressed in the outfit, and she looked so gorgeous in it.
If it was a normal day, she would take her time admiring her figure, but not in this situation.
As she walked beside Kira, her melancholic eyes were fixed in a particular direction. She didn't give attention to the luxurious decor of the place.
They got outside the building and even though it was nighttime, the whole place looked bright because of the numerous lights fixed everywhere.
A young man approached them, holding a bouquet of roses.
When he got to them, he handed the bouquet to her, and she didn't want to take it. But as soon as she recalled Kira's action earlier, she collected the bouquet from him.
She watched the guy whisper something to Kira, and he then walked away after that.
"You are so lucky." Kira muttered to her hearing, and she wondered what the girl meant by that.
They continued walking, and Kira stopped when they got to the garden entrance.
"Go on from here. Don't try to do anything stupid, I'll be watching you." She warned her and walked away.
Rebecca took a deep breath, wondering what was awaiting her there.
As she entered the garden, a light gasp escaped her lips. The pathway was adorned with twinkling lights and lanterns, casting a golden glow on the flowers there.
A sweet fragrance welcomed her, and she could tell it was from the roses around the garden.
Whoever the boss was, he definitely knew her favorite flower was a rose.
She spotted a beautifully set table in a quiet corner.
When she got to where the table was, she met a huge figure standing four meters from the table.
His back was turned against her, so she couldn't see his face.
The golden lighting cast a glow on his broad shoulders, highlighting the tension in his posture.
She didn't know if he knew about her presence there, so she decided to speak up. "Hey." She cooed.
She didn't get a reply.
The atmosphere was heavy with anticipation. Her gaze was fixed on his back, searching for clues that might reveal his identity.
Her heart raced with a mix of curiosity and trepidation. She took a deep breath and decided to take a bold step. She walked closer to him and just when she was about to tap his shoulder, he slowly turned to her.
Her hand stopped midair immediately she saw his face. The bouquet fell from her hand.
Her expression transformed from curiosity to shock. Her eyes dimmed, it was as if she had just seen a ghost.
Time freezed as they locked eyes, the air thick with unspoken words.
The silence between them was awkward. Only the gentle rustling of leaves and the soft chirping of birds could be heard.
Her lips parted, but no words came out. She took a step backward, her brain scrambling to process the unexpected situation.
"Axel." His name left her mouth in a whisper.
His bright blue eyes moved from her head to her toes, observing every feature of her. An almost invisible smile appeared on his lips when he spotted a butterfly tattoo on her left wrist. "How have you been, Becca?" His voice was low and smooth. It was slow and deliberate, as if he was choosing each word with care. Rebecca's skin prickled with goosebumps as soon as she heard his voice. For the first time in six years, she was hearing his voice again. Her eyes moved shakily around him. He was no longer the cute young innocent boy she used to know, he had transformed into a dangerous handsome man. He looked dangerous in the black tuxedo. And he had a dark aura around him. He had changed in those years, and she easily noticed it. He took a step forward, and she moved back immediately. She couldn't believe he was the same man she used to love. He was looking so dangerous, and for some reason she was scared. Axel's eyes darkened when he noticed the fear in her eyes. His expression
She saw Axel's eyes flickering in regret, but it didn't last long. "Just know I won't ever hurt you." He mumbled. She was about to speak when he injected her with the syringe, and she immediately passed out in his arms. Axel carried her in his arms and walked out of the garden. As soon as he got outside, he met kira there. She had a frown on her face when she saw him carrying Rebecca. "Should I get someone to come carry her?" She asked. "Get someone to dress her up." Axel said, ignoring her question. "You're taking her back?" Kira asked, a bit surprised. "Don't question me, Kira. Just do as I've said." He ordered. Kira bowed her head, "Okay boss." She muttered and walked away. Axel stared down at Rebecca's face, and he let out a sigh. He continued walking till he got to one of the empty rooms. He placed her on the bed. A few minutes later, Kira showed up with another girl. The girl bowed in a way of greeting, but Axel didn't spare her a stare. His gaze was fixed on Reb
