He ran away

Just as the elevator doors were about to close, she saw a silhouette of a woman coming out of the regular staff/guest elevator. Then she looked at Nick's face and then understood why he pulled her out in such a rush and gave all the impression that she was close to him.

How dare he...he actually used me..

"Mr.Asher, I never knew you were afraid of women" and chuckled slightly resulting in a frown on Nick's handsome face. 

"Ha, look who is talking...so if you say I'm afraid of women, so it means you are not one, Ms.Mira". Hearing this, Mira felt a headache coming on. Why did I even bother to mock him. How stupid of me. She wanted to look for a mirror and hit herself. Just like before, she shouldn't have opened her mouth and let him do his thing. But Mira is not one to pent up things for herself. She is someone who lays her heart open. So she had to open her mouth again and sometimes she does regret her big mouth. Just like now.

"Even though I'm an women, I know that you would treat all your employees equally without any regards to their gender."

"Ms.Mira I think you should worry about you job more than my affairs. Looks like someone doesn't need a job anymore." This made Mira realize that she shouldn't tease her boss. She put her head down like feeling guilt and cursed him inside. She gave all sorts of irritated, disgusted, annoying looks while looking down. She knew very well, that she can't do it to his face. So she just had to do it to the floor. Then after she was sure that she concealed her emotions well, she put on a pitiful look and uttered,

"Mr.Asher, I don't remember what happened in the last few minutes. Looks like I lost my memory of it just like how I lost it for last night."

By then, they reached the underground parking. So Nick casually remarked, "Mira, come let me drop you off. I'll make sure you recover well" 

"Where are we going?" "To retrieve your memories"

Mira was stunned for a moment, not knowing how to answer him.

Just then, Nick's phone started ringing and a frown appeared on his face.

"I'm busy"

"I'll go back when I can, you should stop bothering with these" with that he hung up the phone and threw the keys to Mira and asked her to drive. Mira was puzzled initially but realized that Nick had a lunch appointment at nearby restaurant and drove him there.

Meanwhile on sixtieth floor, a woman got out of the elevator and went straight to Nick's office without even asking his permission. As she was about to open the door, the secretary came and told her Nick is not in his office. The lady behaved as if she owned the place. She considered herself as Nick's childhood sweetheart.

"Then I'll wait in his office" "Please Ms.Stanley, Boss is not in the office. He went out for a lunch appoitnment and will not be back for a couple of hours. It might not be ideal to wait for him for so long."

The beautiful Ms.Stanley, aka Stella Stanley, is the one and only daughter of the Stanley group chairman Mr.Jamie Stanley and the favorite sister (and only sister) of CEO of Stanley group Mr.Jacob Stanley.

Hearing the secretary's words, a frown appeared on Stella's face. Looks like I have to comeback another time to catch hold of Nick. I'll also see how long you can run away from me.

"Fine, I'll comeback later" with that she strutted in her 5inch high heels.

Seeing her going out, the secretary breathed a sigh of relief.

I think Boss got lucky today, he was able to escape Ms.Stanley successfully. 

But Ms.Stanley is such an outstanding woman, I think she would also make a good match for the boss. And the best part is he is best friends with her brother. I don't understand why he always runs away from her.

While strutting away in her high heels, Stella seemed to remember something. I think, I saw Nick's elevator getting closed just now. She narrowed her eyes dangerously as she thought of the possiblity that Nick rushed out as he knew she was coming up. How insolent of this guy. But why do I feel like I saw a girl in the elevator. I'm sure, it is Nick's personal elevator and he wouldn't allow anyone except Ryan to get into it. I need to keep an eye on people around Nick. 

Could it be the secratary that went to the party with Nick yesterday. I seem to hear a lot of gossip about them. Even though no official news has been published, there were a lot of things circulating in the socialite group. She heard from her friends how there was a woman beside Nick during the party and how she was clinging to him the entire time. She also came to know that she was dead drunk and Nick had to take her out personally. Being in the top social circle, she knew it is common for men to attend parties with a partner. But this was first time, Nick had brought a woman and kept her by his side entire time. 

Usually, Nick would enter with his partner and then he goes on with his way in socializing with the other business partners and only occasionally acknowledge the lady who came with him. He would never allow others to participate in his business discussions. Having a lady next to him is more of a distraction according to him. But yesterday he made an exception. And that lady was not even in the industry. She is just an unknown secretary. But still, he had personally sent her back. He could have just called the driver or asked Ryan to send her back. Or better, he could have just let her go back by a taxi. It's not like drunk women always have someone send them back. A lot of women go back by taxi. But no he had to carry her princess style and send her back. Stella felt that she needs to look at that woman. Unfortuantely, she couldn't get any pictures from anyone yesterday. Nick made sure that nothing is posted. 

She suddenly turned back, and walked up to Ryan and asked him, "Where is Nick's new secretary? I heard he took her to the gathering yesterday."

"Ms.Stanley are you asking about Ms Mira? She went with Boss for the lunch appointment. She is acting as his driver currently."

Sure enough. I didn't make a mistake then. So her name is Mira. and she finally exited the floor.

"Please promise that you will not leave me, I'm scared", she said sniffing with a tear stricken face

"I will never forget you, Mimi" he said wiping the tears gently from her face.

She has beautiful pair of hazel eyes that he can never forget in his dreams. 

Quickly he pulled her to a corner and both of them hid there when they heard sounds coming from outside the door. He know they are their kidnappers. 

Even though the boy was only 5 years, he was a prodigy and son of a billionaire. He could stay calm even in critical situations and try to come up with solutions. It would have been a piece of cake from him to get out of there stealthily but next to him was a little girl around 3years who is too scared.

The kidnappers came inside the room and scanned all the corners for the kids. When they found them, a slight smirk formed on their faces.

"You kids want to play the hide and seek game..but when I find you, you can't imagine your reward" "hahahah" and they started laughing menacingly and reached to the corner where the kids were. He grabbed the girl by her hair and yanked her to the center and as the boy tried to help her, he was also kicked by the man until blood started flowing out of their bodies.

Suddenly, he felt like being choked and was sweating profusely. Nick looked at his surroundings and that is when he realized that he had the nightmare again.

He took a sip of water from the bottle on his bedside table and went to bathroom to wash his face and looked at the clock while wiping his face with a towel. It is only 2AM in the morning.

And he was not sure, if he would be able to go back to sleep. This is not new to him. These nightmares keep recurring and he doesn't know what he need to do to make them stop.

The boy in his dream is himself but he doesn't remember the girl. All he remembered is that she told her name was Mimi and those beautiful and innocent hazel eyes.
