Chapter 3

Hearing her words, Nick's face darkened. He was very angry. He wanted to pour a bucket full of ice on her at that instant to wake her up. How dare she call him names!! But unfortunately, Nick couldn't be mad at Mira for long. She is actually asking him to take her to her house and stay with her for the night. She would probably die of shame if she knew what she was talking. Looking at her flushed cheeks, he couldn't help but adore her. She is too cute for him to be mad at. His gaze on her softened and he wanted to give in to her request. He never knew she could be so adorable and persuasive. But he knew well that she would cry her eyes out next morning if anything were to happen between them now. But still, he need to get her home, so taking that as a good chance for getting her address, he acted with her and told that he would go with her. Once she heard that he would come with her, she was too happy that she lost her footing and fell right into his arms. When he asked her nicely to stand properly, she gave him a cheeky grin. So, he couldn't help but lift her in his arms and get her tucked in the back seat next to him. He then ordered the driver to take them to Mira's residence and pulled the divider up. 

On the way, Mira wanted to enjoy the night breeze and rolled her windows down. As the cold wind hit her face, she couldn't help but shiver and jumped on to Nick's lap and hugged his neck tightly to herself warm. Looking at her antics, Nick's lips curved up a bit amused by her. He let her hug and do whatever she wanted with him while gently patting her back with his big hands. He himself didn't know why he was giving in to her whims. He just wanted the road to never end. He liked it when she was in his arms. He knew she was drunk and wasted. But he didn't have a drop. He is very sober. Still, he couldn't put her down even when his mind kept scolding him, something in him told him not to let go of her. Seeing that she is silent, he wanted to pull the window up. But as soon as he moved, she restricted his movement and scolded him to not move. 

Seeing that there was nothing he could do at the moment, Nick remained silent. Finally they reached Mira's place. As they reached Mira's house, Nick carried her to her apartment and opened the door with her fingerprint. At that moment, he was totally exhausted and deeply regretted bringing her along with him to the party. He just wanted to throw her on the couch in her living room and get out from ther. But looking at the delicate woman in his hands, he couldn't help but sigh. In the end, he helped her remove the shoes and cleaned her make up. Finally, tucked her into the bed before closing the door behind him. 

I knew women meant trouble. But this lady is beyond words. How could she keep drinking like that, if she can't hold it. I can't imagine that I helped her this much today. I will definitely get my revenge for this. All in all he forgot one important detail. He was the reason she had to drink so much tonight.

He turned back to the closed door, and huffed,"Mira, come to the office tomorrow. " With that he went back to his car and dozed off in the back seat while the driver took him back to his residence.

This is all his fault that I couldn't get up early as I had to drink for him until I got wasted last night. I'm even suffering with a splitting headache. But still rushed to office. Yet, he is complaining I'm late. What a petty guy!!Alas, can I say it loud..No!!I just have to suck it up. Thinking this, she put on the sweetest smile she could and said, "Mr. Asher, you are such a magnanimous person and are known to value your employees over money. I hope you can let this slide for just once. Thank you for being the most charming and the most understanding boss!" Saying this, she turned around and wanted to get out of his line of sight quickly but was frozen on spot when she heard his next words.

This lady sure thinks I'd let her off if she starts praising me. Clearly, she had underestimated me and over estimated herself. I wouldn't have minded if she were just late to work. But who would pay me for all my efforts yesterday. I even had to carry her in my arms and tuck her to bed. She sure had forgotten all that happened yesterday night. In that case, I'd become the magnanimous guy and help her recover her lost memories. No way I'm going to let her away with what had transpired yesterday. I need to make sure of it. Two can surely play the game.

With such thoughts a smirk formed on Nick's face and his eyes turned a shade dark. Anyone who had seen the look on his face right now, can immediately guess that a target has been set by Nick. And that target is sure going to suffer. But oblivious to Nick's intentions, Mira was in a hurry to get out of the room. She dared not look at Nick in the eye. 

Seeing that Mira had an intention to runaway from him, Nick just knew what he had to do to stop her. And thus, "Mira, You need to take the responsibility for last night"

Mira's eyes widened as she was shocked to the core hearing his words. I only drank a bit too much and he helped me home. What else did I do last night....aaah...why don't I remember anything!! Mira was shell shocked unable to move from her spot. Fine, forget about moving, she could not even breath. The way Nick worded it, Mira had an extremely bad feeling about it. She was inwardly cursing herself for drinking so much. She just wanted to slap herself for the situation she is currently in and was quite unsure about her future predicament.

With that, Nick slowly walked upto Mira, who was still in a daze trying to remember what she had done last night, and pulled her by her wrist. The skin where he touched gave her a sensation of being electrocuted and she jolted out of her thoughts. She finally raised her head and looked into his eyes. She had a bad feeling about what was going to happen next. But with everything happening, she knew one thing for sure. She should never look into Nick's eye so deeply. She almost lost herself in his eyes too mesmerized. There was an undeniable attraction in his eyes that she couldn't ignore. She has again fallen in a daze looking into his eyes. As Nick pulled her hand, she came back to the office room and tried explaining.

"Sir,wh..." before she could complete, he walked out of his office dragging her alongside by her wrist. She couldn't really comprehend what he was trying to do and unfortunately, she couldn't ask him out loud with the secretary department employees watching them. She just wanted to dig a hole and disappear. But she knew very well that questioning him there would only show her disrespect towards him and put him in an embarrassing position. Not only that, if she contradicted him there, people would very much assume a lot about their relationship. They would think that she has an ambiguous relationship with the boss. Keeping silent and letting his drag her along would be a better option currently. Atleast, people would sympathize with her, thinking that she is victim for his wrath even if they didn't know the circumstances leading to it. 

After thinking this, she just let him be and allowed him to guide her out of the office into his elevator. 

Any way he did help me yesterday at the end. He brought me home and didn't leave me there. If he had actually left me on the street, I don't even know what would have happened to me. He is the boss. And this is his way. I'm just his mall time employee. It is better I shut and let him give me the punishment. I shouldn't expect to be left unscathed after being helped by the devil. 

As such Mira, became more obidient and let Nick do whatever he wanted. That is until she looked out of the elevator.