In the dining room, Rebecca, Whitney and Ella were seated patiently, waiting for Eric to bring the food.As soon as Eric dished out the food, Rebecca eagerly took her first bite."This tastes so good." She commented.Eric smiled, he knew her compliment was genuine, not just to make him happy. Her facial expression revealed it.He took his apron off his body and took the seat next to Ella."I'm glad you like it."After that, they all ate in silence. Only the sounds of plates and cutleries clicking could be heard."I'm so glad you are back, I thought I lost you forever." Eric broke the silence."Me too." Rebecca replied with a charming smile on her face.Eric returned the smile. "So tell us, who took you? And why did they let you go?"Ella and Whitney exchanged a knowing glance. They didn't get the chance to warn Rebecca about telling Eric the truth."Well..."Rebecca was still thinking of what to say, when Ella chipped in."She said they got the wrong person. She wasn't the target, but
It was days after Rebecca returned back home, she had finally agreed to move in with Eric after giving it enough thought, and she picked today to move her things to his house.Eric was busy, there was an urgent board meeting so he couldn’t be with her to help her pack her stuff.Whitney and Ella took a day off work just to help her and she was indeed grateful for the friends she had.As Whitney carried the last box into the truck, she spotted a teddy bear bulging out, it couldn’t fully enter the carton. She pulled it out and her eyes dimmed the moment she saw it.She dropped it in the box after a thorough stare at it, and then slowly moved her gaze to Rebecca who was happily chatting with Ella few distance away.No matter how she tried to understand her friend, she just couldn’t understand her to a point. Rebecca had always reveal her hatred for Axel because of what he did in the past, but why did she still have this teddy with her? Why not thrash it?She was there when Axel handed th
”Nice flowers.” Wendy commended as soon as Rebecca entered the room. Rebecca on the other hand didn’t pay attention to what was said. She was lost in a world of her own thought. She didn’t see the face of the biker, but from the sound of his voice, she could tell who it was. It was a voice she would recognize anytime, any day. The voice of the devil who haunts her in her dream. A pat on the shoulder brought her back to reality. She jerked and the flower slipped from her hands, but Wendy caught it before it could fall to the floor.“Thank you.” She mumbled.“You are welcome… By the way, was it Mr Eric that sent you the flowers?” Wendy wanted to know so badly. Because why didn’t the delivery guy hand over the flower to her? Why did he insist on giving it to Rebecca himself? Wendy thought it was something important and secretive, but it was just flowers. Or was there any other package given to Rebecca? Did she hide it? Wendy was so curious.“No.” Rebecca’s short reply added to her
As Rebecca walked out of the house, Wendy tried as much as possible to stop her but all to no avail.“Mr Eric would get angry if you leave without telling me your whereabouts. By the way, it’s getting late and he’ll return soon.” She had tried all she could to persuade her but Rebecca was stubborn. She needed answers and she would get it. She took a taxi to Ella’s apartment and fortunately the sitting room door was opened slightly, indicating Ella was home. As she was about to enter the living room, she heard familiar voices chatting, more like an argument. She wanted to go inside and see what was making them raise their voice at each other, but her steps halted when she heard these words, “You can’t lie to me! I know you called Axel.” Her heart skipped a beat at the mention of his name. What were they talking about? And who called him? Unable to suppress her curiosity, she walked into the house and the two girls were shocked to see her.“Rebecca?” Whitney called, flabbergaste
Whitney and Ella could be seen pacing to and fro in front of the ward Rebecca was in. Immediately Rebecca passed out, they called for emergency and the ambulance arrived in no time. The doctor in charge of Rebecca’s treatment walked out of the ward and they rushed to him immediately.“What happened to her? Will she be okay?” Ella questioned. The doctor’s lips curled up in a charming smile, and they both wondered why he was smiling in such situation.“It’s good to see you genuinely worried about her, she’s so lucky to have both of you.” He commended. “Thank you, but is she okay?” Whitney asked. She wasn’t concerned about his comments on their friendship, that was the least of her problems, but she also didn’t want to sound rude to him.“She’s fine. Her body reacted to shock… By the way, what was going on before she passed out?” The doctor asked keenly.“We were having a normal conversation. Now, if you don’t mind, can we go see her?” Whitney asked.“Sure, you can.” “Thank you.” El
