Chapter 36

Logan’s POV

With a growl I tackled her to the ground, pinning her beneath me. She struggled, her eyes widened with fear for the first time, but I didn’t care. She had crossed a line that she could never return from.

“Logan, come on. You won’t really kill me. What happened to that promise-” She started to plead, but I silenced her with a vicious snarl.

“Promises are made to be broken.” I grabbed the pole that Marcus had hit me with, “This is for Veronica.” Lifting the pole into the air, I jabbed it through her chest. “You will never be able to hurt anyone, ever again.”

She gasped for air, trying to remove the pole but it was no use. The wolfsbane had begun taking its toll. With my last bit of strength I collapsed beside her, the world spinning around me. As I took a big breath, the scent of Veronica was fading slightly. Opening my eyes, I jumped up and followed her scent.

The scent trail led me into the building. The doors of the empty cells passed me, my heart pounded in my chest. I
