Chapter 12— Auctioning

“This place is nice. Hmm, such glistening environment,” Cora clicked her tongue, her eyes darting around the premises in satisfaction.

We were at the villa for the auction. It was a bracelet that was being auctioned and my only reason for attending was simply because I wanted to be there.

“I don't know a lot about prices Mr Calvin,” Cora turned to me, my hand on hers, “tell me how much will a building like this cost, huh?”

“Not much. Probably half a billion.” I stated casually and she was still beside me for a second before she shook her head.

“I see.”

“Hm,” I replied when one of the guards walked towards us. “Can we see the invitation card?”

I brought out the card and they let us into the room where the auctioning was taking place. It was filled with only about 20 people, all of them familiar businessmen.

Cora simply stayed silent beside me and in less than 5 minutes, the auction began.

“So, we have the bid price for 100, 000” the auctioneer pointed at the image on which the bracelet