Rebecca pulled her wrist away from Axel’s hand and then moved away from him.“My husband is here, please leave.” The urgency in her voice wasn’t unnoticed. She watched as Axel covered his face with the hoodie and left the ward silently, which was strange. Because she knew Axel so well, he would have tried to protest and won’t leave till she pleads. Something was strange, but she just didn’t know what it was.****** Eric was getting tired of Whitney’s narration, he needed to see Rebecca and Whitney was delaying him by telling story of how Rebecca passed out in the middle of their conversation. Earlier, he was getting ready to leave the company when he received a call from Wendy that Rebecca left home. He called Rebecca non stop but she didn’t pick, he called Whitney too and she also didn’t pick. It was only Ella that answered her call and told him Rebecca was admitted at the hospital. He headed straight to the hospital and met Whitney and Ella at the reception, they were surpri
She was taken aback by his request. Steal? She had never stolen anything and Axel knew that. But what could the thing be and why didn’t Axel send someone else? Many thoughts filled her mind as she waited for him to explain further. She wrapped her hands around her breasts, not because she was shy, but because she suddenly felt cold. She clenched her thighs tightly, trying so hard to surpress the urge to grab Axel and make him do the dirtiest stuff she had in mind. Axel didn’t speak, there was a deafening silence between them and she knew he wouldn’t say anything if she refused to speak first.“Steal what?” He moved closer to her. “I’ll tell you full details later, but for now….” He grabbed her neck roughly and a light gasped escaped her lips. “Let’s make you cum.” With his hand still on her neck, he pushed her to the wall and her back hit the wall roughly.“Shouldn’t we go to a room.” She asked beneath her breath. She was already feeling the tension.“Why would
When she got outside, she let out a deep breath.“Fuck. That was tough.” She muttered. If it wasn’t for the signals Axel gave her, she wouldn’t had been able to handle the situation. She noticed the two guys outside bowed immediately she stepped out and she’s left with a question. How powerful was Michael Lucas before he died? He seemed to be feared and respected and despite being his daughter, she felt she didn’t know him well. The only side she knew was his jovial side, and his caring side. If only death didn’t take him from her. Her lips pressed as she recalled the day of the accident and she wished she died alongside her parents because life was too harsh on her. After one last glance at the men, she walked away. She was able to locate the swimming pool after wandering about the big compound. She sat by the pool side, took off her sandals and dipped her legs in the pool, feeling the coolness.Goosebumps of cold prickled her skin. It felt refreshing and when sh
Rebecca stepped out of the bathroom, her body dripping wet of water. Instead of wrapping her body with the towel, she wrapped her head with the only towel available. She was surprised to see Kira in the room, seated on the bed with a black dress and sandal beside her. The room was specially assigned to her by Axel to stay for the meantime. It was spacious and simple, just as she liked it. They weren’t irrelevant decors, just the lamp nn the bedside table and a small book shelf which was filled with books, then other necessary stuff. She liked reading and was sure Axel gave her this room on purpose.“You can’t be walking around naked.” Kira shrugged as Rebecca walked towards her.“Didn’t know someone was here.” Rebecca replied as she picked the gown from the bed.“Courtesy?” “Axel wants you to put it on.” Kira informed. She observed the dress for a while before moving her gaze to Kira. “It’s late for goodness sake, why should I put this on?” It was a long black sleeveless go
She didn’t want to seem weak, she didn’t want him to see her tears. Quickly, she turned and headed for the door, but her steps halted when he spoke up.“There’s no lady.” She didn’t know whether to continue or stay back. She wiped her tears and slowly turned. “I’m not dumb, Axel. Don’t try to cover up.”“I’m not covering up.” His voice was low. He took slow strode towards her and when he got to her front, he grabbed her wrist, his fingers stroking the butterfly tattoo.“When I first saw this, I was excited because it means you do not hate me as you claim…” He looked up and found her staring at him with confusion displayed in her brown eyes.“You have all the reason to hate me, Becca, you really do. But please…” he took a deep breath, a bit hesitant. “Do not hate me for long.” Rebecca was too confused to speak. She didn’t know what to say or how to react. Indeed she hated him for what he did, but for some days now she had been seeing him differently, even after persuading
