Chapter 38

Marcus’s POV

The sun was busy rising in the horizon, casting long shadows over the driveway as I approached my home. The way back was long and a mixture of anxiety and exhaustion made its way to the surface. My leg was injured in the fight with Logan and his pet. As the final stretch came to an end, the scent of my pack hit my nostrils.

It didn’t bring any comfort, I knew what awaited me. It would surely not be a warm welcome. The sound of the wolves waking up echoed over the grounds, the pack started to move about readying themselves for the day ahead. Making my way up the stairs towards the door, I heard whistling coming from the garden. I knew that whistle.

With a limp I made my way to the garden to meet Ethan. I knew he knew I was back. I would have smelt me from a mile away, with the blood dripping from my leg there was no way he wouldn't know.