Rebecca stood dumbstruck, confused on what to do. She stared at the lifeless body of the driver, then back at Axel’s retreating figure. From his behavior, she could tell he was angry. Who wouldn’t be? She had asked for this, but now she couldn’t face it. She was too soft to take someone’s life, and it would keep haunting her.“Axel!” She called as she ran after him. She was able to meet up with him when he walked into the house, and in order to stop him, she rushed to his front, blocking him.“Axel.”“What is it, Becca?” His tone was normal and she began to think she was overreacting, maybe Axel wasn’t angry after all. While his tone showed he wasn’t angry, his face said otherwise. His brows were furrowed and his eyes were squinted as he stared at her.“I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have…”“It’s cool, Becca.” His gaze softened. “What happened today made me realize I haven’t been thinking right.”“What do you mean?” Her brows raised questioningly. He licked his lips and her eyes ave
It was late at night and Rebecca was seen taking a walk around the compound. The bright light around made it easier for her to find her way. Her steps halted when she spotted someone standing a few distance from her. She couldn’t see the face of the person because his back was turned against her. She could tell it wasn’t Axel, because he was taller than that. Curiously, she walked to where the guy stood, and when the guy noticed a presence, he turned. Seeing it was Rebecca, he bowed shortly. Rebecca’s brows raised slightly as she wondered the reason for his gesture. “Hi.” The guy was familiar, he was one of the men that came to Eric’s hideout with Axel.“Do you need me to help you with anything?” He asked politely.“No… I mean yes.”“What can I help you with?”“Why can’t Eric be killed?” She asked the question that had been bothering her. She was sure Axel had the chance to kill him, but he didn’t. And Eric’s confidence increased her curiosity.“I and the others do n
Subconsciously, Rebecca dragged Axel, but it was too late. She was only fortunate the bullet hit Axel’s shoulder, instead of his back. Her late drag helped a bit, by saving Axel from being shot in a vital place.“Axel!” She screamed as blood rushed out of his left shoulder. Axel’s shoulders slumped, he held his bleeding shoulder with his right hand as he slowly turned.“Son of a bitch.” He muttered under his breath and the next thing he heard was a gun shot. The man who shot him was shot in the stomach and within the blink of an eye, he was on the floor gasping for breath. “In your next life, do not act out of emotions.” When Axel heard Kira’s voice, he knew she was the one that shot the guy, and he couldn’t help but to be proud.“You’re bleeding a lot!” Rebecca panicked. “Someone call 911.”“It’s not that deep. We have to go home, I’ll get treated at home.” Axel spoke softly.“Not that deep?” Rebecca was annoyed. She was a doctor and she knew that too much bleeding wasn’t
Rebecca was a bit confused. “Our savior? Who?” She questioned curiously.“Axel.” Kira replied, her smile broadened. Rebecca’s confusion doubled. Eric had gotten rid of all the CCTV footages and there was no way Axel would know they were taken by him. And how was he able to find the address? It was questioning. If it was true the person who rode the car outside was Axel, how did Kira know? And why wasn’t she also confused?“There’s something you aren’t telling me, right?” Kira kissed her teeth. “Maybe, but now it’s not the right time. Get ready to leave this shit hole.” She shrugged her shoulders and stood alongside with Kira. A gunshot was heard and she flinched immediately. She exchanged looks with Kira, “What if…”“Not Axel.” Kira replied calmly. She was awed by the fact that Kira had so much faith in Axel. Another gunshot was heard, then another one, and another.“Why aren’t you bothered!” She flared up when she noticed Kira didn’t look stressed about the w
As kira ran down the hall way, she kept looking back to see if the men chasing after her were closer, and when she noticed there was a huge distance between them, she rushed into the room at the end of the hallway only to find one of the masked men there. Regardless of his presence, she locked the door and turned to him.“Who are you?” He asked, pointing his gun at her. Kira dropped her gun on the floor and raised her two hands up. “I don’t mean no harm.” She said, as she slowly approached him.“Where is the lady?” He questioned.“You mean Rebecca? Your boss has her already.” Kira replied, she was almost close to him. When she heard footsteps ascending, she knew the men chasing her were close. She moved her gaze to the laptop at the bedside table and calculated how many steps she had to take just to get there. A loud bang was heard outside and she knew her mission was almost impossible.“You can’t escape!” The thick voices of the men were heard.“Come on doll, you’ve been cau
